Am I correct in understanding that buying horses with special coats from sales no longer goes towards the trophy/collections? I have been away from the game for a bit. If so, thats a bummer. Thank you!

It goes towards collections, but not the trophy. They're separate things now.

I'm not going to touch on the BMIs, but what's the point of the Change Log if we aren't being told about changes made?

This BLUP notification is a new change (a useful one, at least), but isn't mentioned anywhere.

I think it's fantastic i don't have to age anymore if they have their wins or you finish training on a skill.

default smiley (li)default smiley (li)default smiley (li) Seriously? If Howrse is going to make items permanently available in the Black Market then players should be refunded what they paid for getting the Divines that give said items as prizes. This update has just made 8 of my Divines useless.

They're probably trying to increase competitiveness of the Grand Prix as I can see from their bonuses which would mean even more profit for Howrse overall versus just paying for divines that drop them so... default smiley ^) It would definitely be painful for regular Prix participants (especially ones aiming for the Fountain) to have to keep buying those directly from the BM for every single Prix horse... default smiley (o)

Luckily, I just breed my horses for fun, but am I seriously starved for Hestia's Gift divines for my draft unis... after several Ascent rotations, I still don't see any. I would hope they don't put that in the BM, though, otherwise the price of unis will drop to nothing. default smiley :-x Fingers crossed? default smiley (a)

It now means you don't have to find someone who has an iris coat or piece of special tack that is needed if you're trying to win the "divine of the month" by winning the most rosettes. It is annoying that I chose divines that give me some of those items but on the bright side now everyone else can buy from the black market when they are short of things and not walk away because they don't have friends who could otherwise help them out. default smiley :)

I feel like the piggy bank shouldn't count for passes, just equus. I'm fine getting some off of my equus sales but for pass sales it is SUPER frustrating, especially considering I'm trying to keep my VIP

they get a "cut" from passes not because the piggy bank exist. it's because they need the pass amount in the game to lower itself when going from player to player via market.

Except this isn't fair when it's a currency that players pay cold hard cash for.

This currency is NOT exclusive to "cold hard cash" and is obtainable via many other ways.

The game economics needs all kind of currency to go down somewhere considering it's openly transactional between players and keeps being generated all the time via objectives and divines. It's healthy for the in game market too.

I see thousands of passes usually go into luck items, Ascent, and events, especially Premium Keys, and obviously VIP, though, so the Piggy Bank isn't necessary for that purpose... default smiley (8) Equus aren't a premium currency and are easily acquired and used for general activities, so it's fine to tax that, but passes ARE premium and are generally limited when given out, so it's expected that when they're deducted, it's to buy something you want, not when you are selling a horse (usually an important one) and only get 90% of what you priced it for. Other things that cost passes are expensive, too, so it feels a bit overkill that even 10% of passes in sales are taken away. It's also annoying to 111% the price (figuring out what 111% of the passes you want so you can offset that tax) for every horse you want to sell, too. I just want to sell the horse for the price I want and then they can tack on that tax automatically for the buyers if they REALLY want. default smiley ^)

I think the more likely reason for the pass tax is that they wanted to discourage any foul play between players who might be trying to "donate" passes using the horse sales system, so getting less passes from the sales would be a turn-off. I don't know how useful that is, though, since it seems like only multi-accounters would do this, and they can easily slip under the radar without being caught by Howrse if they use VPNs and are cautious about their activities and such, and obviously they wouldn't care about the pass tax so much if they just used their burner accounts to grind passes via daily objectives with and donate them to the main account by selling unwanted horses to them for passes or the like. default smiley :-x

I DO personally think the Piggy Bank is useful since you can easily buy BMIs for equus (I use it for Medusa's Blood, Helios' Ray and Nyx Packs mostly, and it's my lifeline for those default smiley (7)), but I don't think we need passes to fill it up. I guess they thought throwing passes in there would equalize the Piggy Bank's effect, though, since players aren't paying passes for those BMIs for those 24 hours? default smiley (a) There's some in there that few would actually pay passes for, though (like PoCs and Lyres and Blankets), so that reason doesn't actually make sense.

It just shows that you do not understand what you talking about. Market with it's pass transactions is HUGE part of it all. It does make sense for it to be taxed. I don't like it as a player, but I agree with it from game design POV.

Again. Piggy bank exist as something little extra to sweeten the whole tax deal. NOT as the base reason for it. Meaning they could easily still take cut from pass sales and not contribute to piggy bank or anything else.

Without looking at the statistics of how many passes are being created, destroyed and traded in total on each server, it's hard to say for sure whether the pass tax is for balancing things out. I think it has more to do with curbing cheating, like the example I gave about multi-accounters which seems like the reason for other things like the Item Exchange limit and friend gift limit and the limit of a certain number of days before you can sell a horse back to the same person. Obviously limiting the amount of horses you can sell would be silly on a horse game, so adding a sales tax was probably more appropriate. Multiplayer gamedevs typically think about the issue of cheating the most especially when real money is involved. When I implemented leaderboards in my indie game, I felt more paranoid about whether players would cheat those rather than actually making sure they can even solve the levels. default smiley :p I probably shouldn't have since it's indie anyway and no real money, but it's the principle.

I'm pretty sure Howrse would think more from the perspective of players that create passes via paying for them rather than the F2P players anyway, so that's why everything's more expensive to buy with passes, but I personally don't mind since I don't have any expensive things to do on this game. default smiley ;) I just don't think pass balance was a BIG reason for the sales tax, but it's great they added the Piggy Bank later on since players were probably complaining about it. default smiley (8) I love the Piggy Bank though since it's the only thing I ever use equus on since I don't want to use passes on any BMIs (except for GAs of course, since it seems like those never come up in the Bank), but others might disagree. default smiley ^)

default smiley :o The background just changed! I'm having fear-of-changeitis! (Whatever that means!)

Anyway, this is a fine BG change, since it's aesthetically pleasing. Just in time for me getting Hela, I guess. default smiley :-)) I hope Vigniti turns out to be a great divine to have (especially since I wasn't there to get Quindecim)! Is it actually true Howrse is 20, though? Even I'm not that old! default smiley xd

I like the new page except for the 2 upside down horse shoes being the zero in 20. Sorry, but is this an indication that all the luck is running out for Howrse.....or us? It's important to do your research developers, especially on a horse game!

I don't like the 20th anniversary background. It is too cartoonish. I wish there was a way to opt out...

I liked the other background because it looked like the horse was in pasture or a meadow. Now the horse looks like it's in town standing on a hard surface.
