The first horse I rode independently was Annie, a ten year old quarter horse that I rode just before my 11th birthday. However I have been on pony rides since I was 8 months old.

I first rode a stubborn old paint/quarter pony cross mare. I learned the basics and up to a canter in English riding until she wasn't leveled enough to teach me more. |
The first horse I ever rode was named Ben. He was a 27 year old, chestnut quarter horse. I learned how to walk, trot, and canter on him.
RIP

Her name was Maggie, she was a 12.2 or 12.3 chestnut welsh pony with no markings and the little darling was such a saint, she put up with literally anything! She was one of those lesson ponies that you could tell truly loved her job and protected her kiddos, I sure miss that sweet girl! I showed her consistently to short stirrup! RIP sweet Maggie Rose
