Does anyone know if there is a new coat for the Marwaris? I thought they would get the new Teke coat (which I love!), but they haven't!

Skip back to page 245. A couple people posted lists of the new coats. Mawaris are included. They are similar to the Teke coats, but have slight differences. default smiley (y)

WARNING! The following is my opinion and you may not agree, so no hard feelings since you read the warning.
I am unhappy about the Friesian coats. The others are okay, but these are upsetting. The old picture was better than this new version, so I wish it was kept the old way. Yes the artists must have tried hard, but I personally do not like this picture. No, I am not saying I could do better.

Oops, sorry, ignore my other post. There's a list on page 244, not 245. Sorry. default smiley ^)

I fully agree with you, I was in shock when I saw mine, thought I pulled up wrong horse, no feathers or mane, thin tail. All their glory is gone.default smiley :(

Thanks Grinning-Kitty!! That helped default smiley :) Definitely like the new Marwari coats as well! In general, I have to say that I think most of the new coats are an improvement. The only one that I don't particularly like is the new Mustang coat in comparison with the old one, but that is just my opinion! Overall, I think the artists did a great job default smiley :d

I'm not satisfied with the new Friesian coat at all! What happened to my beautiful steeds? They were majestic. The perfect example of this elegant breed! Now, they look nothing like what they are supposed to be. Their coats are dull, mane and tails look like they have be hacked off. The feathers are gone! These horses are known for their feathering! And now the Friesians have none! If anything, they look like a horrible version of a Friesian sport horse. I'm so disappointed in this change. I hear the Gypsy Vanner is just as bad. Please bring back the previous coats! I can't believe that these breeds, and many more are being portrayed with such horrible disrespect. I'm an amateur artists and I can make a better representation than this...and that's saying something!

I totally agree! I hate the look of the new Friesians, (no offense to those artists who spent so much time on these) and I honestly think the gypsy vanners look horrid!
I agree with Grinning-Kitty87 (who wrote; "I'll admit I'm not overly fond of the new Friesians or Gypsy Vanners, but still they do look nice. All the other new coats are really pretty, though. Especially Akhal-Tekes. Those are my favorite new coat so far.

Everyone just has to be sooooo nit-picky about every tiny detail. Oh, the neck on this one is too thick! The tail on this one is too long! The shadows on this one are too dark! Picky picky picky picky. Sheesh... It must be tiring for some if they have to see every teeny-tiny little flaw in everything.")

I agree. I just started breeding the Akhal-Tekes because I think their new coat is the most beautiful of all.

The Friesians and Gypsy Vanners could use some extra work, though...

I've tried to draw Friesians too. I usually have issues with the feathering and the body. I can draw the head and part of the neck, and it looks fine, but I've tried to draw a complete Friesian dozens of times and each of them turns out just plain awful default smiley (lol) Lets just say that, even though the new Friesian coat isn't the best, any of my drawings of Friesians look WAY worse!

Most common ideas in the old Ideas Forum:

"New coats!"
"these coats are old, we want different coats for horses!"
"we should be able to see tack on horses!"
"visible tack on horses!"

Now that these are coming into effect...

Now a lot of people are complaining one way or another. (Not including people that give constructive criticism, I understand the difference)

Poor Howrse Team.
I cannot comprehend their frustration. default smiley xd

Agreed. I actually just started breeding KWPNs because I really like their new coats, but I really dislike the friesian and gypsy vanner coats.

I might stop breeding Friesians, but I don't know. It depends on how well I handle looking at them every time I take care of my -Diamonds in the Sky- Friesians.

I remember some of my first days on howrse I would look at the gypsy vanners and think: "Those are so cute! I love them! I wish I could get one..." Now there's no chance of me keeping the ones so have!
so since the most recent (that i can anyway) list of new coats does not include several breeds...does that mean that no one knows what they will look like or that those are not changing?

I do not agree that we should make such a fuss over opinions. Over course they coats aren't "perfect"!!! Nothing can or ever will be perfect! That's just the way life is! But the creators did work their butts, hands, eyes, and everything else off to try to satisfy us. How dare us complain because of something we actually asked for!! This is ridiculousness!

Now Im done fussing! Good Bye!!!!

I've heard several times that all the breeds are going to change, except Highland ponies, of course. So, I'm guessing the new coats of whatever breeds aren't listed just haven't been discovered yet. Which ones are missing?

Yup, they've gotten new coats. Theirs was a more subtle change than most of the others, so it might be a little hard to tell. They are different, though. default smiley (y)

I am not overly fond of the Friesian coats...the head and neck are too small for the body and the muzzle almost makes it look like a dog with the ears that way.

Most of the foals are not good looking. I was keeping most of my trophy horses as foals because they were better looking but I am afraid to age them because Howrse may decide to change the adult ones again to even worse ones.

I loved the old Shetland coats but now, I really don't like the new...

I am a bit disappointed this time round and not sure what I might do...too bad I have a VIP account until the end of November...

What will Canadian horses look like?

Also, is Shagya Arabs going to be the same as regular Arabs?
the main one i'm hoping will be changed to better match the standard is the morgan...they should have an image closer to the PSH than the standardbred

however, there are so many new breeds, the list looks like it's only got about half of them

Canadians already changed. You can look them up in the sales or the directories. And yes, Arabs and Shagyas still share the same pictures. default smiley :)

I only have one Friesian, and that's just for the trophys. So I'm good. But I really did like the old Friesians. The new coats are so dull, and they're not much of a black but more of a grey-ish color.

I do think that the coats are very well thought about and well created. I do admit that the Friesen coat is a little "Different", but it isn't like I can draw another coat that looks better. Besides that, I am well satisfied with the new coats. Anybody with me?

I'm with you; I actually enjoy the new coats a lot more than the previous coat versions. Yes, just like many of you, I wish there were some minor tweaks with the breeds, and different images for each breed, but it just doesn't matter. Sure, there might be things that might be "wrong" with the image compared to the real life breed, but so what? Maybe the neck is a little "thick", or the mane is "too short", or the body is "too long", and so on; honestly, just deal with it. I'm quite thankful for the change, and it's quite annoying having to see player after player whine about how the image is "wrong". It's a *drawing*, so of course things will be different than the breed in real life... Rant over. (Sorry if it sounds like I'm repeating myself a few times throughout the paragraph.)

Anyways, I absolutely adore the new Connemara, Curly, Fjord, Brumby, Akhal-Teke, Icelandic horse, and Highland Pony images. :3 (Just going off of the changed images, not the previews of the soon-to-be-changed images.)
I love the new coats I'm a bit dissapointed with the mustangs thought I wanted them to be rearing or something

I've moved onto breeding akhal tekes I think there stunning

The freishan needs some tweeking though but if you like them you can keep breeding them just put a golden apple on them

The curlys I don't %100 like
