Why even use passes at all and not just plain old wits ? This also stacks the odds in favor of those who use passes. Also removal of a horn isn't fair either to those who only have one or two because they have difficulty breeding unicorns. That's an unfair challenge.

Because Howrse is a business. Passes can come easily if you figure out how to earn them easily. You don't necessarily have to remove a uni's horn. Lately Howrse has been giving us options to skip ones we don't want or can't do.

Seems to me somebody has no clue how math works, ie the odds of winning something. Does Howrse not realize that some of us waited to spend passes during a lottery for that chance at extra tickets? You know, passes that cost real dollars,
the god of all things Howrse. So this handy-dandy little change will keep me from winning 20 extra pixel carrots because I lose 2 extra tickets from spending a pass?
Oh, what a horrible income setback that must have been for Owlient.

Not to mention that...

... the odds of winning the jackpot prizes has been 're-balanced' for quite some time now.

It's not that evident on a large server like Int because of the massive number of tickets per draw, but on smaller servers it is quite apparent that the number of tickets entered have no effect on the chance of winning those high value prizes anymore.

With the right timing, it used to be possible to spend enough passes that a large percentage of the total tickets for a particular draw belonged to relatively few players, and naturally the names of big spenders would appear in the list of winners frequently. But that changed all of a sudden (after the Midas lottery promo if I recall correctly) - now the winners are very heavily skewed to include players who entered relatively few tickets.

If I had to guess, the jackpot prizes act as a separate draw now with each player having the exact same chance (i.e. someone with a single ticket has the same chance as someone who saved up and chose this time to renew their VIP account).

So unless Owlient are referring to some other odds that need re-balancing (and lets face it, what could that possibly be?), their reasoning for reducing the ticket per pass number is a bald-faced lie!

To make a change that was 100% for their own benefit and then willfully lie to the community to make the change more palatable... that's predatory default smiley :(

Do we have any idea what date the next promotion will start? I am anxiously awaiting the slightest chance to obtain another divine to count towards the trophy.

I believe the promo is starting on 1/11/2018.....a Thursday. The promos mostly, if not all, always start on a Thursday
When do you think the next HOP event will be or the next event that is highly dependent on HOP.

Thank you so much vat1 for the advice default smiley :) I appreciate it.

Sorry but Howrse has never realised a date for promo starts and they never verify any assumptions from players so you don't know when the promo will start, it could start then or a week after that.

As far as I know you are not automatically invited and can sign up when spots open up. In the future, questions like this should be posted in the game play forum since this is about something that's already on the game
Anyone know the next promo?

If you read back over the last few pages, you will find the information you are looking for in regards to the next promos.

no you are not automatically invited. however, if you keep your eye on the front page for the game, there is a little box that will say testing is now open. the box on my front pages says..i am a vip..and there are special perks.(paraphrased)

usually the testing annoucement occurs early in the week. so it is matter of timing to find the box. monday/tuesday

As mentioned in the instructions for the event, it's dependent on the "skills of the horse that is accompanying you." You need to use a higher skilled horse.

Now that the event has started, all Maze questions can go in the topic for the eventdefault smiley (y)

My horse Capri is generating 5 paces and hour, if you'd like to use her as a kind of guide she's in my skillers tab, thought that'd be helpful considering it doesn't actually say what's required exactly apart from skill default smiley :)
