ok so the fastest times for bringing back trees... Do I need an 8 yr old light grey perch and a 5 yr old black donkey to get the fastest time? Or are donkey foals faster? Everyone seems to be saying different things

The fastest times I've seen anyone report getting is the 8 yr old light grey perch and a 5 yr old black donkey. The time were;

Short journey needs 6 hours
Long journey needs 14 hours
Very long journey needs 1 day
Very very long journey (to the divines) needs 2 days

The fastest time I personally got (For the Divine Forest only) was just under 3 days - and it was with two Black Donkey foals. *Again, my result only - I did not try the above 'best pair'

I believe that the 8 year light gray Percheron and the 5 year Black Donkey might honestly be the best though given the results AND the fact that a 8 year light gray was what we were given on Preprod to help us testing wise.

I don't think Percherons are going to be a prize on the Live version (they are not in any list - and seem to have only been there as a tutorial tree for preprod)

It's possible that they MIGHT be a prize on live (ex. if they are a Tutorial prize) but there's no guarantee (if this is the case - then Yes, you would get to keep the horse *However, it was stated on testing that the Percheron we received (the one at 8 years) was only like that on testing to help - so even if one is given on live - there's no guarantee it would be the 8 year old one (as they said it is not a true reflection)

can someone verify if the perchon needs to be pure bred or not?

first BoWer said it was unique to the test site that we got that percheon in the topic that was opened for it. Then MeOw updated it and said the health, color, and age of the Percheron are not a bug and how they will appear on live so I believe we will all start just as we did on preprod. With 1 tree for that percheon.

How long do I have after I bring a tree back to decorate it? Or do I have to decorate it right away?

We tested a lot on the German server to find the optimum and I wanted to share it here, because many people have Percherons and Donkeys - so why not doing the optimum or near by if you have the horse.

The four criterias to be fast are:
Species (Draught horse + Donkey)
Breed (Percheron + Donkey)
Age (first horse 8, second horse 5)
Coat (first horse white/light grey, second horse black)

A light grey Shire will not be as fast as a light grey Percheron, but faster than a dark bay Shire and so on.

You will have plenty of time to get a lot of trees, so don't worry.

Yes, you see which decorations you need. However, the only forest in which you see the prizes before you bring the tree back is the Divine one. So no to the second question. But we've figured out which tree brings back what.

So if I save all my decorations in the tree decorating promo, then wait for the divine forest, is there a chance for me to get Frost (or another divine) without spending passes or HoPs??
