I don't have a calculation so much as an explanation. Thank you! Your explanation was very useful I think I'll save my passes for a different divine then, since he's going to be expensive and it doesn't look like I'd have enough passes to get him.

Woops, sorry for the double post. I posted once and didn't think it went through

I am referring to divines. When I was using regular horses a few years ago I constantly needed to upgrade ( and costly use of passes to get a decent skillers) only to end up second all the time because a Divine was entered in that comp.) So when I started to get some divines, it allowed me to enter divine comps and actually win something. This was fine until with the constant dumping of low level non upgradable divines that filled so many divine comps ( and spilled over to open comps) that the 96 divines I had simply could not be placed. That forced me to reduce the number of divines workable to about 35 that had to be cared for daily to get the perk. If I and all the divine holders actually used every divine they owned, believe me it would be a disaster. However when we get a series like the Zodiacs, Celtics ( many gemstones), rainbows, greyfells, Wilds, and the various "other" divines that are at the 200 skill per discipline level get constantly dumped on us the available ECs that hold divine comps can't supply the comps to supply the available divines. This means a bigger and bigger spill over of divines into open comps. No one wants to go with divine EC comps because of the prestige disaster it brings ( and I can't blame them). What is happening is that a third of the must care for divines are having a more and more difficult time finding a comp to enter. The other day I just took them, did a mission, fed them and put them all to bed at 12 used and 100% energy because of the lack of comps to enter ( Western or English) Without a complete rethink of the dumping of non upgradable divines or overhaul of the whole EC prestige thing this has only one way to go and it is not the sunny side up. That makes sense. I only have two divines I work and I've seen no more than two dressage comps at a time for weeks. Already players who host divine comps get 500e each time they run. Maybe we could spread this information around more? Newbies might be easily persuaded, since their EC's aren't worried about prestige anyway and may of them are desperate for more equus. If an update on the game raised the 500e to something better, or offered a chunk of equus or a pass per X times the comp runs, that could also make more players host. Say maybe 25 editions of the race give 20k, with a cap on frequency to stop VIPs from making a mint on hourly comps. The overflow does become a problem. Also, fewer players are entering their lower horses so comps with one divine tend to stand waiting for a while. More divine comps could go far towards solving this. Give us the option to run one more comp. We currently have the option to have 5 comps running. Howrse just needs to add one more - one that will be locked to divines only. And make it so that the EC owner does NOT loose prestige. To make EC owners willing to use that option, it could bring the EC owner X amount of resources. Or even give us an option of having 2 additional divine comps. One could be tweaked so divine could have their own rosette comps, and the second for lower level divines. And/or since their so happy about trophies - gives a trophy for that as well. A prestige change or way to run divine comps with less worry would be very nice. Maybe make it so only four of your comps count for prestige if one is Divine-only? I understand that adding a new comp would be difficult, but without a change to the prestige the only way for us to get more divine comps is to ask our fellow players to host them.

I agree with Spyder regarding comps. I'm at the point where the only time I comp a Divine is during a promos to get a fast win or occasionally my own cross comp to keep out Guilfaxi. Otherwise they're pretty much just AP farmers now. Far too many useless Divines with no perks and horrible skills that get stomped on by the new so-called Foundys.
As for the new pass system it will ruin my game. As a non pass buyer, those guaranteed 30 pass horses a month pay for my VIP, EC lesson skiller and employees needed to keep my EC above 95%. If I can't pay for VIP my EC prestige will drop without the trainer and vet. I won't be able to offer 1 day boarding, thus lesson price may drop and all 22 VIP perk Divines I own will be utterly useless. I hope like the RC BMI that was proposed and shelved, that with enough players speaking out against this new system (including the servers proving that it's not welcome) Howrse will rethink this plan and either eliminate it entirely or at least come up with a fairer way so it doesn't so adversely affect the majority of their players. |

