It helps keep them a bit more rare. There are already enough of them on the game.

Unicorns are pretty cheap in the direct sales if you wish to not use your own.

The Great Challenge also had the option in the past to have someone else assist you by doing the objective for you, and I think that is staying the same this round. This way, another player could take a unicorn horn off of their own horse so you wouldn't have to. You could also simply not do that objective.

You can buy them in the black market when they're offered for 2 passes per fleece.

I believe we were told that there wouldn't be any draft unicorns. Since they can only be covered a few times, unless people always used Hestia's gift they would end at some point. But there have been no mentions of new unicorn breeds. The only breed that doesn't have them is the Selle, and usually they wait until there are two before releasing them (last few times it's been through the 'you get a random uni from the new breeds for every 10 passes you buy' method).

Thursday - February 11th, 2016 = start of the Great Challenge.

Not sure if this will also be the start of the Valentine's Day UFO event - but I can confirm this is indeed the start date of the Great Challenge barring any major issues.

Doesn anyone if festivities will be here when new coats are relased (because of earning tickets)? I was on preprod, but forgot how long did the GC lasted. . .

If the GC arrives here on the 11th February, and there are 12 major prizes to be won with each day of the GC (found here), then it should take about 2 weeks before the lottery starts.

I will take a guess that the lottery will start around the 25th February, so around the time of coat release. default smiley :)
