Does anybody know what coat is coming out tomorrow?
Ahhh. The famous coat complaints O.o oh how I remember when the V2 coats came out back in 2010, everyone complained. I have no complaints on these coats, the graphics are getting better. Needless to say, you will all get used to it. In a couple years, the coats will change again. That's Howrse for you.

So true, I wasn't around for the coat change, just logged on one day after and got a surprise, I can imagine the complaints being pretty huge but now everyone seems to love them.
I was never particularly fond of them but I love most of the new coats coming through , they are huge improvement on the current and no doubt will get used to the rest and so will everyone else. I still miss V1 in a way though, I had a weird obsession with mouse grey arabians default smiley :p

I am actually becoming quite fond of the new Frisians. The old ones looked a bit like they have some muscle problems with their back leg, it looks like it is caving in...

see what I mean?

Whereas the new ones have much fuller shape, they don't look as flat

Howrse uses the 'free to play' model of gaming which only works by constantly updating the game. It's not something unique to Howrse... Neither are the constant complains every time something is updated default smiley (lol) But it must work or else Owlient would be out of business by now.

I am happy with the new coats that are coming in. I think the top three would be- Akhal-tekes, Purebred Spanish Horses, and I do like the new Arabian horses. Though I do agree that the Friesian horses do need a bit of tweaking, but it's not like I can do any better. And I think the Shetlands are very good as well. So far I say that I like the new changes to the horses ;3

Oh yes... The infamous V2 coats... Oh, my... default smiley :s

The main thing I disliked about them (and I did very much dislike them) was that they all looked *so* very much the same from one breed to the next, with rare exception. There was very little variance from one breed to the next, and then there were the overly long hind cannon bones... default smiley :s

The conformation "hiccups" would bother me much more in a model horse, where it would honestly matter so much more... but the hind legs of the V2's bothered me a lot, and there has been some "post-legged"-ness in some V3 coats that has made me frown on occasion, too. Again, though... these are not model horses, so it bothers me less than if I was seeing it on one of those. (Do not tell this to the sorrel model Quarter Horse on my desk... he doesn't know that his front legs aren't the same length... )

The V2 that I actually did like, despite the hind legs, was the Marwari. He had very, very "hooky" ears and it gave him quite the personality. To quote Sick Boy from "Trainspotting", "Personality, I mean that's what counts, right? That's what keeps a relationship going through the years." default smiley ^) Those hooky ears definitely gave that to the original Marwari coats. (My friends and I would joke that the ears looked like Martians' antennae... that's why my original Foundie Marwari is named Marvin, default smiley (lol)!)

I wish the V4 Welsh was just a bit more "ponyish" in the face... but I like it better than the V3 Welsh (which I did like... I just like this better). The slight ponyish-ness of the V4 Thoroughbred keeps reminding me of my friend's very cute little adopted-right-off-the-track Thoroughbred gelding... I may have to name one for him.

The horse parade today gave me a trotter horse so I think the horse parade gives you a preview of the next horse to change.

I have to say I think I preferred the old Frisian compared to the new one, apart from the fact the muscles seemed a bit wrong. default smiley (lol) I preferred the hair and how it was standing too.

Does anyone know when we will be able to see the tack on the horses? Just a rough estimate date would be perfect.
Oh.. Marh.. GARD! The friesians look terrible! Why did they even change them? I liked them way more before |: I will certainly not be keeping my friesians.
