Can't win competitions

I have a star horse that was doing fine winning a competition each day for points, but over the last few weeks I haven't been able to get higher than a third place. I noticed the same player is entering literally all the competitions that come up as available and they have horses with thousands of wins and I can't beat them. Is there any way around that?

When someone has blanket entered a lot of comps, sometimes you can find empty comps by altering the sorting on the comps page - set to kitty high to low, low to high, same for difficulty or number of participants.

I feel your pain. I'm trying to get one of my horses to number one in one of the competition rankings, and for several months, intermittently, there was this one player entering all the same comps as my horse, with top-quality team horses that would beat out mine. It got so bad that I would stop entering him into comps when I saw horses with black and blue Lyre names in the comp page. Haven't seen him in a while though.

Depending on the other player's habits, try these:

If the player enters a specific comp event (e.g. dressage or barrel racing) try entering your horse in different ones. You may have to enter a bunch of the different events to see if your horse does well enough, but chances are you'll be able to win at least one in one other type.

If you always play at a certain time of day, log in to enter comps at some other time - maybe your normal schedule aligns with the other player's, and they won't be active at the new time, meaning they won't be in the new comps.

If you have a bunch of aging points to spare, just spam the comp page until the other player's horses aren't being entered into the comps. It takes a good deal of time, and aging points, depending on how many comps the other player is entering into, but I've had luck with this method.
