I looked at the new coats, some were good, some looked lower quality and reminded me of some of the coats that were on the original Howrse
They also generally seem a little fuzzy, not as sharp looking and less depth.

I wonder if there will be an option or a vote in the next few months to change just your currently owned horses back to the old version,( or the really old version, I liked those Newfoundland's best, the ones with the turned head).also will the pictures of the horses in the safe haven change or will they stay the same?

I'd also like if Howrse considers to make it optional to show tack on the horses picture, or if you can choose to just see it in the horses items, that would be nice, because I can imagine that some of the horses will look very cluttered to some players who like the more natural look.

Is there a picture of the new donkeys yet? Maybe a couple new coat colors for them too, like patchy ones?

Sorry if I bothered anyone and there might be a spoiler in here somewhere.

People further back seem to think there will be no revamp for the donkeys. Maybe we just haven't found it yet? Hopefully. Also new patchy coats for them would be amazing default smiley (7) !

I am disappointed with the new coats.

I'm disappointed because it feels like a change-for-sake-of-change-and-not-much-more kind of change, when this game has serious issues that could have been addressed instead. Also, it's not much of a change! It's pretty much the same style, pretty much the same everything.

The fact that some breeds look worse after the change tells me that it's a half-hearted attempt to change something just because. Like people have said the result is "sketchy", "rushed", "anatomically quite off". Now, I'm sure it makes perfect sense in some economical, business-related way, but...

I feel like this game could have done *so* much better. It could have been a *real* change, a serious re-vamp of the graphics system that could have been great. Now it's just something, something just because.

But if you can't do something for real, with real thought behind it, making sure it's high quality... don't do it at all? Spend the man-power on something else?

And yes, I will complain. I will complain because I believe that the company wants the players to enjoy playing their game (so they will keep playing and paying), and if the players doesn't tell the company what is being done wrong with the game (in their opinion), the company won't know how to improve. The players would just keep quitting and the company would have no idea why. If I didn't like the game I'd just quit and be done with it, very simple. But I like the game, that's why I'm complaining.

The only new coats that I like (LOVE) are the Brumby coats, warmblood (KWPN, etc) coats, and Knabstrupper coats. Everything else I could do without.

While I'm not a huge fan of some of the old coats, the new ones aren't a huge improvement for some of them. In fact most worse. I like the PSH one when I glance at it, but when I stopped to look you notice things. And the mustang's face looks so weird!

they have to be able to put tack on them.
What!? Oh, for pete's sake! I'm so sick of all these useless changes.

Why can't Howrse stop messing with the aesthetics of the game and look into more creative ideas for, say, promos instead of reusing the same ideas over and over (yes, I know about the Big Challenge- A permanent promo, right? Not sold on that at all) Honestly, I'm not that fussed about promos, I don't take them seriously, but that's all I can think of in rant mode.

There are literally only two reasons I still play- I've been on since 2008 and I have friends on here (Although I could talk to them outside of Howrse)

I thought we were supposed to have polls. I've seen two at most. Nothing about the tack, nothing about the coats. There was something about the atmosphere on the game or something about the players and one about the rate of change on the game. There's way too much way too fast.

There was a poll regarding the possible coat changes--I'm guessing that not everyone sees them, or at least, they are not up long enough for everyone to see...a very high percentage wanted the changes... I know in one case I voted for what I thought would be the quarter horse coat, but it is not the same as the one we're seeing now, it's very odd looking and I would never have voted for it.

But, this happened when we changed to the v3 coats, too...some liked the changes, others hated them, but it changed regardless. I think it's funny how everyone hated the v3 Irish hunter coat, (hunters were the top dressage horses at the time) and now, players are complaining that they don't like the new one.

I'm just glad the lottery (while way too long) gave me plenty of GAs and Harmony packs, I'm going to need all I can get default smiley :)

Anyone know when the trophy page change will go into effect?
Retired breeder wrote:

Well, GV's are not really draft breeds, but they do have similar physical characteristics.

I hate to argue ( I had done a research paper on gypsy vanners and friesiansn default smiley :) ) According to their individual breed registries they are considered "Small statured drafts" Which could arguably be a draft pony. Which could lead one to further argue that they are ponies not drafts, personally i agree in the fact that they are small statured drafts.

... Just scrolled back in a bid to see the new gypsy vanner coat. Wish I hadn't now. How on earth is that an improvement?! The coat as it is just now is so much better!

With these new graphics, each horse consists of five pieces: body, mane and tail, first wing, second wing, and unicorn horn. I understand why the wings and unicorn horn would be separate pieces. It would make potions and other promos that offer rewards for removing horns and wings much easier. What I find most interesting is that the body is a separate piece from the mane and tail. Hmm... That makes sense when you consider adding and removing rubber bands, but it also presents another possibility. Now, this is just pure speculation based on no evidence other than snooping around the media files, but what if... What if Howrse were to introduce different mane and tail styles at some point in the future? Perhaps they aren't even considering it at this time at all. But the possibility is now wide open!

I thought too that could be possible but I dont want to get my hopes up. (Lusitanos with a long flowy mane! <3)

lol, yeah, it kinda does. But, if you search Google for Tennesse Walkers, there's several pictures of them standing like that, so it seems to be the "official judging stance" for them, or whatever you'd like to call it. default smiley :p

I know in one reply you guys were wondering were the poll was for tack, well there isnt and wasnt any polls. As us players there was an idea to were we would see the tack, majority wanted that. So to full fill the request by the players the coats need to change, so blame eachother not Howrse for doing what you asked them to do...
just a little food for thoughdefault smiley ;)
