It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

anyone got any tips on getting my foundation mare (midnight rose) some wins
shes stuck default smiley (lol)

at the moment i'm just entering her in BR every time i see one with only one spot left

any help welcome
Entering in comps with no competitors has lead to more wins for me to be honest, if you think you have enough time check to see how many items/skills the horses you are competing against have and enter in the lowest skills level possible. The big skilled horses tend to enter in comps that yield a larger kitty. What breed is she?

*goes to look at her*

If she were mine, I would enter her in galloping races to bold that out (and do galloping rides if you haven't) and then go back to the barrel races. Try to enter her in galloping races close to or at 27% difficulty, she should have the best luck winning those as she's got double that in gallop training (and that's the lowest comp you can enter then). And try to stay in breed-specific as friesians have lower speed than a lot of other breeds and it hurts during competitions.

Once galloping is bolded out she should have better luck in the barrel races because it goes on speed, gallop, and dressage scores.

Hope that helps and best of luck getting those wins!

Forest, I started a GIMP tut in my forum, but I don't know how easy/hard it is to understand... it would be nice to get some feedback
I will take a look. I am about to place my newest creation up in my forum if you're interested default smiley (y) default smiley ;).

bluetempest I would drop a line to Yankee Lady, she may be interested.

gaff, I took a look but I am too tired to follow it all the way down, the images are really large so it takes a lot to concentrate default smiley xd.

If you guys wanna see some pictures I drew myself they are in my EC forum. More will pop up periodically as I draw them default smiley :p.

The one I just finished on GIMP took me a while as I did it without any tutorial up for me to use but still turned out nicely. The lineart's legs could use some work but *shrugs* that is what I get for only taking 20 minutes to try to squeeze them into a small page default smiley xd

Okay.
Now I've built up enough determination to go work a few foundies. Don't care about norwegian lessons right now (shh, I'm at school default smiley :-x) when foundies are soo much more important default smiley xd

Bluetempest, I would be interested in those Shetlands. default smiley ;)
default smiley (lol). This game certainly makes ya reorganize what is in your "important to do" list for the day doesn't it default smiley :p. I hate going to work as it tears me away from the comp lol

default smiley (lol) Forest Queen, you're right. I should be studying for my upcoming exams, instead here I am, taking care of my EC's meadows and working some horses.
Ya, I should have been in bed 3 hours ago but I am going to place my oldies into the comps and then see how I feel. If I feel awake enough I will work a couple of my youngsters too.

I am sooo excited, I bought a foundation arabian foal from auctions. She already had started games.....practically thought her GP was a goner but I got it all the way up to 351.02 default smiley :-)). Same for a colt though his GP was much worse when I bought him so it is a measly 350.56 or something along the lines. *shrugs* Still not to bad default smiley :-))

That's great, congratulations! I usually don't look at foals over 8 months who already started games (most of the times incorrectly). Sometimes I get lucky and find some untouched 2-6 moths old foals default smiley (y) A few weeks ago started buying Barb foals, I have a few adult horses that I'm BLUPping but it's really slow and don't really like them default smiley :( Oh well.

Forest - I've been wrestling with GIMP myself -- there are some nice colouring tutorials on deviantart if you just google....I shall toddle over and look at your piccys...

Off to check how the beasties may or may not have done overnight....
I think I have gotten a hand of most of it....so far. I at least have a basic idea of most of the little buttons now default smiley (lol). I tried googling tutorials and such but couldn't find anything specific enough for me and I can't seem to navigate deviantart to save my life default smiley xd

Forest - I'm still figuring out the buttons...default smiley (lol)

I've finally sorted through my lot and have arranged *marriages* for everyone..default smiley ;)...I theoretically have some decent matches and at least now I have some sort of direction....

And then there's the comps....

ugh.
By Retired breeder, 22nd January 2010 13:50:57
I'm still experimenting -
I just got a foal with 355.06 out of a mare with only 10 wins...

I didn't see it at first, but the first link is a artist who use a drawing tablet, so unless you have that, it might be hard to do the artists way of doing it *snerk* default smiley (lol)

By Retired breeder, 22nd January 2010 16:30:05
Good luck with your comps everyone! Off to do mine.

I will see if I can find any GIMP tuts and drop into your forum with them. I use PS myself, but I know many that use GIMP very well. See if I can find a equivalents page for GIMP.
By Retired breeder, 22nd January 2010 17:53:46
Omg yay! default smiley :-)) Adrian got his first win! You know what makes the best fillers? Donkeys! I knew there was a reason beyond my first 'horse' being a donkey that I had to have some!

Ok, so...since only two of our horses can be in a comp at once...if any of you need some fillers, let me know. I'll be doing donkeys on the side as fillers and maybe some day make a few immortal so they can be permanent fillers. I wish my roommates had some donkeys. I need three more fillers to get more wins on Adrian.

But yay I'm so happy! I shall get him BLUP-ed yet!

I'm so going to save up and attack the auctions for more donkeys, regardless of coverings. I wish I could afford some foundation ones to do NIB donkeys, but oh well. Inbred shouldn't matter for fillers.
