Winning Competitions

Hey everyone! Are there any tips or tricks to winning competitions? Or somewhere I can go to see the ones I have entered and the results? I am currently working on blipping a horse for the first time and I’ve already maxed out forest and mountain rides and trained her top 3 skills.

To see the ones you entered and their outcome, go to Breeding Farm - Competition Results

Techniques vary a bit when it comes to BLUPping, but most train the highest skill last, to make wins easier.

Hello there!

We all have different strategies when it comes to winning comps. You can bold (max out) the 2 out of 3 top skills, and that one skill should be the one that the comp is considering its difficulty. If you are going to join a jumping comp, for instance, and you have an Australian Pony, you can max the speed and dressage but dont train the jumping skill, you will have low jumping but high speed and dressage. Thus, you will join low level comps since the jumping comp difficulty is based on jumping skill, but you will have high speed and dressage. After you join one or more low level jumping comp, you can train the jumping as much as you can that day.

To see the comp results, go to Breeding Farm/Competition Results.

Happy Howrsing!

Adding to the above, if you've already bolded the top 3 skills, you can still get wins by entering your horse into competitions that use the 2 best secondary skills but not the main skill eg, your horse has speed , dressage and jump all completed or bold so will struggle to win show jumping but could do well in trot or gallop competitions as those use the same secondary skills.

Also have a look at Dr Zigs guides to training and blupping in the Howrse-Breeding forum. It helps you to understand exactly how competitions work and the best methods of training for anyt breed.
