Box changes

Please explain in more detail as the above is very frightening to me, would the above mean I can no longer keep my ec private and reserve all my boxes to both my friends and / or just myself??

It would be one of the worst moves to delete the possibility of reserving boxes. Don't know what to say really. All the work, what for ? If I, the EC owner and builder can't do with my EC whatever suits me best, why work for it ? And why pay for VIP perks like cancelling boarding of my own horses ? And why play at all if I had the chance to train all horses I want in good conditions and this just gets taken away ?

I am all for helping new players and help boost the new players ec,s I board alot of horses in many levels of ec's each day but to have some one place a high skilled horse age 24 & 10 months old in my ec with no P Stone on and then age it while it's skills reduce would slaughter most ec's prestige as it stands,this is just one example where removing ownership could do serious harm in any top ec default smiley (8)

I sure hope we get some answers here.

I have maintained a 60 lesson EC for years now. The only way that's possible is to have it closed to the public, get a new top dressage skillor every few weeks and limit board to that skillor and Divines.

If I lose the ability to reserve stalls I can kiss all that goodbye. If I set the skill level as high as I can, I will not be able to blup and cancel board as there likely won't be any stalls available, plus I would have to lower the skill level to get the foal in. The odds of then getting that foal boarded before somebody else moves in are zero to none.

Further, where do we then find shower stalls to blup in? Or to raise up a skillor?

This is absurd. Completely and utterly absurd.

I know I will not be throwing away 10 passes a month for VIP if I no longer have EC perks that mean anything. I'm sure I won't be alone in that.

Yeah, I feel the same about this unsettling news Miss Blue :C
The more disturbing part to me, honestly, is the fact that none of the staff have adressed the concerns expressed on prepod as of yet.

lol it feels like Gullifaxi release all over again, where we pointed out the major issues + possible very simple fixes and were 100% ignored. Seemed more like a "we don't care" attitude, frankly. (ps, even a simple "we have read your concerns, however we have already discussed this at length and are sticking to the original plan, is BETTER than silence.)

Equestrian center prestige changes
A comfort rating indicates box size, type of bedding, fodder, treats, and available equipment. This rating impacts center prestige.
The occupancy rate is taken into account in prestige calculation.
Boarders' prestige is revised in order to take the best skill of each boarder into account.
Lessons are no longer taken into account in general prestige. Lesson pricing directly depends on boarders' prestige.

Box changes
Ownership is removed.
Bedding quantity impacts morale loss and energy recovery when sending a horse to his box.
Box quality impacts morale and energy recovery when a horse wakes up.
The boxes and boarders pages are merged.
Boarding fees changes
Boarding fees range from 20 to 200 Equus.
Centers can offer equipment and food to boarders.
Center managers can pick a minimum boarding duration, from 3 to 30 days.

Meadow page changes
Meadow-related information are displayed in a clearer fashion.
You can now filter your meadows according to land surface, fertility, and use (fallow, pasture, or crops)
You can now purchase meadows from the meadows page.
Equestrian center office changes
It is back and now integrates the changes made to center management
Some elements (forum configuration, admin tab) have been moved.
The center registry is added to this page.

Removal of jobs
Bedding will be changed automatically so, grooms are no longer needed.
Instead of saddlers, equestrian centers can provide equipment to boarders, if they have some available.
The riding instructor no longer impacts the lesson fee, which now only depends from boarders' prestige.
A privilege that gives Equus is provided during the tutorial in order to help new players.
What's next...
Here is an overview of what we are planning next.
We will provide further details on each feature as the release date approaches.
The competition management page is updated: competition related info is easier to find and edit.
Inventories, breeder storage, and equestrian center storage are merged.
You pick a location for your equestrian center: the beach, the mountain, or the forest. This location defines the main resource you can obtain (sand, iron or wood).
Production cycles are added to allow harvests, crafting, and product selling.
Rides are easier to manage.
You can now add improvements to your structures in order to improve their quality or output.
Lessons are now missions. Missions allow the horse to receive experience. Howrse owners receive Equus from them, and equestrian centers receive resources.
A tutorial is available when setting up equestrian centers.
Workhorses are added to the game.
And maybe other features to be added in the meantime.


