I received the invite message on the 21st Oct at 3pm UK time. By the time I saw it and went to the homepage to sign up at 6.30 pm there were only 24 slots left so I think they must have gone very quickly. An hour or so later and the banner had disappeared.

Despite not seeing it for days (hence asking my question), I JUST saw it and clicked on it just now. It said there were 324 spots left for VIPs.

Informed speculation no, as it's only up on the Howrse_SE Twitter feed and usually the only server brave enough to tell us where they are is Lowadi, or sometimes Equideow.
I can take an educated guess, though?

Zaldia's going to be in the shop, as usual.
The Wanderer's Spirit is going to be the Legends Spirit (the ones we just had, with Gorgon Faun etc) as a first release.
Hela is going to be at level 6 of the Titan's challenge. default smiley :p

Notes:
-You can get a 3× bonus from participating in the event.

-The number of fragments that you can get from the event depends on 1) which monsters you choose to do and 2) which prizes you pick. You could choose to not do fragment monsters at all or you could choose yo do only fragment monsters. Therefore, you can get anywhere from 0-X fragments from the promo.

The event:
Click to display
-You can win 3 decorations from logging in daily (1 from each type), 3 for taking your horses for rides (1 from each type), 3 for registering your horses for competitions (1 from each type) (you don't need to win the comps to get the items) and of course you can win 9 items from logging in for 5 days in a row (3 of each type).
--You can get a total of 204 decorations for free during the promo. Thats 68 of each decoration for free.
--You can also get 2 decorations from the flash sales every 2 days. That's a total of 18 more decorations of your choice from the flash sales.

-Otherwise you can pay for them with equus in the flash sales where they cost 8120eq each in direct or 3001eq minimum at auctions. NB: you can only buy 1 decoration per sale type every 2 days during the promo. And the price is constant across all decorations for the duration of the promo. And the auctions may be more expensive than the direct flash sales. Remember: 1) there is no 'rare' type of decoration and 2) you don't need to buy a specific decoration. You just need to buy another decoration of the same type and you'll be able to pay 1000eq to exchange it for the decoration that you do want. So there is really no need to waste your equus reserve in a bidding war for a decoration.

-It is possible to trade out decorations that you have for ones that you don't have (in the SAME type) for 1000eq each. So for example, you can under the faces category, you can trade a mouth that you have for an eye that you don't have. But it will cost you 1000eq. And you CAN'T trade a face part for a limb.

-The community objective unlocks 3× Yōkai fragments. You can help complete it by placing decorations on your monsters.

-It costs 70p to get 4× items from 1 type (so 4 faces OR 4 limbs OR 4 accessories will cost 70p)

-You cannot remove decorations after you place them. Be careful with what you add to your monster.

-During the promo, you will be given a chance to submit a monster to be added into the game as a new companion.

-When you autocomplete a monster, expect all the decorations/parts to be piled on top of one another. Also, the number of parts that have already been added to the monster has no effect on the price to autocomplete it. So autocompleting a monster that only needs 1 more part will will cost the same as autocompleting a monster that has no parts added to it.
--Costs: 180p for monsters 1-4;
300p for monsters 5-8;
..and 500p for monsters 9-12

-Finish your monster before you collect your reward. Once you collect your reward, you lose the ability to change stuff on your monster because the monster is considered "complete".

-You get to pick which prizes you want. Yes, you can avoid fragments entirely if you choose to do so.

-Yes, you can continue to decorate more monsters after you have completed decorating your 12th monster.

-You MUST complete monster 12 to enter your monster into the "competition".

Suggested monsters to get a decent number of fragments:
Click to display
1× monster 1
3× monster 2
2× monster 3
1× monster 5
2× monster 6
1× monster 7
1× monster 9
2× monster 11
1× monster 12

-With this, you will get 446 "free" fragments from the promo by using your daily decorations.

-NB: this is not the order in which you should complete the monsters. It is only an indication of which monsters you should complete.

-NB: this set of monsters may not give you the maximum number of fragments, but the number of fragments that you'll get is more or less within the standard range of "free" promo fragments for most promos.

And if you intend to buy decorations from the flash sales then make sure that you buy 6 faces, 5 limbs and 6 accessories and then do monster 10 to get an extra 54 fragments for total of exactly 500 "free" fragments.

If you want a slightly more detailed breakdown then refer to my EC forum. I'll post it there.

I would like to give another huge thanks to Nalu93 (Int)!! Thank you for your help again!! It is much appreciated!!

The how-to guide:

Designing your monster:
Click to display
Pick what colour you want a part to be and then place the part on your monster. After you place it, you get the option to click on it to make changes to it. If you click on the part, every other part on your monster will be greyed out and a list of 7 options to choose from will appear for the part that you selected.

Going down the list:
-The 1st option allows you to make the part bigger.
-The 2nd option allows you to make the part smaller.
--^^You can create "distance" between parts by making one part smaller/bigger than the other depending on the stance. So for example, making one leg small and the other large may create the illusion that the monster is "stepping forward".
--If you can't fit all the decorations on the monster, you can try making each part smaller to give you "more" space to work with. (Or you can try hiding the extra decorations behind the monster so that they can't be seen.)

