Keeping just the bigger forums and deleting the small ones is still UNFAIR, and terribly so. Who are the small servers that they can just trample all over them? How is it fair that it's always them suffering and pleading and "Please just let us be"?

Now I'm not advocating that we all get the forums deleted, I'm saying that NONE OF US does.

Absolutely agreed. I truly feel that this might be a cost issue as I think they may just not want to pay to modernize the howrse forums, and instead have just decided to use discord instead and claim its the best option to "modernize". It's probably a lot cheaper to just use another platform than pay to completely revamp your own platform.

It's not just the small servers but also the language issues which are very sad as well. I think it's very unfair just to dump everyone onto one server and require everyone to speak english. It's like a slap in the face to everyone who doesn't speak english.

Well, can't say I'm terribly shocked. Many of these ridiculous decisions howrse has made in these recent years has certainly made many long time players quit. What they're planning to do with the forums here just might be the last nail in the coffin for me. I can't believe how many times howrse has blatantly ignored it's own player base, and I feel we've been far too tolerant of it. I used to love this game growing up, but it's clear that this isn't that same game anymore and it hasn't been for a long time.

Since they haven't announced this here or in the French servers (last I heard) could this possibly be limited or intended for the smaller servers?

It would make a little more sense that since smaller serves have so few people, they might get a better sense of community if they had a place to interact with other Howrse users speaking the same language even if on different servers.

Whereas our server(s) are much more large and active, so our forums are fairly active as well.

I don't think it's a reason to get rid of their forums, I'm just discussing that perhaps our server at least might not need be worried about our forums.

Doesn't matter that forums use to be more active before, we get daily activity. Some of the smaller servers can go days without anyone saying much of anything. I'm guessing Howrse would see the smaller server forums as no longer worth keeping.

Also, what does horse skills have to do with community? Sharing in spoilers, discussing events, and just generally knowing we all enjoy the same horse game is community. I think the addition of a Discord where those smaller communities can meet is a nice one.

It doesn't make sense to completely remove the forums though because literally every concern already stated. Their servers being small doesn't change how little sense it makes to rely solely on another platform and skip over security/safety concerns.

And just because there is an English discord to start doesn't mean they won't follow with other languages. It's typical Howrse fashion to include separate spaces for other languages.

And expecting the younger players to speak english? great for them if they already do, but . . . uh . . . i get that english is a commonly-spoken language, but not everyone should absolutely have to learn it in order to play a game.


this may not seem a big issue, but as nalu said, how is it community if, say, it does happen that they're not allowe to speak polish, or dutch, or russian, or whatever their language is? not saying that it's gonna happen, but it might.
plus, it's not as if the littler servers are struggling. they're doing fine. but now? i dunno. maybe with this update, the large chunk of players that slips through howrse's fingers will finally get them to realize what the feline vomit they've been doing.

Still never in a million years have I even for a split second thougt they would pull such a stunt. Move forums to Discord…. seriously?

No way as in EVER will I follow you there. Be forced to log on to check forum news, promos etc etc, to know what’s going on with the gane. Debate with players, exchange knowledge, ask for advice etc.

Sure I am on Discord, but only to connect with a few people. I don’t even follow howrse on neither fb, instagram, tiktok etc.
If I need to link my profile here to Discord, the time really had come to sit back and watch this ship sink .

the server is absolutely unregulated and a risk for any young players, also in violation of discords TOS. i sincerely hope they dont replace all the forums for that mess
