Bumping up T__T__ tips

Some tips for the T__T__promo :
I included stuff I thought players will ask questions about when the promo gets here.

collecting stuff
Click to display

First, my terms for the treat levels so as not to cause confusion.

A short guide on the free ways to collect which treats(You also start with a few during a little mini tutorial, but I didn't include those).
-From login(x17 per day) you get a combination of all three rarities: 12 most common treats, 4 common treats, 1 rare treat

-Most common/top jar treats from login:

-Common /middle jar treats from grooming (x4 treats per day):

-Rare/bottom jar treats from competition wins (x4 treats per day):

These stats have been over the past 3 days and have held the same so I *suspect* this will hold for the rest of the promo. ***New Note: the stats have still held true in the few days since***

Arrivals:
Click to display

Notes on children arrival:

The number of kids that show up seems to increase by 1 kid each day, with their being throughout the day. The free kids will leave after 48 hours(there is a countdown above the kid letting you know how long you've got until s/he leaves). The kids you call with the bells will stay until the end of the event so you can leave them be until you get their requested treats. On Day 1 we got 6 kids, Day 2 saw 7 kids,, Day 3 saw 8 and so on.

***New Tip: Since we have 48 hours until a child leaves patience is a good thing to have in this promo. If you don't have the two correct treats you need you can wait to see if you might get one you need from daily freebies or flash sales. That way you won't have to send anyone away with less than 21 points.

Getting Points:
Click to display

There are 3 levels of satisfaction a kid will leave with that will determine the number of points you get. Whenever you drag a treat into the pumpkin bag the pumpkin will give a reaction face giving you an idea of what satisfaction level you will get.

"Sad face" pumpkin(worst satisfaction)
"Ouch faced" pumpkin(better satisfaction)
"Happy face" pumpkin(best, obviously!)

Obviously giving the pumpkin the correct treat will yield a "happy" face; giving it the incorrect treat of the same rarity level will yield a "ouch" face; and an incorrect treat of a lower rarity level will yield a "sad" face. Since you're giving it two treats, the pumpkin will give you two reaction faces for each treat you give him.

For a refresher, here are the 3 satisfaction point levels:
Kids with less than 12 satisfaction points are sad. Expect a trick!
Between 12-21 points - neutral satisfaction
Greater than 21 points - happy child.
*The points given depends on the rarity of the treat*(I'll get into this farther down)
there are 26 points max.

Here was the combination of reactions I had vs. the satisfaction level:
(reaction+reaction=points received. Satisfaction level)
Sad+Sad= 2 points. Got a trick
Sad+Ouch= 10 points. Got a trick
Sad+Happy= 14 points. Neutral satisfaction

Ouch+Ouch=12 points. Neutral satisfaction
Ouch+Happy= 18 points. Neutral satisfaction

Happy+Happy= 22 points. Happy satisfaction

As noted above, you do get more points when you give it the correct treat of a higher rarity level, so just because your pumpkin gives an ouch+ouch face doesn't mean it'll get 12 points every time. For the above stats I just recorded the reactions and the points, not the rarity levels given. However, below I *did* record the points received for the correct treats and their rarity levels.

(These were all correct treats given so it was a happy+happy face)
22 points= Most common+Most common treat
23 points= Most common+Common
23 points= Common+Common
24 points= Most Common+ Rare
24 points=Common+Common
25 points= Common+ Rare
26 points=Rare+rare

I did do a point comparison giving 2 correct most common treats vs. giving 1 correct most common+1 incorrect treat of the same rarity level(the pumpkin reactions on second one were happy+ouch).
I got 22 points for giving 2 correct most common treats vs.
14 points for 1 correct most common treat+1 incorrect rare treat

Basically:
Treats Requested: Cherry(most common) and a Licorice(rare),
Treats Given: Cherry and Pumpkin(rare).

***New Tip: Item Order. This is important!!!***
Click to display

I have noticed that when giving incorrect treats, you will receive *less* points if you put them in the pumpkin in the incorrect order. For the examples below I used a common ouch and a most common happy treat for both to demonstrate consistency.

Here, I put the treats in the correct order. You see in the box that the kid asks for a most common ice cream and then common lollipops. I first put the ice cream in the pumpkin, and then I dragged the Ghosts(incorrect treat) in second. I got 18 points as shown.

Here, I did *not* put them in the correct order. The kid asks for Fried Egg and then Candy cane. First I gave him Ghosts (incorrect treat) and then the Fried Egg. However, i only got 13 points for this.

I've tested this several times and got less points when I put them in the incorrect order. Giving two happy treats in the incorrect order does not seem to matter. I got the same points regardless of order

For Apophis - I found this after a quick hunt around *not sure if it is accurate but...*

Apophis is one of the Egyptian horses.

