It would help, yes, but they're not going to give you those 3000 passes back, not when they so neatly limited it to 900 (and I must remind you, on the small servers used as guinea pigs, it was 90 DIAMONDS back then, which they couldn't even use for horse sales! Were those servers compensated for the huge hit to their economy for 1 year? NOPE.).

They were probably considering another "Free the Horses" event, but feared they'd be swamped in criticism and wanted to "test the ground", so to speak

I won't lie I just killed ONE foal and felt like an absolute monster starving it to death, and for what? Will not be doing that again, Yggdrasil sucks Couldn't the promo have been to send them to the safe haven?!

I copied my original post to Contact Us and just got a reply back saying the promo is not about torturing foals. I think your post says otherwise. LOL

Agreed, the whole point of Yggdrasil is that if a horse that was going to die anyways of old age dies, you get added bonuses to make the loss worthwhile - this promo encourages you to kill horses that have a while left to live - even if they are just pixels, it's still pretty gross imo.

Re pass horses. As I understand it, originally it was HARD to get a horse to 30 years old, because they could get diseases and stuff. So the pass was originally a reward for good care. As the pass horse system last existed it had become much easier to get horses to that age, and it had become a reward for killing them (sometimes by starving/overworking once they reached thirty to save a few more ageing points...)

As such I sort of supported the end of the pass horse system... unfortunately it seems Howrse didn't end it because it was rewarding bad care/bad play, but because they wanted to limit what people could get out of it. They brought in a system even less about caring for horses... and this latest development makes it even worse.

Again, I know they are just pixels. But in a game about caring for horses you shouldn't be rewarded for abuse/neglect in any form.

I've gotten Yggy just for the trophy. The system was pretty standard, really, but I just felt awful by sending away the pixels so I didn't.

I'd rather they did a "Free the horses" at this point, it would make me feel less awful, despite some requests being unreasonable (We had a "Free a horse with a Golden Apple coat!" "Free an Immortal horse!" which.. OOOF.). I'd still rather do that than play the Yggy game.



(Not to say that I'd like to play it, I'd just RATHER play that)

Yep, that sort of stuff is HARD, but it's not the sort of thing that would actually be immoral/criminal in real life....

Also, if, like I said in my first post, they just included some sort of euthanise button for this, it would make a lot of difference to the acceptability to me.

Up until this promo, I considered Iggy to be better than the pass horse system; at least the way I play the game - the older you can get your horse the better, which means looking after them until the end, instead of killing them off once they reached 30...

It seems to be +5 overall, I had a foal over 1 year pass and it gave the tree horse 6 years, so it can be assumed that it would add 5 extra years to old horses plus their age, therefore allowing you to gain the "bonus" for allowing old horses to pass naturally as well.

I can confirm this is the case, I let an old horse of 31 pass naturally and got 36 years -

That is good to know - of course, it's still means players are being encouraged to actively neglect the younger horses...

I think if they raised the payout rate from The Safe Haven then a lot more horses would be sent there instead of just being recycled as cheap sales.

I'd like it if there was a random 'prize' every now and again too. A bit like Xanthos and Frost, a chance to win.. something.. a few passes, a lower BMI, 2* coloured tack!!, Yeah, that would be great! ( I have Rainbow so I'm okay but it does make me irrationally cross that there are very limited ways for other players to get 2* tack

*Stares hard at the western tack* Yeah...
Also because Secret Rainbow is broken and doesn't deliver every day.

Anyone knows what prizes there will be and in what cases (for each horse there will be a prize?) ?

You can see the prizes on the Yggdrasil page, but they generally aren't worth it, you need to reach a minimum of 250 years for the first one. (10 25 year old horses normally)

My yggdrasil is still a foal, and he'll be staying that way indefinitely. I have zero desire to kill off my horses, I've worked hard to have the ones I do, and I've spent time earning the equus to buy those I didn't breed.
Ubislop, ya'll know it's wise to THINK before making decisions. Encouraging kids to neglect animals for gains? I wonder what those crazy animal rights organizations would think...
