It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

Donkeys!! default smiley (lol) There'll be a mad rush on donkeys in the auctions now!! congrats on Adrian's wins, soulreaper -- 'tis a beautiful thing...

Annawe -- I had the 30 day trial of PS but I'm too cheap to buy the software, so I figured I'd see if I could unravel the mysteries of GIMP -- I'm still just scanning my hand-done stuff and doctoring it at the moment, not being able to master the colouring just yet.

gaff - there's much to be said for experimenting..I have two foals out of the same mare - a foundie who, thanks to my newbie ineptitude doesn't have a great GP -- the foals' GP's aren't that radically different even though one has a 1st Gen for a sire (nice GP) and the other a foundie.......I'm getting the feeling it's not completely predictable. So I've decided to match up according to corresponding GP's and not sweat the lower GP's too much. Still, now I'm becoming a bit more fussy with what I'll buy now....

Now, with great trepidation, I'm off to peruse the morning results....default smiley :o

Good job on the wins. Interesting that donkeys are good fillers. I only ever enter in breed specific races, I never seem to win otherwise.

Thanks for the tut links, patches and giz's helped me out a lot. I have a couple in my EC forum I have played with and another one I saved in the middle of playing with. Did one to enter in a contest that I think is nice. Never thought to look in Hokota's forum default smiley xd

Summer only needs 4 more wins then she will be ready to breed and I think she should have enough skills for over 400 hehe.

I have had two more wins in trots. This is becoming a trend now.

Semi-related note...does anyone have a young, red coat colored foundation mare they don't really need that I can coax you into selling? The breed of horse or pony does not matter at all, just has to be female and red colored. Very important to me at this time.

My older sister's cancer became extremely aggressive. It was doing good, we were all tested so the closest blood type could donate cells for her transplant and suddenly, she got worse and worse. They have state experimental drugs they're testing on her now, but pretty much, she's not going to live much longer. I may have to take over custody of my nephew since i'm the only one out of five who is childless.

She loves horses and black labs and is a redhead, so...red mare who will be immortalized will be named after her and now I'm going to set to work on a special coat in her honor and when the earl returns, I'm getting it in the game and I want it to be a rare coat, so maybe 10-15 uses and I'll retire it forever, put it on the mare I'll name for her.

I got elected to be with her while she's home and the traveling nurses aren't there...just like with daddy. I don't really want too because I can't handle watching someone die again. I'd rather be in debt forever paying for a 24 hour at home nurse.

I'm doing really good with the stallion that Yankee Lady sold to me, he's 7 and 2 months and has 50+ BLUP! He's so great, I've gotten him 4 wins so far, several more waiting. He can o many, I can't consume all of the energy just by comps! Ha love him. If anybody would like a covering in the future, please pm me. So sorry to hear Soul.

After failing to get any of my foundation Brumbies to 100 BLUP I am giving up on NIB breeding. I have about a dozen foundation Brumbies to get rid of. I am asking for a pass for Sahara, but all others can go for equus only. I just thought that I would open it up here before moving it to the Negociations forum.

vag. am interested in Sahara, I will see what I can do with him. you do t have to give up on NIBing, brumbies are difficult due to how slowly comps run. try a more common breed like paint, quarter or thoroughbred. NIBing is a difficult task anyway but when races run faster it helps, more variety on what is racing against you

Vag, don't give up on them! How about you contact me and we can run in the same (all breed) comps? I've found donkeys make wonderful fillers for foundies. You need to pick up a donkey, cheap from auctions and train it to it's fullest. They're always kinda pretty low, so they make great fillers. Sadly, you can only enter two horses that you own in one comp. Maybe do two of your brumbies with my donkey and my other mostly finished filler and we can go from there?

Okay I bred together two 100 BLUP foundations one had 350.20 and around 356 + inborn skills The other had 350.90 and 400+ inborn skills

The mare had a wand on when I bought her and I put tears on her.

This is the baby.

Now what I can't get is that the mare and stud that I have with full GP gain of 1.20 between 380 and 420 skills had a foal with less IBS and less GP go figure.

No. I've tried so hard to make NIBs work, but it isn't happening. I've tried fillers for comps, BM items, and sending them to other trainers and gotten nowhere. I've been working on it since November and I don't think I have the skill to do it.

Soul -- oh Dear...I'm so sorry to hear your bad news..I can't even imagine what you must be going through. I would give up one of my red-coats in a heartbeat to your legacy-mare but my only red-headed foundies are colts..I'd happily bolt one for you if you need,though.((hugs))

Rowen- there is an awful lot of head scratching going on over that combo and what it produced....it does suggest a certain random element...

Okay...question...

How often are you guys hooking green-starred horses in your low-skilled comps? Maybe this is just a Newfie thing.....not mentioning any breeding-groups names, of course. default smiley :@ I know I'm likely over-thinking some of my entries but I've had to avoid show-jumping entirely pretty much all week because of one repeat offender....which was fine, I was basically just scoping them out -- but that's what I'm going to be facing and quite frankly it makes me want to fire off a "hey, butt out green monster" message to the aforementioned individual. Like, is 706 wins NOT ENOUGH?!?!?!default smiley (li)

On the bright side, my trot race is running...on the less brilliant side, Caoimhe has had a seconditis relapse....
