The Crazy Friday sales!

HellOw everyone!

The Crazy Friday sales will return soon!

There are three different types of Sales:

Direct sales: Different horses will appear throughout the day, but only one of each will be available. The fastest wins the sale! Limited to one purchase every twelve hours.

Auctions: Place the highest bid in Equus to win the divine horse of your dreams! Limited to one purchase every twelve hours.

Reserved sales: Every eight hours, check out a new batch of horses in the Reserved sales tab. These horses will be available to you during this time only, with a limit of one purchase per horse, but you will have the possibility to buy one of each horse offered.

All Crazy Friday sales will be accessible from a separate dedicated hub to prevent any confusion with other sales happening at the same time.

Saffron fragments

With every purchase made during Crazy Friday, you'll earn points that will help fill up a loyalty meter. Reach different levels to get Saffron Fragments.

The sales will start on 2025-11-21 09:00 and will end on 2025-11-24 09:00.

This time matches the time zone chosen on your account.

⚠️ The full program of the sales will be shared when the sales begin.

Good luck,
The Howrse Team

My feedback:

Seconding all of this! I think implementing these changes would make it fairer while still rewarding those who put in the effort to save up.

Love the idea of directs being a 5 second slot. I was thinking Howrse wouldn't want too many copies of the same divine being sold, but then I realised it's not like they limit the amount in luck items... They'd probably have to reduce the amount of times each divine was listed to 3 or 4 times a day, but it does mean they could offer a bigger variety of divines perhaps? And then people would have to selectively choose which ones to go for, compared to the offers this time round where most people were going for the same 5 or 6.

With the divines clogging up the directs, I feel like having multiples of the same divine 'stack' would be the best option - e.g. Irene Adler || In Stock: x2 || 1,399p.

It would be nice if the divines were spaced out evenly over the time zones; I did like having multiple in a row but there were more copies of each divine being listed overnight than during the day for me. Combined with the slower response from Howrse servers due to my location... Wasn't fun.

I agree that limiting the number of copies someone can buy is a good option. There's limits on RS but not either of the other sales, and I think having a limit of 2 or 3 (of the same divine) over the weekend would reflect the additional effort it takes to score one.

With auction timers... why would they not just list the scheduled end time, instead of when it drops? Or list both if it's not going to be a consistent length of time? Genuinely just a bizarre choice to me.

Having multiple auctions actively getting bid on in the last 30 seconds was definitely messy. Perhaps having a 'favourited auctions' area above the current block would be useful? And the cancel bid option would be *amazing*. That's probably why Howrse will never implement it...

Despite accidentally buying Hydruntine (useless divine!!) and locking myself out of auctions for the first day, I'm pretty happy with the four I meant to get! Although it was a lot of wasted sleep trying to get one through directs....

Black Friday sales came at an inconvenient time for me since I worked Fri, Sat, and Sun. Howrse was not on my mind while working because I was just trying to keep people safe on horses all day, so when I went home, what was available in reserved sales was not to my liking. Real meh stuff I wouldn't waste passes on. But I did win an auction for an Oyster Mushroom (4.6 mil), and I won a Kigurumi in direct sales. I say won, because it is a contest to see who has the fastest click. I lost the two before it, so I decided to click slightly sooner in the same spot, and for a few moments I though I accidentally bought a Kabuki instead, but what relived it was Kigurumi. Now I have 19 of them. default smiley ^) The others I won in Ascent.

So yeah, it was ok, but not amazing or anything. Now that we have Ascent, I don't really like paying more then 2,000 passes towards anything really...Except for Balios. I waste a lot of passes trying to get him, since they never sell those.

The bottom line is Divines aren't that special anymore, and now that trophies don't encourage us to collect them all, there is no driving need from me to obtain them. Not when there are hundreds on the game.

I want rare things. Howrse doesn't know how to do rare anymore. They used to discontinue things. Hogs, retired backgrounds, Diamond apples etc. It has been many years since they discontinued anything.

If they were smart they would randomly retire coats and pets, just to keep people on their toes and collecting, hoping they will end up with something very rare.

Honestly this was their best version of the event. As for the 5 sec limitation some of us have RL, and wait three days in front of a screen for the right horse to show up, so a consolation prize is better than bone. Anyway the most important part is how much they made. So they need horses to be accessible. None of our review will beat this.

Crookedstar915 maybe you can exchange the WOY's for tears in the exchanges ? default smiley :)

No, unfortunately. WOYs are almost completely unwanted items and no one will open up offers for them. I've been getting tears in the exchanges for several years now and I know what items are considered of equal value, those are not.

