The new Emporium? Hate it. What I hate even more is the fact that NO ONE on the test server liked or approved of the change, especially having to collect the privileges manually. It's quite obvious now that you don't put the opinion of your player base first. It could have been slightly better if the option to collect the privileges were on the TOP of the page OR moved to the Daily Objectives page.

I also want to point out, if anyone from Owlient is reading, this message posted on Discord a few days ago:

I'm also already sick of the Emporium notification.
That's the point. Howrse wants you to click into the emporium to view the offers to get rid of the notification in the hopes that you'll buy something because having a red dot on a a banner that rotates through events is not getting the job done. So they made it permanent. So that you'll have to view every single offer that they throw out from now onwards or you can just sit there and be annoyed by the red dot. Hence it's an update to stop you from "missing out". They're not referring to any features that players actually use. They're referring to you buying their packs. This is howrse. Everything is about money. The new strategy appears to be annoying you into giving them money because begging through their repeated sales of late probably didn't work. But of course, this is all just my speculation. Maybe they do have other intentions that do not involve money and I just can't see them because of how biased I am at this point.

Anyways, I'm off to do something productive. I hope there will be a way to disable this dot permanently seeing how nobody likes it. Otherwise, it now lives on the trade part of my page permanently because I never intend to click on it as I do not spend money on this game and I am not interested in any of the cash grabs.

I don't like the new background and here's why. For some of my GA/RC coats with the horse just being a regular horse, it's fine. But for the wonky/unique coats? It looks so weird. The old, simple background drew more attention to the coat and I didn't mind that it didn't "fit" because the background kind of faded away. This new background is way too busy/distracting.
Time to start collecting HRs so I don't have to hate some of my GA/RC coats with it.

Terrible idea, that Emporium nonsense.. WHY?!
It was working fine, now you make a mess of something that did NOT require "fixing"

The new background, that I like, finally rid of that eye sore.

You're doing a good job at making people want to stop playing more and more. Customer service included..

Hello,

A major update has just been released.

<img height=20 style="margin: -3px 0px 10px 0px;" ALIGN="left"/> ➞ The <b>Emporium Is Opening</b>! This new store is divided into two areas to help you find what you're looking for: Currencies and Offers. With this new layout, all our current offers are now consolidated under one roof.

<img height=20 style="margin: -3px 0px 10px 0px;" ALIGN="left"/> ➞ We now have a <b>new background</b> on Howrse, and some other pages also received a background makeover.

<img height=20 style="margin: -3px 0px 10px 0px;" ALIGN="left"/> ➞ The <b>"Champion Seed"</b> is being replaced by the <b>"Prodigy Horse"</b>.

Find out more details on the <a href="/jeu/log">Dev’s Corner</a> page!

Let us know what you think about all of these changes.

Have fun playing Howrse!

Why do you bother with pre-rpod, when you are jjust gonig to IGNORE the input you're getting? WHY?:
Why do you ignore your player base, that is the one that PAYS so you can ruin ... I mean, "improve" the game?
Hello, is this thing on? *taps mic* Guess not, since we're not being heard...

I really wish we could choose what background we used. I personally really liked the celebration background because it was easy on my eyes. As nice as this new background is, there's too much going on with it, to the point that it's giving me a headache.

I like to track back on the background thing:
The Celebration one did look better with some coats / customization items.
The option to switch would be a great idea indeed.

Why did you make a background for all the horses?

For example, I collect RGA without backgrounds, and for GA I pick one that fits better.

It’s better for him and others to have a blank background than this one. Why can’t he just be a figure without a background?

I actually like the new background, but that's literally the only thing I like about this update. The Emporium is ridiculous and I just love, LOVE, how they once again ignored all the testers on the *testing and feedback server* and did whatever they wanted.

What is the point of testers if you aren't going to listen to them.

Emporium is pontless. And havinh to click/scroll/click is horrible to gain 200 equus that ptrviously were given automatically. Dont like this change!

It is absurd to change what doesn't need to be changed — the 200 daily Equus we now must remember to collect.

Why the pointless Emporium?

Players are greatly displeased.

It is hard to fathom why the development team continues to push for these unpopular changes. Why make players waste their time giving feedback for pre-pod only to be ignored?

This “Emporium” thing is literally one of the worst ideas you’ve had in a long time, and given the “update” that went down like a sack of lead bricks during the summer, one would hope you learned your lesson but NOPE—

I don’t need to ADD to the list of pointless clicks to get to my pass history. At this point I’ll just leave yet ANOTHER tab open to my history page.

Having to COLLECT my daily breeder’s privilege? Nope default smiley (n)default smiley (n)default smiley (n)default smiley (n)

And nobody asked for this awful new background. Just give us back the background we had BEFORE the 20th Anniversary. What the heck is wrong with you??

Clicky game just got clickier. How dare you make me grind for what should be freely given? "Privilege" we have to grind for is a "chore," and I sharply detest that.

It's freshly-expelled manure like this that encourages me to think about writing an automatd script to play the game for me. "Get passes for playing mini-games with special horses for a month, maybe get a prize if you come here and click on this every day, age this horse a year and get a 'diamond'" 80% of this "game" is a clicky waste of time. Now you've made it worse.

-No wait, it's inaccurate to compare the new emporium to manure, as manure is actually quite useful, and has a far more appealing aroma than what's been created here.

Something I don't really get. Over these last few months, you've removed several useful options from the drop downs. (piggy bank, employees, and most one click buttons to the forums) Why, with this in mind, have you added another one, when the options at the top of the page offered all of this in one place and without the need to scroll? The change just seems completely pointless to me.

Games making increasingly worse decisions to try to force daily log-in numbers for their shareholders is one of the worst things about 2026.

If you want us to log-in daily, give us actual content and incentive. Right now, besides the same events recycled over and over without a break between them, constant sale offers and new Divines that take longer and longer to pay out, there is literally nothing for us to do.

If you want us to log-in daily and spend money, fix the game economy. Nerf all the accounts using bot scripts and trafficking (and there are thousands of them, by the way) so people actually have any shot in hell of making rankings without having to resort to those things themselves on an even larger scale.

Forcing us to have to scroll through a page of typically egregiously priced "offers" each day just to claim something you used to give us as an automatic log-in reward anyway is a frankly baffling decision that disrespects all of the players who are still here, still playing fairly, still keeping the game alive.

I wish they added an option between being able to choose background for our horses, from the ones they provided, or not have a background at all.

Also, I don't mind the Emporium so much. Like, if it just existed - ok, cool. But what is annoying - having to manuakky get your priveleges. I wouldn't even do it, cause 200 equus just not worth it, but I hate! having unread notifications anywhere

The Emporium would be ok, if it wasn't "mandatory" to get what you used to get without any effort. default smiley (lol) Like, I am glad I got the equus daily, but yeah, no, I am not going to go dig for it and I am not going to buy anything else there either. Not sure why the Dev's are making this game more clunky, but here we are.

Though I like the new background (MASSIVE improvement over the anniversary one, I didn't like it at all), would it not be easy to implement a feature where you could toggle which background you wanted for your game??

Like you could have the anniversary one if you played through it, or the classic background, or this one, ect.

I absolutely hate the addition of the Emporium though, and I likely will no longer remember to claim my daily coins, which seems very unfair.

Can't we just get a choice from a few options for our default background? I personally don't want buildings/fences/other horses/ etc. Just a simple meadow will do.
