Okay I looked at some of the rules and they are WAY too complicated glue me. I just wanna enter my horse in a simple class, noting with hackamores or curb bits. Unless I get into breyer photography and buy all that stuff.

You can show in halter only which is what I show in. But if you're wanting to get into performance than you've got to follow the IMEHA rules.

What do you have to do with the halter classes?
By Retired breeder, 23rd April 2015 00:28:54
Oh my gosh. Ugh. I can only find 2 pictures of my stallion, and nothing on eBay. One of the pictures is customized, and the other is on Pinterest an when I click it it shows something totally different. I hate Pinterest.

So all I have to do is pose them with a nice background? Can I do.it outside? And do I have to have a halter for certain halter classes, or a certain background? Sorry for all the questions, but I'm Verry interested.
By Retired breeder, 23rd April 2015 00:53:55
I just took mine infront of the wall. Probably why I lost, but it works. default smiley ;)

I have few questions, sorry Irene! Thanks you're so awesome default smiley xd

Can I use any brand of horse for halter? Do I need a halter for halter?

Can I use any horse for head study?

Why can't I find the mold class in the rulebook? Am I just missing it?
By Retired breeder, 23rd April 2015 01:19:42
Well. I was interested in IMEHA when you first mentioned it, but then thought it would be way to much. Now the fact that I can use my safari, and that halter is so simple and for any type on the list (right? Pretty sure the page I found was halter) and the mold class... It's great! It's actually looking like I might be able to do it! I'll have to pester my mom though. She won't get it.

@ JoHorseLover725....

Question #1-Yes. As long as you enter it in the correct breed and make class.

Question #1A-No. Horse *doesn't* have to wear a halter for halter classes. The only time you would need a halter & lead is if you would show in the *presentation or showmanship* classes. And the halter *must* be correct for that particular breed.

Question #2-Yes as long as you enter in the correct class. But *and this is very important to remember*--->IMEHA Rules regarding headstudy photo--->Headstudy classes are open to subject with or without headstall or bridle. Subject shall show head, throat latch and neck only. No chest, shoulder, topline or other body parts shall show within the photo frame. The neck shall stop at the top and bottom of base of the neck and no shoulder muscling or wither hair shall be visible. This ruling is strictly enforced and your entry will not be approved by the Ring Steward if it does not comply.

Question #3-After you log on the IMEHA site...look towards the left hand side of the page. Scroll down and you click where it says Mold Shows and a list will come up.

Oooh! Nice! My mom has a good camera my dad got her off craiglist. It's still very nice. I could use that. If she lets me join, but hopefully she will, because I just need to email pictures right? And it's free. She would have to do nothing. default smiley xd

It costs *nothing* to join IMEHA and like I said...you need to register both your stable and real name. Wait until the director gives her approval and then you can upload your photos (again...you *can't* enter any classes until *all* divisions have been judged and your photos must get approved by the director).

Question #1-Some showers use a light blue poster board...or...scenic posters. On page 176 in this topic my Schleich models are actually sitting on my kitchen table (due to my mobility issues it's difficult now for me to haul everything outside to the patio to set up for my photos).

The base is an old shelf we had downstairs...grooved from end to end. It was then glued with a sheet (cut to size) of model railroad grass. That section of the model railroad grass was then inserted into the groove so I could insert some type of wall (or what's called a buffer so you can't see then bottom of the poster board background). And the wall is actually an old piece of floor molding my husband had downstairs. The background is a piece of poster board taped onto a piece of foam board.

Question #2-If you take photos outside? The best condition is when it's overcast but if you have a sunny day you want the sun behind you. Try not to have harsh shadows if at all possible.

Question #3-Again...if you are showing in just *halter* classes you *don't* have to nor *need* to have the halter on the horse. You would only need the *correct halter for that specific breed* if you are wanting to show in either the Presentation or Showmanship classes.