Click to display I really don't understand why we can't have the Divine that needs you to kill off horses and still be able to keep our pass horse system in place. I think there is a need for them to come up with a reason for people to start sending horses to heaven or where ever. (Guilty of hoarding) There are SO many horses that are floating around and with SH being so cheap, it is a no brainer to throw it into sales for 5x the amount. Which in turn keeps it floating around the game and keeping the supply of horses through the roof. I think that is part of our horrible economy. All Supply and No Demand. I don't think however that 1 divine and getting rid of the current pass system is the answer. Maybe both together would put a dent in the surplus of horses. I think the main concern with the game in general should be fixing the economy... because right now it is bad and it is hurting everyone. At the top and the bottom of the totem pole. Rant over lol |

Click to display In my opinion, if Howrse wants rid of the extra pixels, they could simply increase the payout from Safe Haven to something like a fixed amount of 3000 equus. Sounds better then replacing a feature that has been here since the game begun for a clear cash grab of a system. The sound of a ranking for horses killed sounds really disgusting considering Howrse is a "family" game, as it claims. |

o.0 I so totally thought I was the only one getting fed up with lack of comps for my wilds and divines. Especially the lower skilled ones. I find that right after update...like...literally right after was the best time to comp them and now it's even getting difficult for that. *headdesks*

The sound of a ranking for horses killed sounds really disgusting considering Howrse is a "family" game, as it claims. If the Haven increases, whos to say that the junk horse price won't increase? The bottom prince almost always changes depending on demand on junks for promos. Click to display As for this pass horse change, I am completely furious. I rely on them (as many players do) for my VIP. If the change does happen, I highly doubt howrse will have many VIPs & players left. It is a ridiculous changen and I hope the serves that are sadly being used as mice will be heard loud and clear about this change. It serves no one but howrse. While I attempt to view many things on their side of things, this change is something I simply can not stand for. Back in 2013, wasn't their a feature that you had to care for your horses or they would loose health? Couldn't bringing that back allow the chance for many junks to disappear? I have 500 horses that sit in my farms to collect dust, and other players have much much more. That is so much space that could be deleted & used again.

I would prefer to keep the pass horse system. I work horses all the time and they get age points for my game while they are getting older until they become a pass horse. The 10 passes a month from pass horses, pay my VIP account.
I remember when ther was not a limit on the number of pass horses you could send a month and get a pass for everyone one of them. But also in those days, you could not sell a horse even a devine for more than 20 passes. So was a backward step making it only 10 for a pass, then a bm item. Plus if howrse want to reduce the number of horses, well by cutting out the pass horses, that will reduce the number of horses being sent to heaven, as not many people will bother doing it just to grow a devine with no benefits. Maybe the new devine should give the pass and grow at the same time. That would work. |

Newbies might be easily persuaded, since their EC's aren't worried about prestige anyway and may of them are desperate for more equus. If more looked at their EC as a way to gain equs a new player could easily put divine only and rookies and get 1500 per race won. Finding entries would be so easy and it almost looks after itself. Players need to know the the EC is the heart and soul of this game. I challenge anyone to tell me how this game could run as it stands now with not a single EC available.

Click to display Epona will be available in one of the coming promos that we know about. Click to display Yeah, I heard something, that maybe she will be one of the divines in the Advent calendar on Saturdays. That's the only way she actually fits in, because we know about the tree decorating promo's divine are Balios, Cernunnos, Mist, the wild horse, and Sagittarius. So she can't be in that promo. And we know the prizes for the Snowball fight, and she is not there. Therefore it's the only way. Do we have confirmed information about it, or is it just guessing?

Click to display I've looked through a few pages but does anyone know specifically what the christmas packs will contain, or, have theories? Here it is: Click to display Packs Pack Lucky Day It (might) have: 10 Titan's Challenge The new divine Epona 1 Treasure Chest VIP some Passes Pack Olympe It (might) have: 80 passes a divine horse at your election the new Balios Pack Ultimate It seems it would be everything that the other pack's offers. ** Also there's mentioned "Rikiki pack" but I couldn't find picture/info about it,, It's what Kusni wrote. And I heardm from other servers, that maybe the fourth "Rikki pack" (or they called it Little/Tiny pack) can contain 20 passes/ a Falabella at your choice/other gifts (like aging points or Equus). But I 'm not absolutely sure about it.

