pass being free once you reach the number of points needed, I'd rather keep it the same as it is now. Because right now it's so easy to get the reserve pas for just one equus, and all you have to do is wait thirty days instead of trying to figure out what you have to do to get points.

I think I am going to like the new way of earning passes. I don't like wasting equus for a pass. I am so excited for this change. Is this going to happen on July 1st?

"When the changes arrive, it will no longer be solely based on your seniority but also on your game.

If you play regularly, you have no need to worry as you will still be able to get one pass every 30 days. We are making this change because we'd like to reward our active players"

When they say based on your game is this just logging in everyday? as they go on to mention that if you play regularly that your don't need to worry.
If this is so why do those who don't play regularly need to worry either (as no change seems to be taking place other than the fact you no longer need to pay for a pass, which realistically you never have to as mentioned by The Drama Queen )

I'm actually going to love the new feature. I log on everyday anyway and I can complete most tasks done throughout the day and since it takes one month to be able to buy the pass anyway, that seems like a long enough time to get the bar completely filled.

This new pass system is great, at least for players that have a lot of equus and don't want to buy passes for 1.000.000 equus for example default smiley :d

I went and had a look at the Equideow free pass explanation, and here is a very, very, very rough translation I've got from google. It came from the change log...I'll re-post it in its original French below in case anyone else can get a better translation.
I can't actually try to get a sense for how it works as I only have about 5 days seniority over there. I've posted the info in spoilers to save some space. Also note, I didn't bother including the information about how the pass gauge is affected between the "worlds" over there since we don't have them on this server.

Operation
On the page of the pass , you can discover the gauge of the hard pass . This gauge increases depending on your actions on the game of 10 points per day at most , to a total of 300 points. Playing normally , you will see this gauge climb gradually.
Once completed the gauge , go to the page of the past and playing a mini-game. You receive the pass when you pass the mini-game. If you fail the mini-game , you can repeat as many times as necessary.
tips

If you do not log or do not share about the game, your gauge will not move.
By driving up your gauge of 10 points per day , you will get your pass after 30 days.
If you do not obtain enough shares to 10 points / day you can get less. For example 3 points the first day , 9 points to the second day will make you so 12 points in total.
Co-management does not raise the gauge.
The actions that drive up the gauge are kept secret.

Le Pass de l'Assidu

Le pass de l'assidu vous permet de gagner des pass en jouant à Equideow. Vous êtes ainsi récompensé pour participer activement à la vie du jeu.

Fonctionnement

Sur la page des pass,vous pouvez découvrir la jauge du pass de l'assidu. Cette jauge augmente en fonction de vos actions sur le jeu de 10 points par jour au maximum, jusqu'à un total de 300 points. En jouant normalement, vous verrez cette jauge grimper progressivement.

Une fois la jauge complétée, allez sur la page des pass et jouez à un mini-jeu. Vous recevez le pass lorsque vous réussissez le mini-jeu. Si vous échouez au mini-jeu, vous pouvez recommencer autant de fois que nécessaire.

Important : la jauge n'apparait que sur un seul monde. Par défaut, elle a été activée sur le monde où vous vous êtes inscrit en premier. Vous pouvez la changer de monde comme vous le souhaitez. Dans ce cas, la jauge est réinitialisée.

Les actions prises en compte sont celles que vous effectuez sur le monde où la jauge est active.
Conditions d'accès

avoir validé son adresse email (rendez-vous sur la page mon compte si ce n'est pas le cas)
Avoir au moins 30 jours d'ancienneté

Astuces

Si vous ne vous connectez pas ou ne faites pas d'actions sur le jeu, votre jauge ne bougera pas.
En faisant grimper votre jauge de 10 points par jour, vous obtiendrez votre pass au bout de 30 jours.
Si vous ne faites pas suffisamment d'actions pour obtenir 10 points/jour vous pouvez en obtenir moins. Par exemple 3 points au premier jour, 9 points au deuxième jour vous feront donc 12 points au total.
La co-gestion ne permet pas de faire monter la jauge.
Les actions qui font grimper la jauge sont maintenues secrètes.

I'm not sure if I'm going to like this new set up for the passes. I only take care of my divines, enter them in comps, and participate in the events. I don't really do anything with my normal horses anymore and I'd be pretty bummed if that meant I'm gonna miss out on points for the bar. default smiley (n)

Will some people be testing what makes the bar rise? Are there speculations anywhere?

I just see this as another way for howrse not to have to give out free passes.
Somehow in the future I can see them changing the way pass horses work so they don't have to give out 10 free passes that way every month

Even though this is already in place on Equideow I would imagine it would also be on an up-coming preprod session as most new features are. I just wish Howrse had either waited until some players had gotten a chance to test it(if they get to do so) or that they had posted more information about it instead of the vague PM that was sent out. Game play is just going to get clogged with the same question over and over again about what it means and how it will work, but there aren't going to be many players here that have the answer.

I wasn't aware this was such an unpopular feature that there was any need to change it. I can't help but wonder what the "tasks" will be, and whether or not new players. and those unwilling to dehorn unis, give up their horses, buy and sell on Ow's command, will get any passes.

Well, there go all my GAs. Which was the only reason I put up with all the unnneeded changes. I don't want to have to perform some silly game and do things that don't contribute to my game.

Since the pass gauge seems to be based on basic game play and that "The actions that drive up the gauge are kept secret" I'm not seeing that we'll have to do your typical promo objectives to drive up the gauge.

We'll just have to wait until we get more information from either Admin or players on Equideow before we start panicking about how it works. It might just be simple basic stuff like feeding your horses and winning comps that get you points.

That's what I was thinking. Probably training horses too, since 'active players' tend to do all of that naturally.

I'm not sure about this. I like the way you get a free pass but if the tasks you have to do to get points are similar to the promos (give horse to Ow, dehorn ect. ) I don't think i will do it. I have built up my game and don't really want to do those kinda things. But, if it's just normal daily chores (feed, train, bed ect.) i will try to get the points. Hopefully, we'll get more information on it soon.

Again, we don't know as of yet, but as I stated a few posts above yours, I'd say no since the actions that drive up the gauge are secret. The actions wouldn't be secret if there were posted objectivesdefault smiley ;) There a few players that post in this forum that do play on Equideow, so perhaps they'd be willing to share some info about this when they log on and check out this topic

We have that new way of earning passes on the french version for 2 months.

You need to do simple actions, like looking after a horse (drink, eat, competition...), catching an ovni, posting on the forum...
If you do enough different actions, you get 10 points a day.