He will offer you one treasure when he wakes up each day.

By scratching the treasure chest, you have a chance to win:

1 x Seal of the Apocalypse
Flax
skill points you can assign as desired to any of Horus's skills

This horse cannot be sold.

And Ra's perk (at least part of it) was actually known for quite awhile and is stated right on the Egyptian Divine page. Anyhow - his full description is:

Ra is part of Egyptian horses.

He offers you one treasure every day when he wakes up.

By scratching the treasure chest, you have a chance to win:

1 x unlimited Helios Ray
Sand
Skill points to distribute as you wish on Re

You obtain Ra once you have all the Egyptian Horses. A Player can not breed *meaning produce* more than one Ra.

This horse can not be sold

Virtually all games operate under a two value system with game money ( equus) and real money. Some only accept real money bought via cards ( like iTunes or ones specifically for specific games) or directly from your bank account or sites like PayPal. This is real money.

Howrse has one of the few with 3 options with the two mentioned above and the third that has been discussed over that last few pages. If they went mainstream, the 10 or 30 or one extra loyalty pass would be dropped in its entirety.default smiley :s

We have to stop thinking this is our right.

Agree 100%. Howrse gives people who are unable to buy passes (for whatever reason) an option to get them for free. I know many pay-to-play games that have much more stringent systems, and give much less (if anything) for free. Sure, we might not be getting unlimited passes, it might not be very many, but... hey, it's a start?

Players can be upset all they like (and they're right to be, to an extent, since it's been this way for, what, 6 years?), but the real honest truth is that if you don't want to play, you don't have to - and Howrse won't actually lose anything if players who never bought passes in the first place continue not buying them (if they quit). Literally no one is forcing you to stay and deal with this change.

Although, I do agree that if you went through the trouble of getting the 30 points, you should be able to just click a button for the pass, without doing a minigame that some systems may not be able to run / some players may not be able to do (for whatever reason).
looked like we had moved on but then someone said this

Sure, we might not be getting unlimited passes, it might not be very many, but... hey, it's a start?

no it is not a start. how can you say that when it is a HUGH step backward

to go from 30 passes a month to what they are now offering is not a start.

so you are assuming that everyone that is upset is a non pass buyer. simply not true at all.

i also find it very rude that some players are telling the ones who are upset that they are complaining and to shut it. that is not acceptable. they are simply voicing their opinions just like everyone else.

i was quiet through so many changes but no i will not be quiet anymore. being quiet only lets things get worse.

i remember once all the players banded together on some change and i am sorry i do not remember what it was and that change did not happen. (so at that time howrse did listen but i think that was before ubikill)

but that doesn't mean we can't band together now

We have to stop thinking this is our right.

"Nothing was "taken away", it was revised.

All companies need to look at their product and how it sells. I don't know of any company that won't make a change ( for any reason) if they feel it is the right thing. If they decided to only offer a 20% discount on an item that usually has a 30% discount then they will. The 30% discount is a privilege, never a right.

That does not stop anyone from voicing disappointment and that company may even lose a buyer. It happens, part of life. It is how that disappointment is presented. That company is more likely to listen to voices that offered suggestions on a rework without any rhetoric that goes to the level some have expressed here"

Spyder, what you are saying is correct, to some degree. However, I am quite against your condemnation of the protests here. Yes, the free passes are a privilege. Though it seems strange and a bit cruel that Howrse suddenly decides to drop what we can get to even lower for no apparent reason, or at least, without explaining. Many companies upon making changes to their products, explain why. Has Howrse truly done that? No. As far as privileges go, one could say that the fact we are able to sell horses is a privilege. Or the fact that we can create coats for the game a privilege. Are they necessary to the game? It is up to Howrse to decide. We never said Howrse COULD NOT change the pass system. But the customer is always right, and by changing the system, it could cause Howrse some serious damage.

I'm also curious, why is it absolutely certain that people are thinking of free passes as a right? That generalization could be extremely incorrect. People could be simply protesting at the sudden reduction in their privilege for no clear reason. If a parent decides to take away the child's privilege of say, using their phone except for 20 minutes a day without giving a reason, that child is going to start protesting! If however, the parent says to them "well, I'm taking it away because your studies have gotten worse, and I always see you playing on your phone, so I conclude that it is affecting your studies" the child might be pacified somewhat. And perhaps the parent and child could come to some sort of compromise or deal. But Howrse has told us nothing.

