'Simplified rides have been adjusted: If a horse's energy is insufficient to complete the set duration, the maximum possible duration based on its energy is now automatically selected.'

Is there any way to turn this off? Normally, if the game lags, the feeding doesn't register, or I click too fast, the ride block would just bounce back and prevent the action. Now, it just drains my horse's energy to zero instead. I'm not paying for the VIP subscription to set a 4.5-hour ride only for the game to do 4 hours instead...
I totally get that it's useful for some playstyles, but there's really no reason for it to work this way by default. They could have easily added a simple toggle checkbox on the rides page like 'Automatically adjust ride duration'. Plus, nowhere in the UI does it even inform you that the duration you select is now just a suggestion rather than a hard limit.

You can turn simplified rides off by clicking on the gear above the box. And do rides manually.

But I don't want to do them manually. That's the whole point of using the "Set the simplified ride duration for every type of ride" perk - so I don't have to manually pick the time every single time. If I set 4.5 hours, I expect 4.5 hours, not 3 because the game changes it.

As long as you keep enough reserve until the end of the day, say stroke and a carrot or mash it doesn't matter if you go down to zero but you will get the maximum skills for your horse each day. Before this change if you wanted to max it out you had to switch to manual for the last ride or do training instead.

I’ve been playing this game for 14 years, so I know how it works. That is my daily routine. The problem is that if the game lags, doesn't register the feeding, but STILL registers the ride, it completely drains my horse's energy. Before this change, the game simply wouldn't allow the action because of low energy.

XElis you set for 4.5 yeah now I can see why its annoying now. I never used the simplified rides in the first place just tried it because of the new changes.

My simplified rides are set to 5 hour blocks because it makes it easy to complete rides without having to check the detailed stats page. 10-5 hour rides in the correct location completes skill gain. Choosing the duration of auto rides is a VIP perk that I'm paying hard earned PASSES for. The game shouldn't be able to override a perk I pay for. My perk, my way. default smiley :@

Nope - can't see that. I assume you use imgur. The images can no longer be seen by those of us in the UK.

Agree. Also the minus that they've added on the competitions page looks messy and is totally unnnecessary.

I immediately blocked this with ublock, so annoying. It's also very annoying that I now have to remember to manually claim privs everyday, this is not a very player-friendly update

Can we please have a way to get rid of the giant red notification over the 'trade' tab. default smiley (d)default smiley (d)default smiley (d)

Seriously, was this not tested at all? Also the background just straight-up didn't update. It looks exactly the same on my end, which, if it's gonna be as glitched as the emporium page maybe that's a GOOD thing. default smiley (n)

Also collecting your daily privileges in the emporium tag is stupid and it's a stupid way to get people to look at the promos. We know where the promos are cause there was already a giant screaming notif every time there's a new one in the events banner. Ok. We KNOW.

If you guys are losing money it's cause you keep making unpopular changes that your players hate and chasing them off the game, which, this appears to be just more of the same. Holding the daily privileges hostage to advertise at us isn't it. default smiley (n)

Hello,

A major update has just been released.

These are some of the new features:

➞ Welcome a brand-new series of divine horses: Fruit & Vegetable horses!

➞ The Emporium Is Opening! This new store is divided into two areas to help you find what you're looking for: Currencies and Offers. With this new layout, all our current offers are now consolidated under one roof.

➞ We now have a new background on Howrse, and some other pages also received a background makeover.

➞ The "Champion Seed" is being replaced by the "Prodigy Horse".

Find out more details on the Dev’s Corner page!

Let us know what you think about all of these changes.

Have fun playing Howrse!

P.S. I agree with other players that having to click for the daily priviliges every time is a very strange move. Maybe to make people spend more of their Black market items when they forget to activate them...

but why then make more barriers to get petty 200 Equus daily? It annoyed me when I had to clear this pointless notification, but now it's even more clicking for a very small reward.

If I don't buy your offers, I won't do it if I look at them more often. Maybe it'll work for some people, so you really don't care for those who dislike it and don't buy the offers...

Oh gee, yet another pointless notification that I'm literally never going to click on. I can hardly contain my joy about this update.
