For those curious about what the "challenges" are during the m__r__, here they are:
Click to display
By "challenges" I mean the little lightning bolts that will give you extra moves or something when you land on them and complete the challenge. I've only tested two boards more than once, but I got the same challenges for them all, so I'm *assuming* everyone might get the same challenge?

I included the challenge, reward and which lightning bolt it is/location. So if it says "left side" it means the left side of the board. If you look at an image of the board you'll know which one I'm talking about as there's basically one on each side of the boards

Board 1:
-groom horse: 5 dice: 5 bonus rolls(left side)
-take a horse on a 3 hour ride: teleport to highlighted space(right side)

Board 2: Slimy Swamp
-Donate 5000 Equus to Ow: Reward: Be able to teleport to the highlighted space(bottom, left side)
-Enter 5 competitions (0 %): Reward: 5 bonus die throws(right side by door)

Board 3: silk cavern
-Stroke a horse in Safe HavenReward: Be able to move to a space of your choice within a radius of 4 spaces(left side)
-Give a carrot to a horse born from Ouranos and Gaia: Reward: Be able to teleport to the highlighted space(right side)

Board 4: yarrow path(have to take numerous portals: take orange first, then pink, take pink back to orange to blue)
-Remove a Pegasus' wings: Reward: 6 bonus die throws(left side)
-Give a horse to Ow: Reward: Be able to move to a space of your choice within a radius of 6 spaces(right side)

Board 5: valley of light(needs portals)
-Win 3 competitions (0 %): Reward: 6 bonus die throws(left side)
-Donate 40000 Equus to Ow: Reward: Be able to teleport to the highlighted space(right side)

Board 6: sugar river(needs portals. Take blue only if you want Liten. Otherwise take the pink, it's easier)
-Place a horse in a Gray Helios' Ray: Reward: Be able to teleport to the highlighted space(middle-ish of board)
-Give birth to twins: Reward: Be able to move to a space of your choice within a radius of 6 spaces(left side, near entrance)

They really don't give us a lot of time to stock up on money/in game passes/ to be able to complete promos and stuff.
With the promo starting and probably not finishing until CS release or right before/after, it's going to be hard for players to afford GA's (unless one of your submissions gets through) AND try to win the divines from the

I'm personally not going to partake in the

so I can save my passes and stuff for VIP extension and CS release

The only

challenge that wasn't the same for me was this one. I was asked to give a horse a Pink Helios' Ray. So the colors will most likely differ per player, like usual with challenges/objectives like this.

ah yes, that and I would imagine the amount of equus to donate as well, as that is based off of your reserve usually. Forgot to mention that and didn't even think the color of the background to give might be different!

I'm not sure about the Equus to donate, because I had to donate the same amounts as you. And usually if it's based on your reserve, it won't be an even number, it will usually be something like 5,235 Equus or something. At least, that's how it's been in my past experience with live events.

I think it would be fair from Howrse to make sure that non pass buyers still get a divine, making a promo that would be kind of easy to get a divine from, so we don't need to spend over 100 passes on *each* promo to get ONE divine. Yes, I know divines are worth a lot and 100 passes are fine for some players, but still, what about all those non pass buyers that need to save up like, whole year to have some passes to get a divine, and they spend them all and still don't get a divine? All promos are based on luck, I know, but they are also based on to have literally million passes to spend to get a divine. It's not fair to me, don't know about you guys.

Howrse has to run pass based promos. People buy passes just for the divines the promos win, and this funds howrse. (No pass buyers = no game.) I do appreciate, however, that every once in a while they have promos that do not rely on buying passes and are just luck - the lottery, the cards... etc. Those promos make it possible for non-pass buyers to have a chance at winning divines.

I actually completed two back-to-back promos recently(the tree expedition and maze), and I don't buy passes at all. I only saved up several months for that, though my diamond giving divines makes it a lot easier for me. Due to my method of promo preparation, and being very choosy about the divines I go for, I've been well prepared for the promos I've wished to complete lately. I still advise that if you don't want to risk a promo and just want a divine for the sake of getting a divine, then go buy one in the sales as there are several that are in the 10-30 pass range. default smiley (y)

Yes I know that and I'm aware of that. Even the cards are based on passes, as far as I know and as far as I've played them. Howrse gives us too short time to complete it all, we played TH for 15 days I think, and only some did it.

But still, if you're a non pass buyer, and don't have any other sides that give you passes, you get 1 free pass a month (20% off your reserve) and if you're lucky, you get 1 diamond from Topaz. My opinion is that it's very rare that you sell a horse for a pass or few, and if you *are* selling a horse for passes, it needs to be a really good one.

Howrse does do that though. You've got the UFO fights that only require determination and tenacity for you to get the main prize. And there are the luck item promos, where you could end up spending 2 or even 1 pass and get a fantastic divine. Not to mention the reserved sales, where most Divines go for under 20 passes.

I don't think even most pass buyers complete EVERY SINGLE promo, unless they're after the 'all the divines' trophy.

The key to success is strategy and pickiness. If the divine won't really benefit you, then there's no point in spending passes to go for it.

That's not true. I'm a non pass buyer, and yet I could have 8 passes on my account right now, just from one month (I only have 7, since I accidentally spent one) 1 is the one from my reserve and the other 6 (or 7, however you want to look at it) are from my cow meadows. You can buy 6 large meadows, put a Feed Trough in each, fill each with Longhorn cows. Then you wait the 30 days, harvest the leather, sell it to the store and use that money to buy pass horses. If you can find them for cheap enough, you can get at least 5 of them and in turn, get 5 passes.
So, it could take anywhere from 3-4 months to get approx. 20 passes. That's enough to buy a divine in the sales, or you can keep buying pass horses and saving until a divine you want comes into the reserved sales. There's also those divines that get handed out for free to lucky players, such as Cascade and Croesus (and the Zodiacs, if they're your sign) to name a few. So, really, it's quite simple for non-pass buyers to get a divine
By Retired breeder, 13th April 2016 18:21:11
Sorry, small mistake there. It should say you can get at least 6 of them and in turn get 6 passes.
While the World Championship promo can be a little tedious, that promo is quite nice if you want to get a divine for cheap. Both times I just went for what I could get for free and could have probably spent 10-15 passes max to finish out the promo and get the divine. I didn't care for the perks of the zodiac offered in either promo(Scorpio was useless unless you were born under that sign and I can't remember why I didn't get the last one). So that's another promo to watch out for if you're looking to complete one.

And lots of players take advantage of the possible 30 pass horses in a month, not just 10. I just go for 10 because I don't want to bother killing off anymore horses for a 1 in 3 chance to get a pass after that. That's too many horses for me to deal withdefault smiley (lol)

If you are really serious about getting a divine and playing this game well, then are ways to earn at least 11 passes a month without spending any money. Plus, I don't think there has ever been a promo that cost 100 passes. I don't buy passes, and while i miss out on quite a few divines that I'd love to have, I have managed to win some by simply putting in the effort. It sounds to me like you want Howrse to just give you a divine for free, which is really never going to happen. Put in a little work, and you'd be surprised at how easily you can win a divine. Otherwise, if it bothers you that much, don't play.
