I just don't like this trend to start REALLY strong on a series and then go lower and lower and lower because "People will get it to complete the set."

Fairy Tale horses, Musketeers, and Sherlock Divines, all have the same trend.
Meh.

I'm with Legacy Ann - I prefer horses not to be wearing clothes (nor looking like another animal to be honest but I can live with the chimeras) and the rewards that most give now are duplicates of what older divines give so, as a long time player, I already have a hoard of many things. There's no incentive to complete sets now either so I save my passes and efforts for the few divines and other things that I really want for my game.

Agreed. I'm still collecting them all, but it hurts sinking 6k(+) of my passes for such low end BMIs. I could buy so many RCs with that instead.default smiley xd

I think the only divine that's come out semi-recently that I've felt is worth the investment is Arthur (I guess Watson, too). Because you know his price tag will skyrocket when he's re-released. It's sad, both promos and new divines have gone so downhill this year. It seems like every promo they put out has terrible prizes, and that every divine gives a terrible prize. Not to mention, they purposely made the Crowns significantly more expensive to use than Challenges, because you can only win them in promos (or buy, of course). They purposely made it so you have to spend passes on them, therefore encouraging players to spend real money to buy passes to buy them. Plus, I'm convinced they made lucking out on frags significantly lower. I think I've gone for, like, 6 divines now? Since Crowns were added to the game. And, every. single. time. I have had to max out the entire meter for the divines. Add that consistent price tag onto bad divines, and it kinda feels like a kick in the teeth.

Like, you want money? Fine. But at least make the worth match the price tag even a little bit lol. It's annoying how "cheap" they've gotten. Similar complaint of the trophy divines, too.

Agreed. Like, they're horses.
If they wanted to give them shoes and whatnot, Howrse should've just done their art My Little Pony style. Which would've been fine, if a little dull and inauthentic. (I like MLP, I just don't think everyone should try and be similar... especially with the whole clothing thing.) Horses wearing shoes is just cursed when it's done like this... like something you would hide on the second page of Google.

You say that as if they started off looking all that great. Well, actually, to be fair, the musketeers aren't terrible. But let's be honest, does anyone think Dr. Watson looks all that great? As compared to, you know, basically any one of the solar divines, or even the metal horses, or... any excessively humanised horse?

Didn't we start an account on this game /for the horses/? Doesn't Howrse know it's selling us pixel horses and not people? And sure, they can be inspired by people, but they should still continue to look like horses. Not that there aren't better looking horses in clothes, but the clothing is usually limited. There is this cursed middle area in anthropomorphisation where you create this... questionable looking creature that's neither here nor there and makes you want to question its parentage. Even the chimeras I'd get more than this. And they actually do mix different species. But that could also be because, idk... they're chimeras.

Oh, speaking of... Given Howrse's censorship, I'm surprised this was given a pass:

It's not that it isn't funny... but clearly... for a game which involves kids and pretty heavy censorship of anything remotely suggestive of or related to something inappropriate... idjskfdjhdhdhdhshak

Also, chimeras I like and can get behind... they're whole thing is being a mixture of animals and usually they seem to have some effort put into them... but then you get to some where it's like "we needed this? Really Howrse? Look, you can just say you need money!" default smiley (lol)

Decorating events are cute. I like dress up too, but this is getting old fast. I think all the same but horses run out of energy very fast and it takes a very long time for horses to have fully grown as well as may things including horses are very expensive

You are misunderstanding me.
You're talking artwork while I am talking PRIZES. Rewards.
Everybody jumped onto the Musketeer train because Athos, the first one, dropped a Themis scale every FIFTY day, which is insanely good.
Once they were all on the train, Howrse slowly lowered the rewards. First it was a Chronos Timer and people said "Okay... not... not great there, but still decent. We can dig it". And then they lowered it yet again to a Victory Pack and people by now were INVESTED. They had to get the set (also, consider that back then Trophies were different so...), and so got both Porthos with the pitiful Victory pack and D'Artagnan, which had an even more pitiful prize.

This is what I meant default smiley :)

Actually, I was thinking you were talking about both artwork and prizes...

Also, I dunno... Themis scale is only about as good as what you've got in your inventory, which doesn't seem like much of a reason to jump onto the train for anything. I mean, I sure didn't. So, personally... I don't see the downgrade. It's one of those items that /seems/ cool... but with some smart exchanges you could get better without the scale.

People are willing to trade for way more than the pass worth of a titan's challenge or horn of plenty when the challenges and horns are giivng plenty.

By your own admission, I could use a Nyx Pack and a Scale, get 3 Challenges and trade them up for more and then rinse and repeat.
How is that not advantageous?

Of course, to each their own. Personally scale divines are great. If there were no pass divines they would be my absolute go to default smiley ^)

I also love my Scale divines. It's thanks to Sekhmet that I got so many other divines, because I'd use Nyx Packs won from events to get luck items that I could open on promo weekends.

