And for those who don't like landscape because it causes discomfort in their hands playing in the browser allows you to use portrait. Personally I've never found the need to download the app. In fact I think I'm allergic to the word 'app'. default smiley :)

Also, now the two versions are practically the same we can answer questions in forums with far more accuracy than before when we did not know which version people were playing on.

Still mad about trophies.

You know what? I'm still so mad about trophies I need to talk about it AGAIN. The biggest category being special horses with the second being events is wild to me. Collecting special horses and completing events is next to impossible without spending money, making it clear where howrse's priorities are. Which would be forgivable, the devs deserve to get paid, I don't expect games to not priorities profit, but I have 0 motivation to work on any of the other categories because of the erasure of my progress. For example, under the breeding trophy it says I've only bred 16 horses... um, I used to play competitively??? I have an aging point farm with well over 300 horses I've personally bred. I dedicated over a decade to this game and they erased all of that by resetting trophies. It's been a few years now with no changes or real apology for messing everything up so I have zero hope for the future of howrse. I log in periodically because I have friends and old horses I want to visit but I'm left feeling sad every time I do. This game was my life and it might as well have ended in 2023 when the trophy update rolled out. Because genuinely? What was the point in anything I did if it was going to end up erased?

please explain how, because there's no way I can find to use portrait mode and I've never used the app in my life, just mobile browser.

Give us a QUICK ACCESS button to Gameplay section of the forum.

You moved most of the interesting topics to that section, so give us a quick way to get there, please. Spoiler Forum, Retired Coat, Luck item topic, every single FT was moved to that, so PLEASE give us a quick access.

I second this! Why bury the most popular topics at the bottom of the trenches?? Since the layout change, everything, but especially the forums, have been done in a way, that is not user-friendly at all.default smiley (d)

Stop "fixing" things that aren't broken. Are you trying to frustrate your players into leaving the game?

Make the topics in the Gameplay forum IMPORTANT topics. We risk losing them.

Make the standard ones important!

Stop fixing things that arent broken! I can almost guarantee no one has complained about the previous layout lf the forums. And if anyone has, there definitely has never been enough to warrant this change. You dig your own grave howrse, you just want to bring new players in who aren't guaranteed to stay, and disregard all your older players ( I used to play on a different server for years ) who have actually shown loyalty towards you. And then you'll act surprised when these little things that we complain about drive us away. It isn't this change that has annoyed us this much. It is thd constant ignoring whatever we say, "fixing things" that NEVER needed to be fixed, and even then, "fixing" them the wrong way. And on top of that, NOT LISTENING to your genuine players.

I wouldn't be surprised if you lose valuable senior players. And these new players you are gaining aren't all staying. The only thing keeping me, and other players I have spoken to say the same thing, is nostalgia and we find it hard to let go of a game we put so much into. Yes, changes like this one may be tiny, but you have made so many "tiny" changes over the years that they have now become big.

This problem is not what I am primarily complaining about. We are just sick of you NEVER truly listening to us. You sometimes make compromises, but that is barely enough.

Yes they are now tucked at the bottom of the forum list.

Also has the Howrse-Breeding content disappeared or can I just not find it. I know it was not much used for posting but Dr Zigs blupping guides are invaluable and I often directed players that way to help them understand how it all works.

Please say we are not expected to go back to 'Can I have a blup schedule for Arabians?' 'How should I blup my hackneys?' etc.

They moved it to "Gameplay", which makes it really uncomfortable.

They should add a shortcut to Gameplay and make the important topics IMPORTANT, or they'll be deleted within 30 days.

The Spoiler Forum, the Retired Coat Gallery and the Luck Item have a history of over 10 years within the forum, do not let them be deleted!! default smiley (b)default smiley (b)

I can add Dr Zigs blupping guides directly in the main topic, if that helps?default smiley (ow)

Please do not spread untrue information. They will not be deleted within 30 days. Topics on the new forum will be deleted after 180 days of inactivity.default smiley (ow)

I have created a topic regarding the forum changes: Forum changes

Let's move the discussion over there, please, and leave this topic to discuss the Devs' Corner.

Thank you!default smiley (ow)

That is a relief to know. Thank you so much! default smiley :)

In my defense, the post was made BEFORE the explanation that the new forum had different rules. Normal threads have always gone in 5 days for normal forums and 30 for Events forum, so it was impossible to imagine a 180 days cap would be applied.

But I'm glad this is not true for the new forum. Thank you default smiley (l)

(Caps is for emphasis).

You are very welcome Nalu, and no worries!default smiley (l)

I have added that information to the feedback topic to clarify and to assure everyone that they will not be easily deleted.default smiley (ow)

Also, not sure where or how long you got those times from, but they are outdated.default smiley (m)

Have fun!

Stop messing around with things that don’t need changing. Players don’t like change, especially if it is completely unwarranted. Seriously Howrse you are doing our heads in.
Have you never heard the saying, if I isn’t broken the don’t fix it. default smiley :@default smiley :@

I am once again asking how on earth you're switching the site back to portrait mode, as I've been unable to care for my horses almost entirely since the landscape-only change, and you never replied how to fix it.

also @Ow, why is mobile browser not allowed to see the top bar, since that's the ONLY difference between the "mobile" (more like "anti-mobile", but I digress) and desktop mode? I'm not allowed to have a basic feature simply because I have to either click to switch the site back to desktop view every six pages or save my own sanity?

(by "top bar" I mean the navigation menu that links to the breeding farm/etc WITHOUT having the obnoxious flashing migraine-inducing screen covering thing.)

You can't go back to the old version, but you can play holding your phone or tablet in portrait view on the browser. Font is pretty small while holding in portrait view on a phone though. I always have to zoom in or rotate to landscape to read stuff.

To get the desktop version bar at the top on a phone or tablet browser you have to switch to "desktop site" in your browser setting. On google chrome, tap the 3 vertical dots in the upper right corner, and select "desktop site" towards the bottom of the menu

Sorry. I had to play around with my phone a bit because I try never to use itlol. It was automatically going to portrait on the web version.

If you look in settings you should have something called auto rotate or similar. My phone is an android but with that switched on it toggles between portrait and landscape when I turn the phone. Not sure if its the same for i-phones but they must have something and it will almost certainly be in settings.
