This thread is here to show off your Retired Coats. This is not the place to post non retired coats. **The two exceptions would be coats that have been pulled (brief discussions) and the pre release coats.

REMEMBER:

******** absolutely no sales talk, no talk about spares or how many extras of a copy you got and selling them to fund your RC habit this is just a place to talk RCs

* although links and graphics are ok on this thread, they are not allowed normally on public forums

* any negative or unkind comments on artists or coats (or anyone!) will be removed, and depending on the case, it might mean an instant forum ban.

* DO NOT use this as a place to sell your horse/coats-if you feel the need to break this rule, it will mean an instant forum ban...

** Sales ads are NOT allowed in any public forums. Asking for spare coats will now be considered a sales ad. This includes stating that you plan to sell a coat, or point out coats for sale in sales.

* Do not use this place as a spot for rants or complaints-About coats/BG/or each other.

* This is not the place to ask players to price your coats, or to ask others the worth of a coat, you can check uses on your own by hovering your mouse over the gray apple and price it from there.

* This is not the place to bring up the subject of stolen images. Keep in mind that the rules of the BP used to be very different, and many old coats are from that time.
There is not any reason to bring that up, or report the coats.

*Please do not do a coat countdown for soon to retire coats.

* Please do not post coats that are currently in the GA and have either not retired, or will never retire.

* Please do not post coat/bg combos or ask opinions on them, except following coat release.

* Some coats may be removed in the future, whether that be for problems with the coats itself or just because they're clearing room on the server to allow other coats to be uploaded - if you're buying retired coats, please keep that in mind. If you want a permanent copy, I would recommend saving the graphic to your computer

* How to discover who many uses a New GC coat will retire-There is now a coat countdown in the GA, and it will show how many have been used and how many uses there are left.

** There is now a new creations directory which shows all coats. Go to Community>>>Directories>>>Creations>>>Click more criteria, and on the left hand side is a gold and silver apple. Click the silver apple and search to see all retired coats.

* To see who created/how many uses/name/or if you have it already of a RC coat, simply click on the silver apple, and it will tell you.

*** Posting links to other player's coats is NOT allowed and can mean a forum ban.

'Green and Gold' by stillwaters, 78 copies left. I think this is the oldest retired coat I own.



'Pink Pegasus Dreams' by Lily C. with 52 copies left. This is the rarest coat I own and the one I've had the longest, think this is also a pretty old coat.

Howrse did have the springcleaning thread a while back, where they said they were cracking down on multi accounting and scripting... Guess this might be part of that. No changes to my retired coats (all 2 of them!), but out of the 5 Xanthos I had bookmarked 2 have just died. The lists of Xanthos and Topaz have gone down considerably in numbers too I think.

While this could be called a spring cleaning I don't think it had anything to do with cheating.

I know some of the GA´s that retired the creators haven't been on in years this happens occasionally where they simply delete old accounts that hasn't been active in several years.

The difference is just that they cleaned out a big group instead of the two or three they normally do.

I just remembered something I would like to ask a moderator I believed it's already been answered in here once but that's probably a long time ago, there are some golden Apple coats that isn't retired even though the creator is no longer on the game, I believe a long time ago a moderator in here said that, that is a mistake?

If it is a mistake and the coats are supposed to retire when the creator is gone from the game can we point the coats out to Howrse?

Huh, so I haven't bought any new RC coats but just got an alert that I've now got a trophy for 180 coats with less than 100 uses left, wonder what dropped?

Omg so something definitely just happened, I was just checking RC counts yesterday for my horses following the huge retiring spree.

First off, Crazy Spots dropped from 121 uses to 99 uses. 0.0 Seriously, just yesterday it was 121, this is my favorite RC so I remember checking it XD



Another major coat, Shine*Like*the*Night*Star, dropped from 27 to 24 uses



There's so many I need to update now, after yesterday. Wonder what happened...

Quite a few inactive accounts must have been cleared out. PreCS coats that retired were listed on the last 2 pages. I'm guessing some of those accounts had some of those coats that dropped in uses?

Actually, I was so busy looking to see which coats I had that may have retired that I never thought to look at coats that could have dropped in number. I name my horses by their coat name and number of copies, but I don't update the names that often so I'm not sure if I'd be able to tell much from thatdefault smiley (lol).
Off to do my own check though!

These are PreCS coats that are now under 100 uses. A few I haven't checked for awhile, so I'm not sure that they dropped just the other day or sometime before. I had quite a large number of coats that dropped 100-300 uses since my last check. I still have another farm to look at.
Ethereal Rune to 98. Was at 110 when I bought it earlier this month.
Punkn'Strut went from 72 to 60
Faboulus. I just bought this one either this week or last and it went from 108 to 90 copies
Chained But Free Now down to 93
Friesian Uni at 96
Fun in Red at 82

This happened right before I posted, I was actually online when I got a new <100 use RC trophy, so I'm guessing they're clearing out inactive accounts in general now. I renamed a bunch of horses yesterday to keep up to date with the coat counts, and preCS coats definitely dropped the most. Eviponia went down 168 uses (from yesterday!), Dark Pegasus went down 134, and Son of the Wind went down 107. I'm not a huge collector, so that's probably not the biggest drop 0.0

From what i recall - please back me up/correct me @ wild, dotty, gaff, k9 Yorkie, Ride the wind and all other long term collectors

Before creation space creators could open and close their creations at will, they could also choose to leave their creations in play or close them (retire) if they quit the game. The opening and closing system was very abused by some creators, creating a lot of discontentment in the community, and the game took steps to remedy this, this was when the rule was brought in about coats having to have 100 uses before they could be retired. There was a window for creators to re-open any retired coats and to retire their coat/s (regardless of uses) before the new rule was enforced. The new ruling also meant if a player leaves the game their creations were automatically retired.

However there were a few coats from around this period that glitched, the creators went but the coats are still in active use, foxylady and honnii (sp on both) coats spring to mind. Think there are/were more but at a similar time we lost a lot of coats (that were 3d possibly?) anyhow some sort of issue around their creation that was no longer allowed and/or supported.

The coats were reported at the time but to date nothing has ever been done about them. If anyone has the time/will to search back through the early pages of this thread, more accurate info may be available...and or hopefully one of the others will recall more/elaborate further x

Here are a few more I found that dropped below 100. Quite a few are hugging that mark in the 100-110 copy range.

Wild & Dangerous at 88 (wasn't numbered, so maybe it was already below 100 uses?)
Hallowed Eve. Right at 100 copies

Also, Gothic, which I think was the only RC with 1000+ copies, is now at 830

Alrighty, just got done going through and updating my RC names to their correct counts. As of yesterday, only 6 out of my 319 RCs didn't drop any uses, and Evipona dropped the most with 168! (Gothic is the highest drop I think, pretty sure it was over 1000 copies too).

Haffy is exactly right in what she posted above..
In additional..many coats we're "removed due to 3d..but a few managed to stick around.
Howrse has always threatened to remove them as well as the known "stolen" work but fortunately has not.

At one time they stated they would start phasing out pre-creation space coats from BM including available golden apple coats..though they did state if no rules were broken then they would "retire them.

I am sad to see some of the oldest creators on the game be deleted, as it was stated if passes were bought accounts would not be deleted..but let's be honest..this game has been going on for 11 years..in order to make improvements and server space it was bound to happen sooner or later.