Bumping
Bumping up the December promo post: I also made a correction to "Speeding up the expedition" Divine Click to display Yes, Winter was switched out for the Wild horse Prizes Click to display A Drum horse is gotten by completing the tree you decorate in the tutorial. It appears we can also send for more Drum horse trees and get more as well. Not sure if that will apply to the live server, but we'll see. Otherwise, I think everything else is the same from the first prize images that were posted Instructions: Click to display Changes from previous version Promo instructions Picking your prize: Click to display Yes, you don't need to choose a team of horses this time. You just click the forest you want that has the tree prize you want, then click an arrow to scroll through the trees in that forest. The board to the right tells you what decorations are required and a nifty check mark appears if you have the decorations needed for that tree! So no guessing or anything. Item packs Click to display Here is a link to my post about Decoration Packs Speeding up the expedition **UPDATE** Click to display These are the Express Delivery prices if you want to start decorating your tree right away. The original prices I posted were not correct as we experienced a bug that did not display the correct prices. The price decreases the longer you wait. Actually it seems to be totally random, maybe changing every day and it is very rare to get 10 point in 1 day. We are literally trying everything, but things are going even worst. For the first one/two weeks we "easily" got about 6-8 point per day, but now the difficulty to earn points it's doubled. I can post my own experience: I take care of nearly 1000 horses, almost 1-2 blup, Grand Prix partecipations, taking care of E.C., writing in the forum, join the events every day. I can't get more than 7-8 points (if I am lucky, otherwise is 4-6 points per day). The day I *also* covered 550 mares and put 4 GA coats I got 9 or 10 points. But, you know, who can spend hours and hours playing howrse? |
Click to display Okay, When you send many horses to heaven, does it give us any divine or a certain divine? Click to display Not yet. But when the pass horse system change (we don't know the exact date, but won't happen before next year), we will. We will be able to get Yggdrasil with sending +25 years old horses to heaven. Yggdrasil won't have any perks, but wil be able to grow, changing his appearence with it.

Regarding the divine comp problem (which I agree is a huge problem that only stands to get worse), another thing they could do is allow any divine with skills lower than the current foundy GP to enter open comps like any other horse. The original reason divine only comps were introduced was because divines used to be comp monsters that normal horses had no hope against - the same cannot be said now, especially with divines like Jade and Falabellas. A lot of the time now, even the payout from divine comps is worse than it is for normal comps - a lot of jumping and XC divine comps have a kitty of less than 100e, while normal comps of the same level have kitties of 120e+.
Or they could allow divine comps to run more frequently. 500e per comp may not be enough for some people to decide the prestige loss is worth it, but if all divine comps would run 4 times a day (2,000e a day per comp - 10,000e a day if you have five divine comps), the extra equus may persuade more people, especially new players. Agreed. Also, they would need to rethink the trophies. We need at least one horse of every colour of every breed just to get the coats colour trophies, which is hundreds of horses alone. Then there are divine trophies, and GA trophies, and RC trophies, and companion trophies... A lot of my 'dud' horses just sit around adding to my trophy count (and occasionally are AP farmed, which used to be a daily thing before I stopped breeding competitively). Adding new Click to display monthly rankings for killing off horses is unlikely to persuade people to cut into their trophy collection, or even their AP farm horses.

Regarding the divine comp problem (which I agree is a huge problem that only stands to get worse), And so we are getting a bunch more divines at the lowest rate with a terrible drop rate, not even getting skill points to get them competing at a higher level. In fact they will give you nothing for 5-10 days but you MUST care for to get the prediction ( on preprod after 7 days never got all the letters to get even the lowest gift--bell boots). So to me they are another wave of divines taking ( or trying) comps that don't exist. And don't forget people paid passes ( from pass horses and loyalty points) for this "divine". I didn't want it and was quite harpy it is not another divine in my barn gathering dust. Not a pretty picture.