Oh, Mountian. My EC will be atop a mountain.

Took the words out of my mouth. I can blup without showers, foal game without showers, but I CANNOT ride my divines or skill properly without a top EC box with a shower.

And I am totally not restarting since I have spent 50+ passes on buying and training skillers to keep lesson prices, and buying showers and 3* boxes since I cannot afford them in eqqus. If all that work is thrown away by removing the reserved boxes, I would at least like my passes refunded. default smiley :@

I too have maintained a 60e center for years and have the perk to pull my own horses. I've spent a large amount of money buying passes to get my center to where it is. It is not just unfair for Howrse to bring a change that would take that all away from me, it is absolutely absurd. If I cannot continue to use my EC for my personal use, the way I want, then I will seriously rethink spending any more money on this game.

Oops, meant to quote this one as well. I totally agree - I would see little point in spending time on the game if I was unable to use what I worked/paid money for as it was originally intended. I don't know how laws work in France, but in many countries, it is illegal for a company to make changes to something after you have purchased it, since that would change what you originally agreed to pay for. Yet that is something that continues to happen on this game.

I really hope they clarify this ridiculous change soon, as I am sure there are many players, including regular pass buyers, who will not support it.

Here's another one that absolutely does not agree with the reserved-box-change. Makes me furious. I agree with all of the above and don't have much more to add..


I have a question on a different topic though, about the change that's coming earlier. Has anyone thought about whether you should make as much mashes as you can before the change? or is it better/cheaper to wait till after the change? I can't get my head around it.. What I thought about:

You'd have to take into account the cost (/sell) price of the individual items, but also how the items change. For instance, I believe flax and barley are changed into oats, right?
So at the moment we need: 2 (flax) + 6 (barley) + 2 (oats) => 10 "oat" for health mash.
and even more for the other 2 mashes.
After the change you'll need only 2 oats to make mash, so it would be much cheaper to make the mash after the change, right?

But this is only for oats.. We also need to take the other items into account..

After the change you need:
8 = Wheat oat
2 = Oats
1 = Flax seeds
1 = Apple
To make mash.

Is someone willing to help? I can't get any further then this, and if it saves us money it's useful to think about default smiley :p

Maybe we have missunderstood the box ownership thing. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't take away our ability to reserve boxes.

There is some good news, if anyone has noticed- other hrses can be used to keep prestigage up- it will take the horses highest skill into account- it doesn't have to be dressage.

So far with all these changes I am done with this game. It was so good a year or two back and now it just sucks. I'm pretty sure I have spent over $200 dollars on passes for the game and now it's all for nothing. This game is going downhill fast.

I love to have boxes for myself in my EC, and I know everyone, whether they are running a private or public EC, makes good use of the reserve a box function. It would be like howrse removing the stroke function on a horse.
But...Ownership may not be the same as reserving. Rather, I think they may be saying that you will have the ability to sell boxes. Why would they say "Ownership is removed" when they could just say "The ability to reserve is removed". Or maybe they are coming out with a new feature where spots in an EC rather than specific boxes can be reserved. Although that would make things difficult in a new way...
If they are removing reserving boxes, by that time there will probably be some new feature making up for it somehow, like the ability to have certain boxes only have horses with certain GP in them. But I can't imagine howrse deciding it would be time to remove all private ECs and make things difficult for players who use their own ECs for themeslves.

Some, not all of the changes come then. No, restarting the EC was a conversation about how one could possibly get unlimited equus that way if howrse didn't fix it. . default smiley :)

I feel the same way but I haven't bought any passes yet, just in case something like this ever happened. This game was fun but all the changes se making it worse. The Great Challenge is getting more boring than the multiple promos ( in my opinion). At least with the promos they were all different.