One might also say that the fact that the game is free is also a privilege. So how, may I ask, would you like it if Howrse was a pay to play game, and you were unable to sell horses, or create coats? I'm fairly certain you wouldn't like it at all. But it IS Howrse's right to change that, is it not? Of course. But as a player and user of the website, it is CERTAIN that we have a right to produce our feedback on these changes. If we don't like it and there is no clear reason for it, it is fine for us to voice our opinions against it. People have their theories of why Howrse is doing these things, of course, but no true reason has been stated by Howrse. However, considering many of the other changes they've been making, it's pretty clear Howrse is trying it's best to get us to spend more money.

The thing is, before the changes, Howrse was not so greedy for money. Suddenly out of the blue, Howrse decides to crop down and down so thing are harder for us to accomplish without spending money. And it IS taking away. Perhaps no the privilege of having free passes itself, but we have undeniably lost the ability to gain 30 passes a month through old horses.

Absolutely, it is true that all companies look at their product and how it sells. And of course they do make adjustments so it sells better. Howrse believes the changes they make are going to help it sell better. However, we have been giving them feedback that it is not. Any smart company, upon receiving negative feedback from their buyers, would try to modify their change so it suited the buyer's needs/wants. But has Howrse done this, or voiced a reason for what they did? No.

Now, usually buyer feedback is relayed through surveys, or forms, etc, etc. Perhaps less loud means of protest. But, despite surveys taken, and contact us forms sent, Howrse is not changing the fact that they are changing the system. So we can rant directly AT the Howrse team through messages, since nothing is happening. Or petition. Or something else. We might as well try, since nothing seems to really be getting through to them. And honestly, considering the changes made to the game thus far, do you REALLY think Howrse is going to listen to player-made ideas for running the company? It's doubtful, since they hardly stop what they're doing when we tell them they don't like it, much less will they accept ideas for running the game. Nor do they give any public signs that they listen to us at all, or if they do, I certainly haven't seen them. It takes multiple messages through the contact us to even get a reply that sounds like someone actually used their brain and thought about what they wrote in it, rather than a insincere thanks for your input note from a computer program.

And since nothing we've tried works, what is the matter with voicing our opinions in other ways? I don't know about where you live, but I do know that in the USA things have gotten done simply because someone yelled at someone else or a petition was signed and accepted. And as for the people talking here, you make another unfair assumption, assuming that what we say here is for the Howrse team to read and take note of. Not necessarily true, mind you. People are also here to just voice their opinions. Like me, who has already sent a contact us message to the Howrse team. I'm not writing lengthy essays to the Howrse team. Just short simpler messages that voice exactly what I think without a bunch of explaining that Howrse can fill in for themselves.

Simply, many of us are unhappy because our privilege is being suddenly chopped down. perhaps with some good reasoning from the Howrse team, we an be a little more accepting, or with a compromise.

*On a side note, I'm really curious about your actual opinions on the change. You are telling us that we shouldn't complain so much, so I kind of assume you are for it, but I can't tell? So I'd like to ask if you are for or against the change, or if it doesn't matter to you? Thank you.

when is the next event comeing out?
Coming at this from another angle, if I may, the people who have the time and the energy (personally I find aging out Pass Horses so incredibly boring and tedious I can never stick with them for 7 and a half months to get from birth to death, far far too slow and too boring) should be rewarded, not penalized and discouraged from their awesome task most of us hate to have to do.

So getting back to my point here, the stats that these players afford Howrse and Owlient in securing outside advertising must be literally over the top. How many online games have people playing for the hours at a time Howrse Players are logged on? Not many.

Outside advertisers want to know how many people are logging on on a daily basis and how long they are staying on, once logged in. And to squelch the individuals who have the time and patience to be able to age out horses, both for us to buy for pass horses, and for them to accrue Aging Points as well as their own pass reserves, will speak volumes to Howrse in lost Outside advertisers Dollars; which their projected change in administration will kill those sales statistics.

Therefore I am confused, it either means that Howrse does not have a Sales/Marketing person OR Howrse are not soliciting outside advertising, OR that there is another unknown rock in Howrse's road that give cause to Outside Advertisers so that they do not want to support this game.

Again, AMEN sister default smiley (l)

And I could not quote Joblitzen - but AMEN to you as well.

Player numbers will not really matter to Ubikill (I love that) as there will always be more players to come along. What WILL matter is the existing players that pay to play (like myself) no longer paying.

I have been sleeping on this whole pass change for the pass few nights: my immediate reaction is to QUIT. Quit a game I have loved for 9 years - but that is a bit overreacting.

So if UBIKILL wants to enact this most outrageously stupid pass change - then fine - you no longer get my money and a lot of other players money. I spend onwards of $1200 us dollars a year here - that will stop. And I know a lot of other players that spend way more than I do that will stop as well....

So go ahead and make the change and lose your $change$!