-The 3rd option allows you to rotate the part in a clockwise direction.
-The 4th option allows you to rotate the part in a counterclockwise direction.
--^^These options are very useful for creating angles between parts and can be used for different effects. Eg. You can rotate your monster's leg and place it on the side of your monster to create the illusion that your monster is lifting it's leg or you can do that with both legs to make it look like your monster is running.
--You can rotate each part for a maximum of 360° in each direction.

-The 5th option allows you to reflect the part vertically (left/right reflection, NOT up/down).
--^^This is how you add "symmetrical" wings, eyes, limbs etc. to your monster.

-The 6th option allows you to bring the part forward.
--^^You may need to click on this button several times to bring a part all the way to the front if it's piled underneath other parts. Although, the part itself may be difficult to click on at that point, so it may be easier to just use option 7 to push all the top other parts backwards instead.

-The 7th option allows you to send the object backwards. This option will make the part look like it's sticking out from behind whatever you placed it on.
--^^If you have several parts piled onto each other and you use this option, the part will only be placed behind the thing right beneath it. You will need to click this option several times to send the part all the way to the back. If you do use this feature and click on the part that you sent back, a little eye will appear to the top right of your monster creation area. You can click it to see the entire part that you sent backwards.
--You can also hide a part completely by making it smaller and sending it all the way to the back if you don't want it to be seen on your monster.

-The tick is the confirm button. If you do not confirm your changes, the part will go back to how it was before you made the changes.

--Doing anything to deselect the part that you are making changes to (before you click the tick) will also make the part go back to how it was before you made the changes. Remember to click on the tick!!

-The × is the cancel button. Clicking that will also reset your part to how it was before you made any changes.

Click to display
Other tips:

-The eye LOVES symmetry, balance and proportion. Of course, we are working with monsters here so neither of those aspects are too important. But some degree of each should still be maintained.

--For example, if your monster only has 1 leg and that leg is attached to it's side then it will look very *unbalanced*. It will look as if it's about to fall over because it has no support on it's other side. To correct that, you could do something like try to align the leg with the centre of the monster's body (*symmetry*) or maybe you could even leave the leg there and instead you could give your monster an oversized arm to hold it up, in which case the arm would replace the missing leg. (*proportion*) Remember, you're creating your own monster. So things like proportion, symmetry and balance shouldn't be your main focus. But it will also be *difficult* to create awesome monsters who lack that completely because monsters like that probably won't make sense to the eye at all. (Basically, the eye likes things that make sense.)

-When you view the monsters, you won't see the background. So if you create a monster that's interacting with the background (such as leaning on the pole), it will look odd when you view the monster without the background (the monster will appear to be falling over because the pole is non-existent).

-You can view your monsters (or another player's monsters) by going to your/their profile page and clicking "X's monsters". It has a huge "share" button next to it.

-Some parts can be used for many different effects. E.g. you can rotate an accessory tusk/horn 180° and use it as a leg. Those feathers can be used to create hair or even a moustache. Be creative. Not all parts need to be used according to their given types.

Submitting your monster:
Click to display
-Before you get the opportunity to submit a monster to the game, you will need to create at least 12 monsters first. The 12 monsters can include any combination of 11 monsters + monster 12 (the one that offers the egg). You will NOT be allowed the opportunity to submit a monster to be voted on if you don't complete monster 12. Even if you complete 13+ monsters- you will NOT be able to submit a monster until you complete monster 12.

-Remember that button I told you about earlier from which you can view your own monsters and other player's monsters? Yeah. That's where you need to go submit your monster. Only 1 submission is allowed per player, so choose carefully (yes, you get to pick which monster to submit). There should be a "submit" button under each monster as you scroll through them. Once you have made your choice, click the button and click confirm.

--You are allowed to change your submission up until the end of the event. Just remember that you can only submit 1 monster.

Voting
Click to display
-After the promo 'ends', a "choose a companion" banner will appear at the top of your page (although you may need to scroll through any other banners to see it.)

-You get 3 votes per day. Voting lasts for 7 days.

-The selection of monsters that you can vote for will change after each vote you make (like when you vote for creations).

-Once you have used up your 3 votes, the selection of monsters will disappear until the next day when you get another chance to vote for your favourite monsters. This will continue until the voting period closes, after which the monster voted for monster will be selected as a new companion for the game. Only 1 monster will be selected per server.

-You can vote for your own monster.

How many monsters can I decorate per day? Are all the monsters all unlocked, and you just decorate them when you have the deco materials?
@lexie.0623
Click to display
-You can decorate as many monsters as the decorations in your inventory will allow. So if you have enough of each decoration to finish a monster 1 then you cam finish it. Or you can save up the decorations and decorate all your monsters on the last day. Although I wouldn't recommend doing that because it may take you quite a while to finish decorating higher numbered monsters because they require so many decorations that you need to think about where to place the decorations or else your monster may just looked like a scrambled mess of stuff that was placed without thought.

-For unlocking, you will need to complete at least the same number of monsters as the number before the monster that you want to unlock. So for example,
to unlock monster 9 you will need to complete 8 other monsters. Whether those 8 other monsters are monsters 1 through to 8 or just 8 monster 1s doesn't matter. Monster 9 will unlock after that either way.

-You just decorate them when you have the materials.

That is if things haven't changed from preprod to live.

Look through. Decide which prize/prizes you most want. Do a low number monster multiple times until the one you want opens up. Then work on the one that gives your prize.

(PS: event thread is now open, so best to ask any further questions in there)
