The cards are a very luck-based promotion. It is possible to win the offered Divine - well, Legendary in this case - without needing to use Passes if you are lucky enough to always get cards you need. However, I doubt any of us are that lucky, so here's some advice:

Don't bother trading Bronze Cards unless its towards the end of the promo - and you are missing Bronze cards for a puzzle. Bronze is the most common card to get - and far too many times, I've seen players trade a Bronze card to get one they don't have...only to get the same traded card right after.

Wait to trade a card until you've scratched off all your cards for the day - this way, you can save some equus and potential annoyance of trading a card, then getting the same card you just traded for.

Unless you are really hurting on Puzzle Cards - I advise activating almost all* duplicate Prize Cards, and trading duplicate Puzzle cards
*While you can get unlimited amount of Tormenta's Saddle, Bridle, and Saddle Cloth - you can only ever get 1 of Tormenta's Polo Wraps and Ear Bonnet - so it's best to trade these Prize Cards, and activate others

When trading - unless you are having a very hard time getting Silver or Bronze cards...I recommend trading Diamond and Gold Cards only. While they are the most expensive ones to trade, you can end up saving some equus in the long run if you only trade these to get ones you need.

Regarding the use of Passes and Diamonds in this promotion:

You can use passes at any time to purchase Card Packs in the following values:

1 pass = 2 cards
3 pass = 6 cards
5 pass = 12 cards
10 pass = 25 cards
20 pass = 55 cards
50 pass = 150 cards

Joker Card Packs (Jokers are cards that let you choose what you get) will be sold for 2 Passes OR 20 Diamonds at some point in time during the promotion. These contain 3 Bronze Joker Canrds, and 1 Joker card of a higher rarity.

There are Pros and Cons to using Passes for both of these methods to get additional cards:

~ Lots of different options
~ Able to get a lot of cards quickly
~ Potential to get a lot of higher rarity cards
~ Potential to earn back more (in items) than what you spent to buy the Cards

Joker Pack Pros
~ Able to choose what you receive from the Cards
~ Able to earn back more (or break even in items) than what you spent to buy the Cards
~ Potential to get missing cards easily

Card Pack Cons
~ No guarantee of what rarities you will receive (so you could buy 12 cards and get all Bronze)
~ No guarantee of what the cards will be (So potential for a lot of duplicates)
~ Potential to give you all cards you can not use/trade

Joker Pack Cons
~ Contains 3 Bronze Cards (The most common rarity of cards)
~ While you can choose what you receive - Joker Packs can be a bit useless if you already own most of the cards (You spend the 2 passes hoping for a Diamond card - instead you get a gold. As you already have all the Gold Cards - you use it to get a Philosopher's Stone (not exactly a loss (Spent 2 passes - got an item sold for 3) but not exactly a win either.
~ Buying Joker packs in bulk gets you less cards for the same amount of passes

What you decide to do is up to you. If you want to drop 20 Passes on 55 cards with no guarantee of their rarity - that's fine. If you want to drop those 20 passes on Joker Cards - that's fine as well.

Personally, and this is just my opinion - I would advise using Joker Packs only towards the end of the event in a last ditch effort to get missing cards. With them - while you might not get the cards you need - you can at least use them to get Items worth what you spent or more:


For example; you spend 2 passes on a Joker Pack - you get your 3 Bronze and 1 Gold...but you already have all the Bronze and the Gold cards. You can use those cards to get:
3x Artemis' Arrow (each worth 1 pass in my book due to them being in the Hera Pack, and the pack selling for 3 passes)
1x Philosopher's Stone (also worth 3 passes as this is what it is sold for in the Black Market)

Also, as I stated - while you can control what you get with Joker Packs...you do get less cards for the same amount of passes:

Card Packs = 55 Cards for 20 passes

Joker Packs = 40 Cards for 20 passes (packs have 4 cards each, cost 2 passes each. 20 passes / 2 passes per pack = 10 packs of 4 cards each (4 x 10 = 40)

The Continental Cards promo sounds really fun! I can't wait to do it!
Is it known how many passes it'll probably take to win it, or is it simply just luck?

probably 10-30, according to last card event's predictions. It really just spends on your luck.

Does anyone know what day the card promo will start?
