Hmmm, just opened 14 HOPs. Got one Zaldia's tack and there's no divine dust. Would have been nice considering I am spending towards getting a divine (I need another 2 tacks to get him, grrrrrr)

Zaldia isn't a Divine - could be why

Maybe you are right, but if so it's all down to one word. They are divines in every single way except being 'legendary' rather than 'divine'. Here's the description:

'The Legendary horses are immortal, cannot be sold or ranked. They cannot breed, be customized, take part in the Grand Prix, be aged manually. They do not count towards Equestrian Centre boarder prestige. They can take part in competitions open to all horses once a day and in special horse competitions as long as their energy allows.'

Isn't that the same as divine horses?

They also give perks like divine horses: Zaldia gives passes (was diamonds...) and Amira gives different prizes, including a chronos timer.

And yes, they start as ordinary horses... but then so can Croesus.

They are also probably harder to get than many divines: you have to win them 5 times in the HOPs, not just once...

Croesus doesn't start as an ordinary horse. Its like a draw. The computer finds one horse called Junior Croesus. It removes it and replaces it with a Croesus.

You dont win the Legendary in a HoP, even in 5 HoPs. You win tack to put on an ordinary horse to turn it into a Legendary. Its a Legendary, its not a Divine. Do you consider Wilds to be Divine too?

Legendary horses work as divines, but they are just..immortal horses with divine limitations.
Maybe admins should make sure people know that the divine dust doesn't work on wild horses, legendary horses and other special category-horses that work as divines but are not divines.

You didn't get divine dust because there is no divine to be gotten in HOPs this weekend.

It's Zaldia's tack, which is not divine, to be placed on a horse (you need all 5 pieces) to turn your horse into the legendary horse Zaldia.

The legendary horse act like divines in comps, but they are their own category, not divine.

Anyone still interested in arguing about it, the divine v legendary argument is also in the Divine dust thread.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a full list of the cards? I found one many pages back, but it wasn't the full list.

Several people have already said 'they aren't divines' which isn't really an explanation. The dust is intended to stop people overspending when they try and get a special horse in offers. Why shouldn't that apply to all special horses, not just those given the word 'divine'? Especially when the distinction between divine and legendary is pretty meaningless.

Rogin actually gave a much better actual explanation in the other thread: because the dust cannot be used more than once in an offer, that would be a problem if you were going for more than one piece as I was. It would have to work in a different way to other divine dust offers to allow that.

Of course, it would still be possible. It would also still be good if there was dust to get the first piece. And there's no reason the dust couldn't work on weeks when they are offering individual pieces.

I'm not sure why people are so against this idea?

Otherwise, if it took 14 HOPs per piece, with 5 pieces that comes to 70 HOPs/passes. The divine in the Fleece is apparently 'capped' at about 50 passes maximum spend thanks to the dust.

So, without the dust, legendary's become potentially harder and more expensive to get than divines....

^It could be that the legendary tack doesn't count because it is not actually a special horse of any kind. Individually, each piece of tack is simply a bonus item - they only become more once they are all combined on the same horse. As there is no horse - divine, legendary or otherwise - to be won directly, we don't get the dust because the dust is for finding divines, not for finding items.

At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter what Howrse's logic is. We don't get divine dust when looking for legendary tack, that is just the way it works. Arguing about the reason behind it isn't going to change it. Personally, I don't mind having a set of special horses that are a bit rarer and more difficult to get than divines are. We have so many divines, and so many opportunities to win divines, now that they've lost a lot of specialness and appeal they once had. Keeping one group of specials as hard to get, and therefore a bit more special, isn't such a bad thing in my opinion.
