Click to display I made this observation on the test server, but for some reason the neck looks like a totally different style than the rest of the horse. The neck's shading reminds me of the more cartoonish event horses, while the rest looks like the more recent divines with their... anatomical issues. |
Preprod: Click to display My Sushi dropped his Poseidon Pack every 54-60 days, does anybody else get similar results? He seems in line with Carnival, still worse than Arion. Click to display mine dropped his first on the 18th day, followed by the 51st and then 55 more days, so that seems pretty accurate.

Regarding the artwork:
Click to display Maybe we could all send in a contact us form about it? I feel like the art is getting worse as well, and the one-winged dragons irk me so much. (Apparently my 1 form was not enough, lol.) But maybe if they get a lot of messages about it, they will do something with our feedback? Not to bash the artist, but I feel like Frankenstein was right: Click to display It feels like the artist doesn't know, or enjoy, drawing horses too. I don't mean that to sound bad, but look at how well done the piece of sushi is. Really good color and detailing, and yet the horse is disproportional and is literally one color. No design at all. If you took the sushi off it would be just an orange-pink horse. Howrse has so much creative freedom- they're literally making "divine" horses that are meant to be unique and breathtaking. A lot of the solar system divines have that magical look, and so do the mythological, but many of the recent ones don't, or are missing a decent chunk of design. Like Pendragon; I really like his look but he's missing a wing and his tail is completely smooth, lacking in the detailing of the body. What happened? Making art IS hard. But it truly seems like horses are NOT this artists cup of tea. The shrimp on Sushi looks, indeed, absolutely gorgeous in terms of shading and color... And what's with all the new horses having this strange human skin-like color?
|
Literally ruined Pendragon for me once I gave him a good look aahhh the one wing thing is a reoccuring issue we've spoken about it before, how is it still happening? His arm literally looks like its been cropped out of another image and slapped on I really like a majority of his design, but the parts that are lacking really stand out :') I'm not quite sure why wings are such an issue, even if they copy+pasted the first wing and did a bit of warping and shading it would be a huge improvement. @Kipduif Click to display "Making art IS hard. And what's with all the new horses having this strange human skin-like color?" Lawd do not get me started on the flesh colors x.x I get the color of Sushi to a degree, since it is a flesh tone, but I think a different choice would've been better. One that compliments the design without needing to be peach. Same with Drakorn, she's a combination of my least favorite colors, and has human hair. It's just off enough to be uncomfortable 3: Have we seen any changes to divine art when enough players don't like it? I seem to remember one divine getting a change, but I think it was exceptionally bad/out of place. I'd have no problems putting in a suggestion to change Sushi's color and maybe add a bit of design to the actual body, but with Howrse's track record I don't expect much.

Regarding the new divine:
Click to display I agree art can be really hard since i love to sketch and draw, but i must say they could have done a bit better. The color scheme is really quite bland in my opinion for a divine ( as in has been for several other of the more recent divines ). It's a cute idea for a divine but there are so many types of sushi out there that they could choose from and make a amazing color scheme for a divine out of! I think RowanGreen described it best when they said "That's not a sushi horse, it's a horse wearing sushi" I also agree it does seem like the artist doesn't seem familiar/ good at drawing horses from the proportions. On a side note, the little sushi drawings are absolutely adorable! And i agree with Seisséane , they need to do a origami divine. |
When I saw the new divine, I was like stunned in surprise at it’s ugliness

Regarding new Divine et al:
Click to display I'm sure the devs plan far in advance new promos and Divines. There are some truly amazing artists in the Howrse community. Why not have a theme for the creation space (Nordic inspired, Greek inspired etc) and the coat with the most votes gets to be for a future Divine? The winning artist also gets a special bonus for being chosen. Obviously won't please everyone but may be more positively accepted if players have a say in what is visually appealing in future Divines.

Click to display i think sushi would look better with a white body like everyone else said. I also think it would look better with a different horse base. As for the base, i think this breed would be good. Noma, a breed native to japan and critically endangered ( according to Wikipedia ) it's quite small and i think a small model would be better for sushi ( since it's supposed to be bite sized or eaten within 2-4 bites ) plus it is a breed native to japan. This breed can also be found in white. |

Here is the full Click to display Dragon tack set on a horse: Needless to say all I want is the saddle cloth and polo wraps That is hilarious! I want it all! Even if it's just for comedy relief. |
Re tack:
Click to display I actually love this! Does anyone know if it's 3 pieces or are there going to be a saddle and bridle as well?

Re divine:
Click to display I had been thinking about it being human skin tones too. I can see the point of that in some cases, like Samurai and Momotarō. But in others, like this, it's just, why? It's not as if it's a rule for the Japanese divines: Bonsai and Yukki don't have it. And don't get me started on Drakorn. I've got used to it being female, so it now looks less like an ex-president to me, but it still looks like it's naked. Agree I don't think the artist likes drawing horses.

Thanks Nalu! I thought it looked a bit 'bare' in places

do we know the prizes for the new event ?
|
Wait....
Click to display They can't give a dragon two wings, but they can post a picture of a saddle with a second side with second stirrup that you'll never see in use?

Click to display Honestly a bit baffled on the valuing of some of those items... a WoY, Pandora's Box, and P Stroke are not crystal chest prizes, they're gold at best, same can be said for the A Heel and small amounts of equus and aging points.
|
Click to display Oathkeeper has a point. Also... I think Golden Apple and Aphrodite's Tears should have been replaced by Harmony Pack and Hera's Pack, respectively. I'm a bit baffled by the math, too. 21 Crystal, 21 Gold, and 21 Wooden. I feel it would have made more sense for there to be less Crystal, more Gold, and more Wooden. The Crystal chests would have expensive, valuable BMIs. And fragments, almost forgot about those... Yes, it would be harder to get Crystal chests, but isn't that the point?
|
Click to display Also, in crystal chests, the fragments amount should be 56-26. Not 26 as the high. Especially if you want the divine. |
Click to display Ugh... and more tack for the upcoming sushi event? I am so tired of seeing tack and companions. They're cool and all, and useful, but this streak is getting really, really annoying. Anyone remember when they offered Liten in an event like this (he was fairly easy to win, too!), and another divine as the main prize?

Click to display Completely agree, especially after the very lackluster prizes from the current promo... Not sure how a HOP, ZLB, A Heel and P Stroke are all the same price (or around that) in the Black Market but only one of them is a gold chest (where they all belong imo). It seems they're trying to wean us off the more expensive BMIs. Really annoying that the gifts are just getting worse and worse for promos...
|
Re prize distribution:
Click to display The mix of prizes doesn't bother me. The way I see it, if you found treasure chests in real life they would be filled with a mix. The fancier chest might have some more valuable stuff in it, but you'd also some naff stuff that the owner had been given by an aunt, or got as a child..... The plain chest might mostly have practical, plain stuff, but might also surprise you with a hidden gem.
