After the festivities and such are done for Altair, will you still be able to obtain his tack in Golden Fleeces and/or Altair Pack when it's available?

The only legend that we know of is Altair. The others will be revealed later on.

I would assume like in the past - there would be an event that offers missing pieces, but I can't say for sure

We don't even know if the names used are the real names of the horses (as they were taken from the URL of the images of the legendaries) - though Altair is confirmed, and bucephalus also seems to be a confirmed name.

Not only that - but it's possible that Howrse might not follow the real legends/stories of these horses 100% *so even if we did find the real legends...they may not match up to the Howrse mythology.

depending on the real legend, some things might need to changed/altered to make it more appropriate for all Howrse players (ex. if the real legend is a bit violent - it might need to be toned down/that part removed.

Thus, I would advise if you do find the 'real' legends - keep them in mind with a grain of salt when reading the Howrse variants.

With the balloon competition coming up, I have to ask: How do some people manage to find so many! I usually only find one a day, two on a good day!

when the next challenge begins, the story of the legendary horses will be told. The first legendary horse is Altaïr. An author will write the story of the legendary horses, and every time the community has gathered enough horseshoes, a new chapter will be opened. You can fulfill three objectives every day.

Objective:
1 = two horseshoes
2= 4 horseshoes
3= 6 horseshoes.
Objective three may be solvable with a video. For three objectives solved, the player gains a puzzle piece. You can also go back and solve the objectives you didn't solve the day before.

There is legendary tack to be won, and once you have a full set (5, legendary saddle, bridle, saddle cloth, polo wraps and bonnet) you can give them to one of your own horses and trandform it into the legendary horse. The skills the horse has will then double. you'll also get one piece of the legendary star. Legendary horses can not participate in the Grand Prix anymore(!!).

Since Altaïr is being introduced, will there be more legendary horses like him coming up to make a new type of divine or is he the only one?

Yes, there will be more Legendary Horses. If you look a couple of pages back you may find their pictures. One's name is Amira and another's name is Tormenta, I can't recall the other two's names. Something like Adulis and Bucephalis.
