Besides pony rides at fairs/field days, a chestnut gelding named Merlin. It was just a rental trail ride thing, but I'll never forget him! The first horse I really rode on my own without being on a trail ride was a quarter horse named Joker.

I rode an unknown pony at a fair and a chestnut horse briefly when I was little before I took riding lessons but I won't count those.
My very first riding lesson was at a walk, bareback on a fleabitten Arabian gelding named Sid. But after that I was always on a black Quarter Horse gelding with a star and one white sock named Jesse (he looked like Black Beauty). I consider Jesse my first even though technically he wasn't because I only briefly rode Sid. Jesse was the first lesson horse I road in saddle though. |

A Quarter Horse named Touch, she wasn' t mine, but I really loved her. She passed and soon after I switched stables. Broke my heart.
