This thread is here to show off your Retired Coats. This is not the place to post non retired coats. **The two exceptions would be coats that have been pulled (brief discussions) and the pre release coats.

REMEMBER:

******** absolutely no sales talk, no talk about spares or how many extras of a copy you got and selling them to fund your RC habit this is just a place to talk RCs

* although links and graphics are ok on this thread, they are not allowed normally on public forums

* any negative or unkind comments on artists or coats (or anyone!) will be removed, and depending on the case, it might mean an instant forum ban.

* DO NOT use this as a place to sell your horse/coats-if you feel the need to break this rule, it will mean an instant forum ban...

** Sales ads are NOT allowed in any public forums. Asking for spare coats will now be considered a sales ad. This includes stating that you plan to sell a coat, or point out coats for sale in sales.

* Do not use this place as a spot for rants or complaints-About coats/BG/or each other.

* This is not the place to ask players to price your coats, or to ask others the worth of a coat, you can check uses on your own by hovering your mouse over the gray apple and price it from there.

* This is not the place to bring up the subject of stolen images. Keep in mind that the rules of the BP used to be very different, and many old coats are from that time.
There is not any reason to bring that up, or report the coats.

*Please do not do a coat countdown for soon to retire coats.

* Please do not post coats that are currently in the GA and have either not retired, or will never retire.

* Please do not post coat/bg combos or ask opinions on them, except following coat release.

* Some coats may be removed in the future, whether that be for problems with the coats itself or just because they're clearing room on the server to allow other coats to be uploaded - if you're buying retired coats, please keep that in mind. If you want a permanent copy, I would recommend saving the graphic to your computer

* How to discover who many uses a New GC coat will retire-There is now a coat countdown in the GA, and it will show how many have been used and how many uses there are left.

** There is now a new creations directory which shows all coats. Go to Community>>>Directories>>>Creations>>>Click more criteria, and on the left hand side is a gold and silver apple. Click the silver apple and search to see all retired coats.

* To see who created/how many uses/name/or if you have it already of a RC coat, simply click on the silver apple, and it will tell you.

*** Posting links to other player's coats is NOT allowed and can mean a forum ban.

what does preCS mean?

"PreCS" is a term used to describe coats that were made and published before the Creation Space. These coats have slightly different rules than today's coats. For one they are not compatible with Helios' Rays. Another thing is, the creator of these coats can determine when they retire and if the creator leaves the game then the coat becomes retired as well. Making them slightly more valuable in the eyes of collectors.

I'm pretty sure this was a RC or limited use (forgive me if I am wrong please, my memory is terrible) but this coat has been removed from the game

It was not retired I don't think, it may have been a limited use though. I'm so sad, I liked that one.default smiley :( I believe it has been on the game since January. Too bad it had to be removed.

I had it so it must have been limited use but 200 uses plus as i had a used an apple (I use HP on 100's due to swifter coating without accidental using passes) , it's in my sorting tab so no idea how long it's been sat there or what it's current status was.

Gahhh the winged uni coat was a 300 use RC, with 284 uses left. It was a really awesome coat, I'm actually pretty mad right now. I wish howrse would tell us why they remove certain coats default smiley (n)default smiley (n) I know it's usually copyright issues, but I still want to know. default smiley (d)

Make sure the "Compatible with Helios Ray" box is unchecked. Any PreCS coat is blocked when you have that box checked.

On the creations directory, you can double click the box "Compatible with the Helios' Ray" to only view preCS coats

On the GA selection page, unselect the box for compatible with the Helios' Ray (it is automatically checked) and that allows for preCS coats to appear. I find it's easiest to view them by ordering the coats chronologically and starting from the end of the list.

To find a pre CS coat just look at the background, it should resemble a dust storm compared to the non dusty looking background horses have now days (non helios ray). Here's an example:

I really think its about time Howrse put some effort into the COMPLETE revamp of the CS section and the whole process of voting and approving coats. With each passing month there are more and more coats that get approved and later turn out to be in violation of CS terms and conditions, OR, I am sorry to say it - and this is MY OPINION ONLY - lately some really strange and distorted, off-looking coats I find even a bit ugly (with all my respect to artists, yes, I do know there is no such term as "ugly" in art, it's all based on my personal taste) - including non-realistic body/leg/head shapes, blurriness and/or sharp edges and low quality. All these coats, some of which have NO uses at all even after months online, are actually jamming valid, beautiful coats from being published each month. I am sorry, but this is what I think.

Apologies once again, I do not target to offend anyone.

And if you only come across an image posted in a forum, or find a coat in the Safe Haven that you want to check right away, and not the actual horse's page, if you right click to "view image" and bring up its url it will have "static.howrse.com" in the address rather than "creation.howrse.com"

Preach. default smiley (y) I totally agree with you. Another thing is the fact that the coats without use limits are pretty much pointless to me. I mean, if they'll be around forever what's the point of getting it? A Golden Apple is worth more that a horse with a GA coat. It'd be great if they changed the payout for coats to be more fair, or once again allow players to retire coats after a certain number of uses has been hit (I was thinking 900, since that's the highest use limit available)
Either way, I'm tired of the CS the way it is now default smiley (b)