I would have been willing to spend more passes if I could have chosen which divines to buy rather than hoping to be fast enough to win in directs and from a selection which only included a few that I wanted anyway. As I said a long way back in this thread, I'd like to have maybe one opportunity to buy a divine of my choice from the whole lot without having to e fastest on the button. As a player with high seniority, the reserved sales didn't offer me anything I really wanted either, as I have a lot of divines collected over the years, though I did buy one to complete a set - it will sit in my farm of divines I don't touch though so is really money wasted. I also wasn't willing to part with real money for the offer when I have passes so will wait for that one.

As an aside, I wish Howrse would stop making horses with too many legs, wearing clothes or which don't really look like horses! There are some fantastic images of horses made by players in the creation space (some horrors too though!) And I wish the divines looked more like that - the spice set is the nicest I've seen recently.

While not the most thrilling selection and I did end up 12 hours late to the party, I did find some horses to pick up. I cut the number of wind divines I need from 4 to 2, and got the Gemini twins for my Cancer. I started out with around 10k passes (my savings + what pass horses/objectives gave throughout the event) and ended with around 1k so I think I did pretty good. I think I doubled the number of horses I got last year. I would have liked to get one or two more but I’m pleased with what I brought home.

What can be improved:

Selection-
Click to display
What irritated me was that there were a lot of relatively newer divines that I already had the meter at 500+ fragments(again), so those were the horses I tended to stay away from since those fragments would then be useless. I kind of get why, but I think adding fragments of those newer horses(and possibly others) to the program would entice me to spend more. There were several horses I was just like “I would try and get you, but I have over half your fragments already so I’ll pass.” I’m pretty sure I wasn’t the only one. I know a few years ago it was an outrage that there were fragments in the sales but I think the cause was more that it was a brand new horse released just for the event and JUST fragments of that horse, so you had to get all 1000 to get it. If it were fragments of horses already released, the reaction may be different. They just need to be a decent amount (100~2/300 frags) and affordable (<4-500 passes).

Selection(part 2)-
Click to display
Again, I think a lot of people thought the selection was pretty…boring to say the least. A lot of the newer horses from the past year were there along with horses that didn’t have exciting perks. Seeing two, three horses sitting in the directs on day 1 was shocking and kinda set the mood for the weekend. I was surprised but not shocked to see trophy divines in the reserves. I really want to believe that it was a mistake and no one thought to cross reference the list of reserve divines against a list of trophy horses, but part of me isn’t that naive. It really feels like those in charge were counting on the fact that not everyone knows who ALL the trophy divines are.

Layout-

Perhaps a way to isolate the newest direct sale until it sells or the next new sale comes up(and then it gets kicked down to a list of currently unsold horses). It made me sad to see people talking about how they accidentally bought the wrong horse within the last 12 hours of the event, essentially ending it for them, especially if they didn't have the Equus to dump into auctions.

Also, I would have loved a link to the horse's collections page from the horse's name in the program on mobile. It was extremely annoying to have to navigate myself to the collections page, know and find the collection the horse is in, and then find the horse JUST to see what its perk was and if I should put it on my list. There are so many series and divine horses now, its hard for some to keep all the horses straight with everything else going on in our lives.

Auctions-
Click to display
Make it possible to bid more than 100k at a time on mobile(preferably type in your bid amount). It drove me crazy to have to go to classic just to type in the exact amount I wanted to bid instead of spamming the bid button to get to the price I wanted to pay.

Prices-
Click to display
I would have LOVED to know the prices from the start, especially for the reserve sales. I found myself frequently wondering if I should go ahead with a purchase or pass it by because I wanted to get a couple slated to release later in the sales. It led me to pass on Qilin which I was a bit bummed about once I’d gotten the 4 horses I’d wanted that were released after him and still had about 3k left over.

I'm unclear why hiding the prices is such a thing.
If I had the schedule and prices, I'd be much more willing to actively plan and spend passes, and perhaps even buy more passes with actual money.
I try to keep an account of every horse and price that's come through the direct and reserved sales, but lots of times horses will pop up that we've not seen offered and so have to guess. I don't like the guessing game.
Once a horse is released, its price ought to be added to the program page at least.

1,000,000,000 <--- One billion. There are currently only 10 people in general ranking for wealthiest players who have over 1 billion. The person who has 2 billion is cameogirl. I don't think anyone else has reached 2 billion yet. What I think you guys meant was 200 million which is still alot.default smiley ;)

I think they're referring to the goofy way the equus summary records earnings and losses when it comes to auctions. Every bid gets counted as expense, even when you get outbid (which then gets counted as a "contest" earning).

I only bought 50 million equus worth of divines, but my summary thinks I spent 1,123,819,808default smiley (lol)

i think i would like fragments to be in the sales as well, or maybe as a separate event. there are several divines i already have half the fragments for, so to get more (like 50 or so per buy) would be nice

I dont mind so much the wearing of clothes but i like them to look like horses and i prefer pretty ones at least as pretty as hela. I also like them to have decent conformation snd well drawn. I would've bought passes if i could had. I like most of the nordics, gemstones, spice, most of the Japanese horses, fairy tales etc