Combine a Scale divine with a Balios , and you have it made.

My issue is the fact they all have the same price more or less. Vintage apples and a heels are no where close to the value of the m arm, yet they carry the same price tag and probably won't drop quickly enough to put them anywhere close to the same value.

You know what would be good? If ALL divines simply give passes out as rewards. This will be a simple and convenient way to avoid making any BM a no-value item, and thus - avoid making the pixels cheap and unsellable on the market. Anyone would buy any BM they want with those passes, and in the meantime the BM value will remain proper according to the Black Market regulation.

Not to mention that will also save us from piling up items we do not need/want and the need to get rid of them in sales at insanely low prices.......

This would be a problem for alot of reasons.
1. Rare items like Scales and Hermes staffs would become essentially nonexistent.
2. That would be INCREDIBLY boring. It's nice some divines give passes, but having every divine give the same thing would get very old, and most would end up essentially being the same divine just with a different look.
3. Items you can't buy (parade apples, Wanderer's spirits, companions) would become only available through events or promotions. That would seriously mess with the economic system and collectors would be on the losing end.
4. Most players don't value BM items the same as what they're priced at not because there are a lot out there floating around but because of play style. Obviously M arms are worth more than an Achilles heel, but is a WoY really worth more than an Achilles heel? Debatable.

@ Royale

It won't be a problem for any of those reasons. That was the game 10 years ago, when it was actually NOT boring. In your language - difficult, and not easy like now. When things around here had VALUE. When there were other reasons to play besides collecting coats...

God, I miss the old days...

With the amount I have spent on getting certain divines and duplicates of them, I would probably quit on the spot if this were to happen. I've bought these divines for their perk, many of which giving items that can't be bought with passes, items that I am 99% sure that the amount of passes they would give wouldn't even come close to the value of the items they would replace.

Scales are arguably one of the most useful items on the game, they allow you to get 600 passes worth of luck items if combined with a nyx pack, which is a lot if you have a strong herd of divines that give you them. I personally own 18 such divines in total, which is 10800 passes worth of luck items every 2-3 months, I doubt I would get near that amount if the perk was to be changed to passes. These are divines I spent a lot on, alongside the Balios who make this set up possible.

I was also here since the "old days", days I don't miss at all; it wasn't fun being constantly short of equus and resources. To me, the "old days" were boring, while the "new days" actually give me something to do and allow me to feel like I have been making progress.

What's the difference between getting a Nyx from a divine, or getting 600 passes from that divine to buy a Nyx on the black market? Most BMIs from divines are collecting dust in my inventory. I would make much better use getting their BM value in passes and buy items I am actually using in my game. There are now less BMIs that cannot be bought with passes than there were before - and most of those are anyway worthless now on the market - like the magic hat, the hiking journal, most of the spirits, the elements, most pets... In the old days they were worth hundreds of passes, now you cannot sell them for some measly equus. All of them can be assessed accordingly in passes and be put for constant sale on the BM so you can buy them with the passes from divines. Because most players are minors and without any knowledge of real life economics and financial studies they prefer to have easy game where everything is just given to them without any effort on their side, we are now at a point where it's pretty much worthless to breed horses competitively, or unicorns, or whatever... Highest Nyxed skillers selling off at 100 passes (1 old pass), unicorns sitting with negligible prices on the market... What's the use of having divines giving you items you don't actually use and you can't even sell for a decent amount of equus anymore?

Is that what you call progress?... In the old days I knew it's worth trying for a unicorn, because if I sell it off, I get enough to save up for something valuable. Now unicorn sales barely cover the expenses on breeding them. From breeding to improve GP and make profit, I have moved onto breeding to collect GAs and RCs on my unicorns. And that's valid for breeding any pixels. Just an example.

So for me the truth is this one - in the old days I made much more profit than I do now.

But that is never happening.
They will NEVER in the history of forever give you 600 passes in one go. It's just not going to happen.
An item, yes they will, because there's a limited amount of stuff you can do with an Item, even a Nyx Pack. You can either put it on a horse, or trade it. That's it.

But passes? Nope, just not happening. 600 passes a month means that you can afford ANY new Divine for free in 4 months. Less if you have multiple.

If every Divine gave passes, they'd provide a negligible 10 passes per day.

And before you go "Well Jade can drop 1000 in one go!" yes, but it's just a chance. My Jade has given me 200 passes (20 diamonds back then, which were a more manageable currency!) but never 1000. It's that rare. And before the "Well Jupiter gives 300 a month!" yes, but not in one go. They're drip-fed daily so you will WANT to purchase passes. It's why they stopped doing pass-giving Divines before the metals, they had driven themselves into a corner.

It's why they started with the "Tyche Crown". Again, driven into a corner.

The Majority of Divines will always give Items, it's the only way they can somewhat control the economy. default smiley :)

Caps is for emphasis, not for shouting default smiley (l)
