This thread is here to show off your Retired Coats. This is not the place to post non retired coats. **The two exceptions would be coats that have been pulled (brief discussions) and the pre release coats.

REMEMBER:

******** absolutely no sales talk, no talk about spares or how many extras of a copy you got and selling them to fund your RC habit this is just a place to talk RCs

* although links and graphics are ok on this thread, they are not allowed normally on public forums

* any negative or unkind comments on artists or coats (or anyone!) will be removed, and depending on the case, it might mean an instant forum ban.

* DO NOT use this as a place to sell your horse/coats-if you feel the need to break this rule, it will mean an instant forum ban...

** Sales ads are NOT allowed in any public forums. Asking for spare coats will now be considered a sales ad. This includes stating that you plan to sell a coat, or point out coats for sale in sales.

* Do not use this place as a spot for rants or complaints-About coats/BG/or each other.

* This is not the place to ask players to price your coats, or to ask others the worth of a coat, you can check uses on your own by hovering your mouse over the gray apple and price it from there.

* This is not the place to bring up the subject of stolen images. Keep in mind that the rules of the BP used to be very different, and many old coats are from that time.
There is not any reason to bring that up, or report the coats.

*Please do not do a coat countdown for soon to retire coats.

* Please do not post coats that are currently in the GA and have either not retired, or will never retire.

* Please do not post coat/bg combos or ask opinions on them, except following coat release.

* Some coats may be removed in the future, whether that be for problems with the coats itself or just because they're clearing room on the server to allow other coats to be uploaded - if you're buying retired coats, please keep that in mind. If you want a permanent copy, I would recommend saving the graphic to your computer

* How to discover who many uses a New GC coat will retire-There is now a coat countdown in the GA, and it will show how many have been used and how many uses there are left.

** There is now a new creations directory which shows all coats. Go to Community>>>Directories>>>Creations>>>Click more criteria, and on the left hand side is a gold and silver apple. Click the silver apple and search to see all retired coats.

* To see who created/how many uses/name/or if you have it already of a RC coat, simply click on the silver apple, and it will tell you.

*** Posting links to other player's coats is NOT allowed and can mean a forum ban.

Ho boy! I was a bit stressed over this one, you can probably see why default smiley (lol)
I took a break from Horse during 2015/2016 and missed tonnes of amazing coats like this one which are now really hard to get. But thank gosh I finally have this one! Though I did use up my few remaining passes on it, oops.

I was so happy that the early release actually happened on 6:00:00 for me and now annoyed that the release was at like 6:05:something like it usually does. Ah well. I didn't manage to get as many extra copies as desired because the 2 coats went really fast.

Also I'm fed up with Howrse glitching and allowing 102 copies of 100c coats to be out. This is the second time it's happened and it crashes my sales profit. Please have an admin fix this!

I think if people do it so fast, the system can't always tell who was first, hence the extra copies. There's one was 102 a few months ago, is now down to 100. So I reckon it will be down in a few months.

I think I've got the hang of this... got both of the 100's, with my usual preference of actually getting them on horse that might look like them: A mouse gray Thoroughbred (1% coat) for the Pegasus and a black (2% coat) Knabstrupper for the Uni. Both of my own breeding. I did buy them to sell, but it's so tempting to keep them! LOL

I was wondering, am I the only one who has preferences for what horse a coat goes on? Anyone?

No, it's not only you. Usually I do have preferences also for the breed of horse I put the coats I am going to keep for myself. The breed, the coat, the purity, the gender sometimes. Sometimes the GP as well. Some coats I prefer to put on original foundies, some I prefer on top skillers.

Depends. On the GA. On the horse. On my mood. default smiley xd

I like to match coats up with specific breeds. For example, a Fjord coat would be put on a Fjord, a Friesian on a Friesian etc. However, that really depends on the coat.

A lot of my favorite coats go on my QH's, but I want to get a GA on one of each breed so I still have that trophy. Otherwise, I don't really have a preference on what horses have what coats.

Congrats Springtalon! It is a gorgeous coat, I'm happy I have that one too. If I remember correctly I missed that release as well, but managed to buy it in the sales the same day or something, I knew it would be hard to get if I waited much longer lol.

I like to match as much as possible...i like the GA colors and the horse's natural coat/breed to match as close as i can get it. I also try to match up companions if there is an animal in the GA that we had a similar companion for. Unfortunately it doesn't work out very often lol. Oh and last, but not least, i try to find a suitable affix that somehow ties into the GA. If i can't find one, i look for a similar horse without an affix to put the GA on. It really helps that i have a good sized "apple seeds" tab, etc. to choose fromdefault smiley :)

I'm that person who doesn't care what the coat is on - if they are on a horse i bred that's great (most often uni rejects) but i don't match colours or breeds or bother in the slightest about skills.

If i'm buying it in the sales i'm after the cheapest copy plain and simple default smiley :-)) I myself don't want to pay extra because someone put it on a skiller, that was their choice not mine and i personally buy my skillers for a different purpose to my collection coats

I agree...i go for cheapest too regardless of skills, but it excites me much more when they do match. I don't like it when people put the coats on skillers with tons of bmi and skills or Hestias gifts etc just so they can charge a lot more. What it means in the end is I'm not buying it. It's just gonna sit in my Apple Orchards and become outdated quickly anyway, and I'm not hurting that bad for unis. I just want the coat and will buy the cheapiedefault smiley :) but I understand that some people want their coats on skilled horses so I guess there's something for everyone!

I like putting coats on horses I’ve bred mayself so I can affix them, but if one is about to retire and I don’t have a horse available I’ll buy one in the sales. Yesterday I put a limited tan coat on a Friesian, not ideal for me but I chose the affix over matching default smiley (lol)

I like to put the special coats on Foundation horses. It makes no difference to me if it has an affix or high skills. The way I see it is a Foundation is ALWAYS a Foundation; in contrast, a skill horse becomes outdated in a short time.

I love this one, wasn't sure I liked it when I first saw it, but it's grown on me. It has such amazing character. I got it last week. I was doing a lot of breeding, and had it in mind. When a black Anglo-Arab female was born I thought, 'yep, that's the one', called her 'Draconid' (which google gives as the translation of the name) and aged her up and had the coat on in minutes!

There's only one of Mayha Tay's limited coats left in gold now. I've already got it! Also thinking it would be a good idea to get some of their lesser used/older coats, just in case they get retired even though they are not limited! Though I don't know how much of a risk there is?

I think nobody can say for sure if that would happen. Only PreCS coats retire automatically when their creator's account has been deleted, as far as I remember. And only PreCS coats can be retired by their author on request.

And the actual name in English is Mauna Tau, not Mayha Tay. It's in Cyrillic [Мауна Тау], the author is probably Russian, since they are originated on the Russian server.

I don't usually get RC's, but one of my objectives today for the promo was to buy a horse from the sales, and I decided to look at RC's. I was really smitten with this one for some reason!
