Just finished my last two feed bags and filled them all!
By Retired breeder, 2nd March 2015 16:16:08
@Jo. How did you make them?
By Retired breeder, 2nd March 2015 19:11:27
I watched a video...

Print out feed bags (and maybe nutrition facts RIGHT next to them.

Cut them out so that there is plenty of space on one side and a little on the other, and a little one the bottom. Maybe 3/4"?

Fold the bottom so it folds up to the back of the printed side with the fold on the bottom edge of the bag printout.

Fold each side the same way.

Measure how wide the little side is and the make a fold that far from the bag front on the other side. Cut the fold line on the bottom tab.

Fold the tabs in and tape to make a box thing.

Cut long side's excess.

Tape the gap.

You have a complete box.

Take the front and back corners and bring them together so the crease goes INTO the bag.

Keep creasing the whole way down.

Once you get to the bottom, take the flat part and fold it one way then the other.

Or just watch a video, that is horrible! default smiley xd

So what do you guys think of me having a Schleich show in my forum? Today I was researching breyer/Schleich showing, but breyer was all I could find. Then I realized that even if my mom let me we'd never get around to sending pictures in, and traveling is basically out of the question. Plus all the things I read were really confusing!!!

Anyway, there would be multiple. Probably at least two. Some ideas:

Performance: a horse performing a task- wether doing a show, pulling a cart, barrel racing, or just going out for a trail ride, anything like that. judged by tack, horse, creativity, etc.

Halter: stick a halter on your best painted and best conditioned model, and put it in a pretty background. Judged by quality. And the halter.

Collectibility: a close up of an older model, judged by condition and rarity.

Oh you'd post pics by the way!

Of course there would be howrse prizes too, can't forget that!

@Jo. Could you give me the link for the feed bag video?
By Retired breeder, 2nd March 2015 21:58:29
I'm sorry I have no idea how to make links on an iPod! Just search on YouTube: How To Make a Schleich Feed Bag. I think most are probably the same. The one I watched was somewhere in the 3 minutes.

I just used ribbon, clips and a bit of flat shoelace to make a lunging set!
By Retired breeder, 2nd March 2015 21:59:59
I also made a leather English bridle with ribbon reins. It's horrid. I couldn't clip the back so I made it bigger. Now the ear strap thing is HUGE! Otherwise it's cute!
By Retired breeder, 2nd March 2015 22:00:54
I also made two neck ribbons- light blue with a weird medium blue rose (that is the better one!). And maroon with a pink rhinestone.
By Retired breeder, 2nd March 2015 22:01:33
Oh and a show lead. It's just chain and leather witha loop in the end to hold. And a clip on the chain.
By Retired breeder, 2nd March 2015 22:07:38
I made a little run in out of Popsicle sticks!!
By Retired breeder, 2nd March 2015 22:17:12
cool you guys! I need to make another English set...
By Retired breeder, 2nd March 2015 23:13:50
Hey guys! I love making feed bags! I will have to check out your show jo!
By Retired breeder, 3rd March 2015 01:59:22
Awesome sauce! I only made fences once and they were horrid... I couldn't make a run in! default smiley xd
By Retired breeder, 3rd March 2015 02:00:21
So do you guys think I should do the show? I might figure out how to post a pic and enter myself and have a vote... But I still don't think I can post pics/ links on my iPod!
By Retired breeder, 3rd March 2015 02:06:14
Ok I'm going to start up the contest. Two entries per player per class will be the limit!
Spending hours upon hours on my stable that's not even big enough for some horses
