[Info] The Retired Coat Gallery

This thread is here to show off your Retired Coats. This is not the place to post non retired coats. **The two exceptions would be coats that have been pulled (brief discussions) and the pre release coats.

REMEMBER:

******** absolutely no sales talk, no talk about spares or how many extras of a copy you got and selling them to fund your RC habit this is just a place to talk RCs

* although links and graphics are ok on this thread, they are not allowed normally on public forums

* any negative or unkind comments on artists or coats (or anyone!) will be removed, and depending on the case, it might mean an instant forum ban.

* DO NOT use this as a place to sell your horse/coats-if you feel the need to break this rule, it will mean an instant forum ban...

** Sales ads are NOT allowed in any public forums. Asking for spare coats will now be considered a sales ad. This includes stating that you plan to sell a coat, or point out coats for sale in sales.

* Do not use this place as a spot for rants or complaints-About coats/BG/or each other.

* This is not the place to ask players to price your coats, or to ask others the worth of a coat, you can check uses on your own by hovering your mouse over the gray apple and price it from there.

* This is not the place to bring up the subject of stolen images. Keep in mind that the rules of the BP used to be very different, and many old coats are from that time.
There is not any reason to bring that up, or report the coats.

*Please do not do a coat countdown for soon to retire coats.

* Please do not post coats that are currently in the GA and have either not retired, or will never retire.

* Please do not post coat/bg combos or ask opinions on them, except following coat release.

* Some coats may be removed in the future, whether that be for problems with the coats itself or just because they're clearing room on the server to allow other coats to be uploaded - if you're buying retired coats, please keep that in mind. If you want a permanent copy, I would recommend saving the graphic to your computer

* How to discover who many uses a New GC coat will retire-There is now a coat countdown in the GA, and it will show how many have been used and how many uses there are left.

** There is now a new creations directory which shows all coats. Go to Community>>>Directories>>>Creations>>>Click more criteria, and on the left hand side is a gold and silver apple. Click the silver apple and search to see all retired coats.

* To see who created/how many uses/name/or if you have it already of a RC coat, simply click on the silver apple, and it will tell you.

*** Posting links to other player's coats is NOT allowed and can mean a forum ban.

*#*#*#* If players feel the need break the main topic rules, such as sales ads/coat countdowns/spares-you can expect an instant forum ban without any warning prior to it *#*#*#*

, but I never put those horses up for ridiculously unfair prices. And I like to sell at least a couple for 100p to people that missed them and really wanted them.

I'll never judge people doing release and getting profit coats. As a non pass buyer, I really depend on those profits to pay off my new RCs and even VIP sometimes. Although most RCs from release every month can be found for 200-500p. Which isn't bad at all

Yeah same. I’ve held on to a few so that ppl who don’t have the passes at the time can buy them when they do but usually I keep them in the lower range in general if I do sell them.

For clarification, I am not saying that people shouldn't get profit coats. I sometimes pick up some higher number for the sole purpose of selling after they retire. I'm not complaining (I apologize if it came across that way) just more so on my end a bit of disappointment, like "aw man, that's too bad."

That being said, I have been approached when I have missed out on coats from collectors who were able to pick up some for resale who graciously put them in price range that I was comfortable with.

It's a great community, I'm not disparaging it.

I can say I am also someone who relies off profiting from release coats to continue my VIP, but I am in the same boat with how you handle sales as well. If it is during the month of the coats release I will normally list it well below 500 passes, but there are *very few* exceptions. I the dreaded feeling of not getting the coat you were eyeing but the resale prices are the value of your kidney... Now my several months old + coats I might list for more depending on the release date and if I can even figure out the value if there are no others reference off of.

I think the tricky part for me is trying to shoo off resellers so that those who actually want the coat can have priority, it's hard to find that line between the two. I can say I have a personal blacklist of coat sellers that show the "I want your kidney" behavior and refuse to buy from them regardless of how much I want something.

I have a lot of appreciation for resellers who do so at fair prices. I end up relying on fairly priced flips to grab what I missed a lot of the time, this month included. Both parties end up walking away feeling like they got a good deal — no harm, no foul. default smiley ^)

My issue is with those who sell at extortionate prices just because they can. It leaves a bad taste in the mouth and makes all resellers look worse, even the fair ones.

For those that resell for fair prices… thank you! I was able to pick up a few coats that I missed thanks to you, including this beauty that I was so disappointed to miss upon release:

Yep.
The same creator has this coat here

These aren't the same ghostly white coats, but there are parts that are transparent if you want to work with that when pairing backgrounds
Призрачная леди
Призрак из книги
Ancient Phantom
Brush Ink

There is also one that's holding a blanket, but I can't find him at the moment

I've seen several in that style over the years...i think they tend to be limited coats. But i can't think of their names off hand, so thank goodness others are posting them! Its not my favorite style, but they can be pretty cool.

All nice choices!!!

I've been avoiding sales myself recently, partly because I needed to stay away for awhile default smiley (lol) partly because I haven't been feeling the best the last few weeks! Put a bit of a damper on the holidays. Anyway I had to go look tonight and was surprised to find nothing that was "oh pretty! Want to have" so I broke down on got one I've had my eye on for awhile! default smiley :d

My latest!

I decided not to wake up at 5 am for the release and was super surprised that I still managed to get 4 of the coats I was going to get. I also in the excitement decided to buy some in sales that I had been looking at.

I got these from the release:

And bought these from sales shortly after:

Super happy despite missing 2 others I had my eye on

My favorite from this last release is the Pegasus with the crescent moon. Also the skoll & hati coat was pretty amazing. So many gorgeous coats though. I was very pleased to put them all on skillers or foundies.
