Anyone else ever struggled to make a rider go bareback, without them slipping all over the place and looking downright awkward? XD It was terrible. Before I had tack, I would make makeshift bridles and make my riders ride bareback (saddles are beyond my area of expertise) and it always failed.

Until I discovered...

Hair elastics! default smiley (lol) You know those really tiny, almost invisible ones that you can use for really small braids or something? You can hook them around one of your rider's feet, stretch it under the horse's belly, and then hook it over the other foot. It's hard to see and your riders will no longer look like thy are holding on for dear life!

I just had to share my story of innovation and creative genius. default smiley (lol)

That us a good idea....I always prefer to use sticky wax.

I use rubber bands or hair bands too.

That's awesome! For the hot glue I use, it peels right of the horse and leaves no marks. So I just use that.

Sorry! I don't know how! They are all over now though. They are 2016's, I believe, or maybe they're just photoshopped. I don't even think that the clysdale is going to come out. The appy is the new qh though!

Ya, I think the cheapest is in europe.

I didn't know Schleich made special runs. How long have they been doing it?
By Retired breeder, 16th September 2015 02:52:00
At least a few years I think. There's special trakhener mares, Andalusian mares, Arabians, knabstruppers, Lippizaner mares, and icelandics, and a camargue, and a TWH, and a Fresian I think, and an Andalusian stallion, and paints, and a GV stallion, and probably some more...

Just saw the friesian! He is so beautiful! I want him!

Me too! Got what I need to finish customizing eclipse!
I've always wanted to customize my schleich horses but I don't know what paint to use. Should I use acrylic paint or is there some special model horse paint?

I think acrylic works best, with another coat that helps to keep it on since it can peel.
Thank you. I know i'll be painting all my schleich doubles now.

Clear matte or glossy finish looks great and helps the paint to stay on. Also make it look more realistic.
By Retired breeder, 17th September 2015 02:46:47
If you can, use matte, then put gloss (clear nail polish would work for this) on the eyes, maybe the hooves, if you are really adventurous try the mane and tail!
By Retired breeder, 17th September 2015 03:09:46
Ya, My clear nail polish is chunky, have to get a new one with a sleeker brush that is better for detail.
