I abosolutely do not like some of the new coats Howrse is introducing!

I like them for the fact that they can be good at most types of comps, but having a horse that looks nice is a bonus. honestly may stop breeding them if I have to stare at that gross coat. I will probably grow to hate my favourite horse, Genia.

I dislike the Friesan and the Gypsy Vanner the most! and the Marwari! They are ruining my favorite horses coats!

The newfoundland...just, no! I fell in love with the newfies because of their gorgeous scruffy look. Can’t bear to see my beautiful newfies look like that.

They should make them the way they did the Fjord, and just slightly enhance the image, and not totally change it. I bet people would be a lot happier with that. Really hoping most of these don't put these on the horses for real.

I honestly think that most of the coats are an improvement, excluding:

Mustang (It either needs a thinner neck or a bigger head)

Thoroughbred (That HEAD. Even Howrse people should know that doesn't look right)

Gypsy Vanner (Needs more Feathering)

The Quarter Horse's needs something done with their neck, but still, an improvement has been made.

I'm ecstatic about the rest!

Most of the new coats look great, it's just the mustang's neck, freisian's whole appearance, curly looks sweaty, quarter-paint-appaloosa coat have a small neck. All of the rest are really pretty, especially every one of the pony breeds are a huge improvement

I think this is an overall great job...especially compared to some of the other horses.

The only problem I have with it is how the two front legs are in the same spot, and it looks like it only has one front leg.

I think I'm rather ok with the other coats too & might be mistaken but in some cases it looks like a non finished art (pixelated manes, strong shadows or too light shading) so there is a chance they will make some more changes

So...So...*searches for word*...Fugly The ONLY new breed type, thus far that seems halfway decent to me is the one for the Hanoverian/associates. It actually looks GOOD. I'll be glad to have it. The curly is pretty decent...The Arabs are alright (although I do prefer the old style) and the Akhal-Tekes (apart from that lumpychest/thick foreleg thing, bluh) are decent...But then it just takes a turn for the worse.

Totally prefer the old Shetland!

I got to admit - looking at the new coats, I am reminded a lot of some of the original coats with the way they are shaded:

Though I will agree - I am not a big fan of some of them *hugs her Friesians and is thankful for all the Friesian-like GA coats*, but others I just love

Just by comparing old friesian graphic with the new one I realised how weird neck our "old" friesian has. Just go, and take a look at it He looks like trying to touch withers with his throat.

I love... let me repeat I LOVE Akhal-Teke coat (And I'm not the type that goes all "wow" on new stuff ) They made few mistakes, but it looks more like pure AT with some conformation issues, than a horse trying to be AT.


Shetland pony... I'm one of not many people who actually LIKE present graphic This fluffy cuddly thing that looks nothing like a Shetty is just cute
New Shetland is much more realistic, but looks weird... maybe I'll get used to it x)

Still has few flaws, but in general looks nice and now... I might start breeding them without regrets x)

Totally! I think exactly the same. Most of them are really bad. Very few of them look nice. Mainly the ones that aren't changed too much.

P.s the chincoteague looks a little too much like the GV to me...

The coats howrse had us vote on aren't even here. Howrse should release only the coats players like and they should look at real horses. The gv don't look anything like the real thing. I have 2 uni gypsies that are quite cute. I hate the coat howrse might make them have.

Agree about GV's... I really hope it's still something kind of "in progress" They're bald, drafty and ugly...

Yeah I think you might be right. I was looking at the mustang in GIMP and noticed that the mane isn't attached properly (there's a transparent line between the neck and the mane), so maybe howrse is releasing some early versions to gauge people's reactions (?)

I don't mind the Shetland, I still think it's cute ^_^ Perhaps what it needs is a thicker and longer mane.

This is a note from Ow taken from the Test Site about it:

We have changed some coats but not all the images are on the test site so some of them (namely sport horses) aren't wearing the proper pyjamas

So with that in mind - and the nature of this topic, it seems safe to assume that these might not be the true 'final coats' we get for the horses

well I didn't think the trainwreck could get worse, then I saw the friesian, and gypsy vanner coats.. who barfed on the drawing table.. I can't draw a stick figure and am no judge for talent, but those coats are hideous

I like some coats... and dislike some others.

I hope that the Gypses get a little more feathes.
I wonder what has happened to my chincoteages.
Shetland? Uuhhh... where did the fluffiness go?


However, I do love the Arabian and Alkal-Teke coats.
