Im on mobile and out of curiosity I went to see and found it at the bottom after choosing special horses. You can also go to collections and see Christmas tea. He is already on the game though for those who got him in the Christmas packs so its not really a spoiler or anything since they are now active.

Oh, I never even looked at the Christmas packs. I had no idea they were already out. Well, chances are they are not going to be the Ascent Divines. Mainly because they are coming out already, and also they give passes. Heaven forbid we earn a Divine that isn't useless.

Usually, there are no passes needed if you don't lose any time at the event.
For blast, this means, you don't leave your chests open for too long. You want to have all the available slots filled with closed chests, to let time do the work for you (of opening the chests, so you don't have to use that many boosters).
I've always been going for the biggest chests (which require more time to open) and I made it without the use of passes. (The last time it was a shortened event as well.)
Some players prefer to go for wooden chests though - they take less time to open, so you can get more of them => a little faster progress towards the main prize, but a little worse prizes maybe.

I'd just recommend for the use of boosters: (boosters reduce the time remaining for 1 chest by 4 hours)
* check, whether you will be online at the end date of the chest
* if not, try to use boosters when it's about 4*x hours left on the timer (4, 8, 12, ...) so you make the most use of a booster
There is no point in using a booster if you think "oh, this chest takes 6h to open. But I'm only back in 7h. I'm gonna use ONE booster now, so it takes 2h until it opens." Even using two boosters, you'd "lose" 2 hours (could reduce the time by 8h, but you only have 6h left). If you're actually back in 7h, you'd only be losing 1h in this example (6h used, 1h just an open chest).
