is the GC and the Derby

Has anyone been able to test the Derby yet? I had seen some pictures on the last page but I haven't seen anyone talk about actually trying it.

It's coming in a day and a few hours on (int) preprod server, so expect more info and pics in 2 days

It would be more than 2 days if it is the Great Challenge and than derby? Do you do both in the pre-pod?

the schedule on preprod is that we will start testing the derby on the 20th. We're only testing the GC until the 20th.

Question: how to players become testers? I would to be one

This new derby promo seems very pass heavy and equess heavy. Im already out of race and sent over 10 mil on 300 flags. The money goes u wayy too quickly for each race

Note, I am going to run with a 5 day calculation since test server times and live times tend to run different.

I also do not have any information on 'bonus items' and how they will factor in to calculations.
From what I understand, Bonus Items /should/ make this process easier, so if anyone has information on them please let me know and I'll run another set of calculations.

Anyway. you still need 1350 flags to win the divine. I am going to run on the assumption our server will get at least 3-4 freebie races per day. I'll run calculations if you get last all the time or first all the time.

In one day you need 270 flags
Assuming 3 races a day you will get anywhere from 33-45 free flags (237 - 225 still needed)
4 races a day will be 44-60 flags per day.(226-210 still needed)

Now we need to see how many races we have to purchase.
237 flags getting last each race will equal needing 22 races
210 flags getting 1st each races with equal needing 14 races

Remember, these are per day.


Race cost starts at 5e
5-20-80-320-1280-5120-20480-81920 are the cost for the first 8 races you would purchase. You will not be able to purchase 9 races since it caps at 300k, the 9th race would cost more than that. Unless they just let you keep purchasing at 300k which I do not know yet.

That leaves us with 88-120 more flags. Needing as many as 149 or as a few as 90 more needed to obtain PER day.

Again, this is without information on bonus items or the actual length of the Derby.
Longer than 5 days means fewer needed per day for the divine. Bonus items, I have no information on yet to know what they do and how they will affect the numbers. From what I understand though they are important so people should prioritize getting them during the Great Challenge part of the promo.

I don't know if anyone's done this yet, but the Derby is basically an arcade game where you have four horses lined up to race to set off a light at the far end. You pay your fee, pick a horse, and then click a button to throw a ball at numbered slots. Number of the slot = number of steps your horse gets to advance. (The other three horses racing beside you are automated.)
Depending on your placement for setting off the light (first/second/third/fourth), you get a certain number of flags. As far as I can tell, it's 15 for first, 14 for second, and 13 for third, so you could guess that it's 12 for fourth. (Anyone care to confirm?)
With the flags you earn from the race, you can buy prizes, which I think will be appreciated -> you can pick your own prizes from a list.

Regarding bonus coins: (@Spyder)
Bonus items block off the hole with the lowest value on the board. So, the first you use blocks off the 3, then the 4, and up, to a max of 5 used per ball throw, where you would definitely get a 6. However, on the next throw all holes are unblocked again, which seems unreasonable - we'd need 50+ bonus coins to guarantee a 6 on every throw.
They don't seem very important to me. I've done three races; got third on the first and third ones, with no bonus items, and got 13 flags from both, then got first on the second one, using 6 bonus items, and got 15 flags - but that's only a difference of 2 flags. Over the span of the three races I only got my ball into the "3" slot thrice, and seemed to get "5" the most.

This horse's skills increase when you give them Droppings. The skills increase depends on the amount of Droppings the horse is given, as well as the season in the game.

There is also a promo on preprod where you can grab her from the HoPs - not sure when/whether that's coming here, but it took me 20 HoPs to get her. After 15 I was given the option to buy her from reserved sales for 20 passes, with the price dropping one pass with every next HoP I used. c: Additionally, she comes with 80 skill points, so your first pass seed is given as soon as you get her.

This means you can go through all the bonuses in one race. I have done a few races and would recommend you use the bonuses only at the last minute. My horse went from 4th to first when I did that.

because this isn't the real great challenge but something a little different. wasn't it possible to get divine in luck items as well? or isn't that this time?
