It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

To take a screen shot--hit the "Prnt Scrn" button and then open up any image program (such as Microsoft Paint) and paste. The print screen button copies a screenshot which you can then paste and save as an image.

XDi am super happy to know that my Equesta is a foundation horse, espicaly since she is my first and currently only horse.

I will let it be known when she can be bred.

Also i will be happy to help out in the NIB project a lil but will not beable to help to much.

I was magically able to get my EC lesson gain to 22e over night after not doing anything at all with them default smiley xd lol. Wish it was all that easy default smiley :p

k, off again.....all sorts of funky hours, trying to home my poor mustang baby (RL) as the house I used to live at is being auctioned by the bank tomorrow....not fun times default smiley xd

Wow, I've been slacking on my NIBs recently - lack of time, mainly, and it's made me realise I'm just not active enough in this game to BLUP all the foundation foals I seem to have accumulated, so a lot of them have to go.

I'm still keeping my Newfs and a few others, but yeah, I really need to concentrate on my main breed, fun though bidding on auctions is!

I haven't won a competition in almost a week. It's pretty disheartening default smiley :( As long a horse has full training, I think that by the time they reach 20 they should just automatically get 100 BLUP. LOL.

Wow..some people..lol...I have had lots of people asking me to be on their list..I check their howrses and let them know which howrses are inbred and what ones arent..hence a mare being on both sides of the parentage..and they all come back as technically they are all inbred they all come from two howrses...I have to remind them kindly that kinda like we all come from adam and eve does that make you my sister..? I wonder..why i that difficult when things were explained to me..lol

I totally don't get that line of reasoning - it seems obvious to me that Ouranos and Gaia are creator figures rather than real horses... It's a bit of a logic fail in that if all horses on Howrse are inbred as they all trace back to O and G, then you'd have to think of all horses, ponies and donkeys as the same breed, LOL!

I think 32 is too few for a greenstar. From 32 you get 16 foals, from 16 you get 8, from 8 you get 4, from 4 you get 2, and then one. That's five generations...and I don't think that's close enough for a greenstar. Heck, 3 generations is just a little over 360GP. You might be able to achieve it in 10 generations, if you pushed really hard.
