I have owned several breeds of horses in my life.

2 Shetlands, 2 Quarter Horses (one registered), one Missouri Foxtrotter, and several cross-breds. Five of the crossbreds were registered as Half Arabians, by a full-blooded Arab stallion out of a Missouri Foxtrotter mare. One of my Quarter Horse mares had two foals that were sired by a Missouri Foxtrotter stallion. Then, when we didn't get one of her colts gelded soon enough, she had a colt by him (oops!), so he would have been 1/4 Quarter Horse and 3/4 Foxtrotter. The first horse I ever owned was a mixed breed.

My registered Quarter Horse mare was the most unusual-looking horse that I have ever seen. Her papers said she was a dun, but she was probably more like a grulla. She was white with black legs, tail, and mane, and black muzzle and ear tips. Her mane and tail actually had a lot of white hairs among the black. Then she had the cross on her back and withers, and zebra stripes on her legs. I have a picture of her somewhere. She was 25 years old when I got her, and while I did see her papers, I really don't know what color her parents were, or any of her offspring. We did try to breed her to a palomino stallion, but she was just too old to settle. She was a wonderful horse, though, with a very sweet nature. I wish I had gotten her when she was younger.
