Its unfair. They do a great job with what they do. It may take a while to get used to, but there not that bad! I happen to like them-change is good!

If people hated and insulted my art I wouldnt like it since I'm not forcing them to stare at it, but here its different. People will have to stare at these 'not well done' coats because its their own horses. How would you feel if you were raising/breeding a horse happily and you love its coats and then suddenly they change it and it looks just plain ugly?
I'll be very sad, some will be angry and nobody will be happy.

Beside these artist are getting paid and its their job to make coats that everyone (or almost everyone) love.

I agree but I remember when these coats came out, there was just as big of a shindig and "the world is coming to an end" kind of talk as there is now. Some people like it, some love it, some hate it, some don't care. It is impossible to please everyone. You will get over it. If you simply can not stand to look at your "ugly" horses you can get a GA or a new breed of horse that you do like. this is a game, you don't have to be on here, Howrse is doing its best, respect them.

No one is forcing you to stare at these coats either. You can put a GA or another coat changing BMI on them. You are not forced to play either. So really no one is 'forced' to stare at anything. I will be happy when the coats change because I like them, so some people will indeed be happy.

Yes, that is their job. But it doesn't give anyone the right to insult the coats in the really quite rude manner they often use.

I'm not saying that all the coats are bad only a few, I actually like many of the new coats. The lusitano is beautiful even if it has no mane showing, its still beautiful, but the Friesan and Gyspy Vanner are too plain looking, they look better on their previous coat. And the Mustang is (ugly) weird looking same with the Quarter Horse.

And i feel "forced" to play because I love this game. I will not quit but that doesn't mean I'm happy with some of the new coats that I will have to see when playing this game. Luckly the horse I breed got a nice coat.

I see your point about not offending the artists, if people state their criticisms of the coats offensively, however people have the right to say what they think because of freedom of speech. As far as I'm aware, under freedom of speech all you aren't allowed to say is slander (which is things which are untrue). As people's opinions of the new coats are, as I said, their opinions they can't be said to be slander under freedom of speech so they're perfectly within their rights to say how they feel about the coats.

Exactly. Neeri, how would you feel if you were the artist they asked to do the coats and everyone hated on your idea and called it names? You wouldn't feel very good would you.

A little common courtesy goes along way. Respect the artists who put in time and effort to create the new graphics. And understand that while their not perfect, they are a slight improvement and a step in the right direction. Instead of being down on something you can cover up with a GA, why not put your focus on more important issues on the game?

Haven't you heard the game doesn't allow free speech. And complaining for the sake of complaining is just redundant and irritating. There are other issues with the game that are entirely more pressing then a graphics change.

I don't like the fresian or gypsy vanner...those two are supposed have feather around the kegs which I classic for the breeds...maybe howrse could adapt them a bit? default smiley :)

This game isn't America or even American based in its origins. Freedom of speech doesn't exist everywhere.default smiley ;) From my experience on the game 'free speech' is not allowed, and honestly if it was we would be having more problems than we are now with the real rudeness in the forums towards new features. Just because 'you' believe something to be true does *not* make it so.

As quoted from paragraph 11 of the general user conditions:

"OWLIENT has chosen to moderate the Players' contributions after posting in order to ensure freedom of expression, while still implementing adequate and available means in terms of Internet in order to respect the laws in force."

'Freedom of expression' means the same as freedom of speech so to say the game doesn't allow freedom of speech is incorrect.

I was told along time ago, that that little thing didn't exist on this game. default smiley :) Which is why i say it's one thing to say "Meh, i don't like the new coats their not my cup o' tea" another thing entirely to completely bash them, rip them to shreads and stomp all over them because you don't like em

I like each of the new coats - I don't see what the fuss is about with the friesians I like them better in fact. I miss that the morgan, tennessee walker, hackney's ,etc won't be in trotting motion anymore. Thats what I liked about them to begin with. And the fjord looks like they gave him a make up kit. LOL I am over all happy with the new coats it makes me feel like they are cheap (really cheap) Golden Apple coats because of the nice quality and such.

So you have the 'right' to be as rude as you wish about the new features and coats then? So as long as what you say doesn't 'technically' break any rules. So it okay to be snotty and rude and make degrading comments about the artist who made the new coats? Some people really don't have the right to their 'free speech'.

The wing of the new coats look so poorly drawn, like they will fall off. default smiley xd I think the artist was trying to draw pigeon-like wings but failed. The previous wings are a lot better. Also since the horses will now wear tack I guess the wings needed to be drawn differently, but in my opinion as an artist they could have done better or hire someone who is very experience in drawing wings. Not complaining just saying default smiley :p

FYI...before everyone jumps to conclusions about the so-called Kelpie. After asking, it's nothing more than a test horse, that was removed because of the graphic.

Because many players who happen to be Americans think free speech is something that is allowed everywhere in the world, when it is clearly not.
