This thread is here to show off your Retired Coats. This is not the place to post non retired coats. **The two exceptions would be coats that have been pulled (brief discussions) and the pre release coats.

REMEMBER:

******** absolutely no sales talk, no talk about spares or how many extras of a copy you got and selling them to fund your RC habit this is just a place to talk RCs

* although links and graphics are ok on this thread, they are not allowed normally on public forums

* any negative or unkind comments on artists or coats (or anyone!) will be removed, and depending on the case, it might mean an instant forum ban.

* DO NOT use this as a place to sell your horse/coats-if you feel the need to break this rule, it will mean an instant forum ban...

** Sales ads are NOT allowed in any public forums. Asking for spare coats will now be considered a sales ad. This includes stating that you plan to sell a coat, or point out coats for sale in sales.

* Do not use this place as a spot for rants or complaints-About coats/BG/or each other.

* This is not the place to ask players to price your coats, or to ask others the worth of a coat, you can check uses on your own by hovering your mouse over the gray apple and price it from there.

* This is not the place to bring up the subject of stolen images. Keep in mind that the rules of the BP used to be very different, and many old coats are from that time.
There is not any reason to bring that up, or report the coats.

*Please do not do a coat countdown for soon to retire coats.

* Please do not post coats that are currently in the GA and have either not retired, or will never retire.

* Please do not post coat/bg combos or ask opinions on them, except following coat release.

* Some coats may be removed in the future, whether that be for problems with the coats itself or just because they're clearing room on the server to allow other coats to be uploaded - if you're buying retired coats, please keep that in mind. If you want a permanent copy, I would recommend saving the graphic to your computer

* How to discover who many uses a New GC coat will retire-There is now a coat countdown in the GA, and it will show how many have been used and how many uses there are left.

** There is now a new creations directory which shows all coats. Go to Community>>>Directories>>>Creations>>>Click more criteria, and on the left hand side is a gold and silver apple. Click the silver apple and search to see all retired coats.

* To see who created/how many uses/name/or if you have it already of a RC coat, simply click on the silver apple, and it will tell you.

*** Posting links to other player's coats is NOT allowed and can mean a forum ban.

This question would have been better asked in the game play forum for future reference.

However go to directories (under community tab ) and search Xanthos in the horse option, ticking the special horses only box, then visit one of the horses from the list. The button will show on the page.

Speaking of searching for horses - and the rarest coat- does anyone know what happened to the Cowbra? Like 15 years ago (don't judge me) they gave the first divine out and it was a one of a kind horse named Cowbra. I used to be e-friends with the girl who won him, but I haven't heard from her in ages. I tried to search the horse, and I couldn't find him by name. Just wondering if anyone knows what became of him? Was he just... absorbed back into the game?

@ LMS1022 I think her account got deleted. I don't think that Howrse has ever absorbed a Divine. I looked though all the Divines named Cowbra back in the day trying to find it as well, and concluded that her account must have been deleted. A piece of history lost forever unless someone has an unopened pack of Howrse cards, find's the Cowbra code, and activates it. If it can even be activated.

I remember getting some of those cards during the Los Angeles meet and greet back in the day. No Cowbra card sadly.

I remember the card packs because I won a set during a trivia game in the forum during the holiday season of 08. I got one of the first Sleipnirs in my cards and mine was a fire colored one… he’s still on the game (last I checked anyway) because I sold him before my og account got deleted for inactivity…

The account was deleted and sadly the Cowbra went along with it. I remember she was so excited when she found that card! default smiley :) it was sad to see them both go.

Due to a cat needing the vet and a few other things I missed the release completely. Thought I might pick up one or two in sales but the pages and pages of the same coats (not all new) just put me off looking. I get frustrated every time by how some people just buy as many as they can and dump them in sales. I know it's not against the rules and I know it's a nice way to earn a few equus or passes if they sell but, even when I can manage to see the release, I'm rarely lucky enough to get the few coats I really like - I like a horse to look like a horse! This post is an observation rather than a complaint but I often wish there was some way to make things a little fairer. Restricting numbers that can be purchased at early release hasn't really helped. Oh well, try again next month if there's anything I like enough to buy.

Did have another look and pick up the one coat I really liked.

It's leaves a very sour taste in your mouth to be blunt!

I totally understand why do many seasoned collectors have sold up or thinned out collections as the modern era of collecting isn't fun or exciting, as it was back before creation space began. Not knowing when/if a coat might retire was the fun of coat collecting, being held to ransom by other players, who see it as a very profitable enterprise, certainly can't compete!

Whilst I'm not currently planning on selling my collection, I'm not getting myself too upset at missing out on over priced coats, which I would never spend a golden apple on if they were unlimited, so if I miss it at release it's unlikely I'll be purchasing any more. My focus recently has been more towards trophies.

Anyhow, with the 20 year anniversary upcoming (18 years of international I believe, I think it was started April 2007?) How about sharing our oldest coated horses (by DOB)

I have a couple which fulfilled the born within 30 days of the server starting objective many years back when Croesus was added.

The first 100 players to complete a series of objectives/tasks won one and I was one of the lucky players, thanks to a great group of players (all coat collectors and most no longer around) who helped each other fufil these tasks by sharing horses.

Anyhow I digress, here's my two. One more never made it back to me, but hey ho it was a very long time ago now.

I have few from 2008 to 2010that thankfully I still have. I’m not selling any of mine again but collecting was more fun a year ago after I came back from my hiatus. With my phone internet I should be able to get one 100 use coat prefer high use or it should at least come up on my phone. The first one I attempt to put on. I don’t know how they get so many. I was looking forward to just last release. I skip dog chimera but wanted to name it Chloe after my exs late dog. I started trying to put it on at 3:94 never came up. Ayatest was next the gray winged unicorn if I went for draft unicorn I probably would have gotten it. And I have to be up at 2 or 3 am

My second oldest coated horse is the first GA horse I ever bought, and the one that started me collecting - she is also one I lent out to complete those objective! I remember one of the kind players who borrowed her added a stone, but I don't remember who it was... dk. grey/black by friesianlvr

Oldest coated horse is a fun one to search for! It made me look through each of my coat farms, rather than just using the directory filters

Єαgℓє Hoяsє is on my oldest horse. He was born September 18, 2007. The coat itself was released May 31, 2008.

Sorry about the unimaginative name, but I have collected a horse foaled in every month since the server began, and this is how I keep track of them.

Ok, I had an idea and wanted to outdo myself....I long ago sent my first horse to Heaven, and wondered if I could find a horse born the day I created my account (July 9, 2007). I actually found a retired coat on a horse, born that day! So this is now my oldest coated horse (I had to bust open Mars' vault because I was short on passes to buy itdefault smiley (lol))

The sales "more criteria" search filters has a section that lets you search for birth month and year of a horse. I input July and 2007, and I got lucky.default smiley (lol)
One of the horses listed was born on the same day I created my account.

Yes, both of those options can happen for PreCS coats. The coat does have to reach 100 uses for the creator to manually retire it though.

Only Creation Space coats released as limited will retire. They can't retire the way PreCS coats can.
