Okay but now lets say all 25 of those copies already exist in the game we KNOW that the big RC collectors are not selling theirs... (Almost a definite)
So now that leaves say 15 copies that MIGHT become available.. makes them valuable for the person who has a chance to sell it
Suddenly a counterfeiter (Howrse) makes new copies... How does the original art owners feel?
Assuming those new copies can be sold then perhaps. If only a few people can manage to get their hands on it [and with real money btw, you cannot say someone didn't work for that] then I'm sorry if you do feel ripped off because of how hard you may have had to work to get it in the game, but supporting this game isn't a bad reason to get lucky. And a ton of people will still be looking to buy those 15 copies and they would still be the only 15 copies that those people could get their hands on.

But again, that keeps the assumption that the horses cannot be sold

After applying some more ice to a really bad bruise I got from falling down on rollerskates on my class's field trip at school day, I was thinking all this over.

There are some many different opinions, and everyone has a valid point here. Evolution could be considered a belief, or fact, or whatever people think of it, but since suddenly we're all talking about evolution and religion- isn't that against the game rules? Besides, is this discussion really getting us anywhere??? I think people keep stating the same things again after the same point has been re-iderated many times.

All those in favor of No evolution horses and no RC thing could write a letter to Contact Us- we could actually do something insetad of posting in the spoiler forum...not really getting anywhere with what we want howrse to be like.

I have to give a personal example which is very geeky, i have a custom piece of Captain America artwork i won in a competition from Marvel Studios, it is worth a fortune and if i found out another copy existed in the world it would decrease the value significantly

That is how evolution works, everything starts out random and then the best fit option survives and carries on. The widely accepted theory is the initial energy was provided by an electrical storm or just from inherent chemical energy.
By Retired breeder, 14th November 2014 03:14:42
But I'm like totally with you if the count goes up and a bunch of people can have it and if the horses can be sold.

That will make them lose their value and just spit on everyone who had to work really, really hard to get low use coats.

But if the count is not disrupted, and only a small few [there are over 30,000 people who log on daily to this game I believe] of people can get it, like 5-10 to a coat. I don't see how you complain as much as people are. Because it will be a small benefit for some pass buyers and a huge benefit for pass-buying RC collecters. But it could not hurt sales at all. You would not sell it for a different price unless the demand was lowered significantly.

And maybe you worked really hard to get a certain coat, but someone else got that coat simply by buying it. And it's not a spit on you if a couple other people can add it to their collection for that one purpose only as a thank-you for supporting the site.

If you were selling it and found that out, but you knew there was no possible way the other person could sell it, would you all of a sudden sell it for less?

What i think is we all have out own beliefs, fine, but we don't need to preach them on a site where it is irrelevant and against the rules, we can all get along without knowing, i mean it's not like we're telling each other what waist size we are because it's irrelevant so i think the conversation should just go poof default smiley :)

Zombie you will never or won't allow yourself to see this from a collectors point of view so I will end my discussion with you by saying what Howrse is doing is ethically and morally wrong to long time RC collectors who have poured 1000s of dollars into this game.. (Yes thousands)

Yes because people are less inclined to buy it if they know another one exists, the way millionaires buy the one of a kind Lamborghinis and pay a LOT for them because they are just that, one of a kind. They won't pay as much if they know others have it.

I do have to say as an artist as a limited edition coat, making more copies than what i specified behind my back is pretty much going against my initial agreement with them.
