My sister got her first horse when she was 11, and I was about 2. She was a 23 year old welsh pony named Smokin'.

I rode her all the time, I remember my sister leading him with me smiling hugely in the saddle

Mine was technically Prince. When I was 3 years old, my mom took me to my aunt's house and I was led around on her POA. I don't really remember it, but there's pictures, and apparently I had a great time.

The first horse that I ever rode by myself was named May. I was 5 years old, and she was about 30. I remember thinking she was giant, but that's not true at all. She was a medium-sized bay pony, with a stripe and one white sock. What a good horse. I rode her for about 3 years until I wanted a horse that was a bit taller and quicker, so I leased an Arabian named Zolie. He was also pretty old, but he was bombproof and he taught me so much about riding.

All 3 of these horses have since passed away, but they were amazing, and they sparked a lifelong love of horses in me, and for that, I'll always be grateful.

The first horse I rode without a saddle was a twenty three year old Morgan horse.
Her name was rose.
But get this !!! she was a show horse so here is her show name;

I first discovered I loved horses when I attended a summer pony camp when I was 9 years old. Think the first pony I rode there was named Pepper and was a bit reluctant to follow directions. I remember nudging him too hard with my heels to make him even trot.

The first pony I ever rose in an actual lesson was named Goldilocks! I rode her in the rain and didn't really have a great time but she was an amazingly sweet pony.

The first horse I ever rode, was obviously pony rides at the fair, the the first horse I actually rode was a Morgan gelding named Fortune, and I still ride him today!!

Talon was an Arabian Paint cross with the chestnut overo coat (I think that was the coat) he is living a life of retirement at a friends house 5 hours away from me being spoiled.

In many ways we saved each other from destruction, we were two trippy peas in a far out pod. I remember when I was 13 a rattle snake was in the arena we were practicing in for a competition and he threw me off to protect me from the snake. I may have earned a broken wrist from hitting the rails, but I earned a snake skin head band for my hat.

Mine was a pony called Skittles. From what I know, she was an old mare with a tendency to bite people. Needless to say, I was terrified that she was going to bite me during my first lesson.

Mine was Peggy Sue who is a dappled gray pony. I think I rode another horse before that but I can't remember the name!

The first horse I rode was a dapple gray Percheron gelding named Josh. He was so nice about it and I was about 7 years old.
