In my opinion, if Howrse wants rid of the extra pixels, they could simply increase the payout from Safe Haven to something like a fixed amount of 3000 equus. Sounds better then replacing a feature that has been here since the game begun for a clear cash grab of a system. The sound of a ranking for horses killed sounds really disgusting considering Howrse is a "family" game, as it claims.

In all honestly, although I hate that the pass horses are being taken away, this is good for some players. For instance, new players who don't have the AP/equus to age/buy pass horses now can get about ten passes each month, even though I do know that it is harder to get ten points now. Even though I believe the vast majority is correct about the fact that we should be allowed to keep pass horses, at least some players who had no chance before have one nowdefault smiley :)

I don't believe that would fix the issue or even help those players who don't like the idea of "killing" horses. If the payout was raised to 3k, players would simple bulk by horses in the sale of significantly less then send them to the safe haven to make a profit.

@Epona Honestly I think that this is making people less driven to kill their horses than when they could do it for passes. Now all they get is a useless divine changing the way it looks, so people will more than likely just sell extra horses instead of killing them off.

I know that a lot of player don't have resources to age hoses or buy pass horses, but if they decided to find a solution, they would realise that they don' need anything but some horses and taking care of them frequently. Even a new player can work up a system where they get that 10 passes per month, and they only need approximately 6 months to do that. Of course 6 months is a long period of time, but after that they wouldn't need to buy pass horses or do other expensive things. In my opinion, it would decrease the grumbling if we could pass the information to everybody that they don't need to be rich, only to work a little bit and wait some time at the beginning. I am aware of the fact that not everybody would be satisfied, but maybe less people would complain about the pass horse system. I agree with you that some player is happy, because they didn't want to spend time with pass horses or didn't know that they could get 10 passes/month with some work. For them, this change is good, because 4-6 passes/month is more than zero. (I'm not sure that we can get more seeing the results on the other servers who have the changes already). But I think they are the minority of the players. Or at least not the majority. So it would be better if we could assure the Owlient team that this change is very problematic. But if we can't, it is better to see the good thing in it. I'm afraid that I won't be able to do it. default smiley :$

But shouldn't new players earn the pass horses? Thats what 90% of the players now have to do. The game is about building yourself up. Starting from the bottom and working your way up.

Its like what many players argue (expecially pass buyers & senior players), that by giving out free things (aka this 10 point deal) you are making them lose. I earn my equus to buy the passes, I earn my APs to age them, then I get my pass. Its as simple as that. Until you do the hard, time consuming stuff, why should you enjoy the luxury of the "free" passes.

I agree with the people against the pass change

i'm all for change...dont get me wrong...but isnt this a little unfair to those who play on the mobile version of howrse and who cant access laptops and the like? The mini games do not work on the phones or even if you put your phine onto the computer version...so we wouldnt be able to benefit from it. We wouldnt even be able to use it.

My absolute only way of getting passes have been from pass horses as I simply cannot afford to pay money for them or sell horses for them as I dont have any worth selling for a pass.

I think howrse should reconsider this.

It's just for "fun" from what I can see. You don't get anything special for it.

These new ones appear under the "Best Breeder" ranking page. The top left is for any horse horse sent to heaven regardless of age, the one on the right is for horses older than 25 sent to heaven, and the bottom one is the Safe Haven ranking. The 3 horses I've sent to Heaven this month so far are all 25+. I haven't wasted any younger horses. Even for pixels it's a little morbid to kill off younger horses for a ranking. And looking at the top 20 for the first two rankings it seems other players there feel the same as most of the numbers are the same for the players that show up in both rankings. Some might be off by one or two but it looks like not many are sending younger horses to heaven. The divine and new rankings really add nothing productive or useful to the game.

It isn't hard to buy horses now - good quality or older horses are expensive, but throwaway horses can be bought for less than 3,000e. The days of 500e direct sales being common are gone, but Howrse made that inevitable by making it so expensive to breed - many players aren't even breaking even if they sell for less than 2500e, and that is only if they use their own stallions. 3000e isn't too unreasonable for SH - it would cover the cost of foaling and a 500e covering for all players. Currently, anyone who has used a public covering or has more than 40k equus is actually losing money by using SH. If Howrse want people to use SH more, making it profitable - or at least not leaving them out of pocket - to do so would be a good start.

rankings, the one I **really** disagree with is the one for sending horses (of any age) to heaven. Horses sent to heaven aged 25+ at least means the horse was kept alive until its health began to drop naturally (though personally I would prefer it be horses aged 30+ to keep it in line with the age of pass horses), but the ranking for most horses of any age sent to heaven means that you have to actively be killing off younger horses if it is any different to your "most old horses sent to heaven" ranking. It is, essentially, a ranking that rewards playing the game badly - if your horses are dying young, you are doing something wrong!

The Safe Haven ranking I don't have much issue with - while the end result is the same (the bulk of the horses' information is deleted), at least in game terms the horse is still 'alive' and was simply sold which is less morbid than a ranking for dead horses. The old horses ranking is slightly morbid, but isn't really any worse than pass horses are. The ranking for total number of horses sent to heaven should just be scrapped - "who can kill the most foals" should not be a rankingdefault smiley :-x

I don't see how they see that as an amendment, no way am I going to go for the divine. I'd rather my pass horses gather dust than waste them on such a monstrosity (In my opinion). default smiley (o)
