[Known Issue][May 2025] Ongoing Performance Issues

Thank you to everyone who has reported issues within the game after the maintenance yesterday.

We would like to assure you that we're working to resolve these issues as soon as possible and ask for your continued patience while we continue investigating and applying fixes to the game.

I've listed a few of the most common issues below:
- Game lag,
- Game slowness,
- Delay in receiving password reset emails,
- Delay in receiving verification emails,
- Horse competitions becoming stuck "In progress"

Please know that the above list is not exclusive and is only the most frequent issues being encountered by our players.

Hello,

On May 28th, all the servers underwent maintenance to address the performance issues.

We have already received positive feedback from multiple players. Can you please let us know if the server performance (lag, slowness) is better or resolved for you?

And now that this was addressed, the team will continue tackling the rest of the issues, for example:

Unavailable payment methods;
E-mails from Howrse are not being received;
Inability to log in;
Special horses are not providing their gift;
The Pieces of Cloud Pack from the May Packs are not working;
The ranking is not updated on some versions.
And a few others...

Please note that once the main problems are resolved and the game has stabilized, we will work on compensation for all the issues that happened in the past weeks.

Once more, we are really sorry about the inconvenience, and thank you for your patience over the past weeks!

Hello,

Regarding the global compensation, our team is still unable to share details about all the compensation planned, but one very likely option is an extension of the privileges included in the May packs for all players.

Please be patient, as it may take time to prepare the script for the compensation distribution, and the team is not working with fully operational tools right now.

About the May Packs: the date was extended and they will be available until Wednesday, June 18th, at 10 am (Paris time).

Regarding the Payment methods: We are aiming to bring Xsolla back by the end of next week at the latest. Unfortunately, we cannot say if Paysafe will be fixed before the 18th.

Other than that, the team is still busy with getting everything else up and running again (emails, preprod, many of our internal tools, etc).

We'll keep you updated when we have more news.

We have a new update on the current situation.

The payment method Xsolla should be back by the end of next week. Unfortunately, we still cannot guarantee anything for Paysafe.

Regarding the Email issue, the technical team had a breakthrough today, and hopefully, the problem will be fixed at the beginning of next week. (Maybe even today?)

We know the recent disruptions have impacted your experience, and we want to make it right with a generous compensation package.

We can already say that, in addition to the privileges from the May packs, we will also extend the VIP and Pegasus subscriptions for the concerned players.

A more global compensation will contain a bundle of items for everyone, such as some luck items and aging points. Those are only examples, and the detailed content and number of items still need to be confirmed.
We cannot share a date for when it will be distributed, as we want to fix the email issue first, and the Dev team will need some time to code the compensation script.

Additionally, the team is still busy ensuring our internal tools are properly operational again and addressing the remaining issues.

Here is a new update on the current situation after the migration:

↪ Emails issue: Good news, the game is finally able to send out emails to almost everyone!
We are still having issues with Yahoo email addresses. The team is on it, but the rest is fine. You should now be able to confirm your email address or reset your password, for example. Please remember to check your spam folders if you haven't received an email in your inbox.

↪ Missing payment methods: The team is still working on getting Xsolla back as soon as possible. However, right now, we cannot guarantee that it will happen before the end of May Packs, unfortunately. Paysafe should arrive even later. We know how inconvenient it can be for some of you, and we are really sorry about that! Rest assured that the team is doing its best.

↪ Global compensation: We're still on it! The detailed amount and content will be finalized by the end of the week. Hopefully, we will be able to send it out next week.

↪ Test servers: The team is still working on it, hopefully they can reopen next week.

The team is also working on other issues, which are less visible to you, affecting our internal tools.

Step by step, things are getting back to normal.

It's been really laggy and sadly payment doesn't go through too which is super upsetting as I paid 2 times and it failed but the money is gone. This is really frustrating since I thought it was just simply not working but apparently it also took my money? Hope I can somehow get my passes or the money back. A bit confused about this tbh.

This is possibly the sort of issue you could take to Contact Us directly with a screenshot of confirmation of purchase. It may still take them some time to resolve it and get your purchased passes loaded to your account, but they will definitely make sure that the passes will get to you if they haven't yet.

You could also take a screenshot of your pass history to show that the passes weren't uploaded when compared to your confirmation of purchase.

I hadn't been able to log into Howrse for /weeks/. Every time I tried, it said something like "You have been inactive for too long, please refresh and try again".

After enough Googling, I was able to figure out that if I go to a link of a player's presentation, I could log on through that screen instead.

But the regular log-on screen is completely broken.

I am disappointed to find that Howrse still blames players for website issues. What a shame.

Is there also an issue with the Chinese divines? They all seem to be refusing to trigger for weeks in a row now. Both on INT and NL server.
People were talking about it on various Howrse-related Discord servers too.

Anyone else having this issue?
Or is it just me having VERY bad luck? default smiley 8-)

I don't want to bother Support with this actually, hopefully they are reading here too.

Mine have been triggering. So I'm not sure if it's an issue with the site that's not effecting me or you're just having a run of bad luck.

Also having issues with lag and weird displays for the website. Checkmarks to tick like in sales or covers don't show up, which makes it very hard to select things, and often the formatting isn't right or the pages and text are misaligned. While clearing cookies helps for a day, the problems always come back. It is very frustrating being told that these problems can be fixed by clearing cookies or cache when that is clearly not the case.

I apologize if this has been discussed already, but is anyone else unable to cover unicorns today for some reason? I've been trying to breed my mare on-and-off for a few irl hours now, and every time I click to confirm the start of a cover session, I just get the loading sign for a sec and nothing happens. She's never been covered before, so it's not the cooldown timer, and I still have 2 covering sessions left since I've ben unsuccessful in starting any. Am posting here in case it's a known performance bug atm. Thanks for your help!!

I am greatly disappointed in the game right now. I have lost several items (water trough during the "white screen / lock-up episode); my leather from a month of raising long-horn steer, just to mention a few of the frustrations I have encountered, as others have reported. I get no reply from "contact us".
I am not interested in another week of the Ultimate Pack availability - I want basic issues corrected.
Very disappointed now - no wonder more and more long-term players have left and continue to do so!! default smiley :@

Mine triggering as normal. It is just my game play that’s slow off and on.

I pasted this from a thread I just closed.

Hi, my immortal "Rare Gem" mare just went from pregnant to not pregnant and ready to breed, as if she wasn't just pregnant. I used an aging point on her at 8 months pregnant. She should be 10 months pregnant now. Why did this happen? Is this a bug?

Someone asked if I accidentally aged her past foaling. No I did not. I had just had a ultrasound done at month 8 she was expecting a colt. The game also warns before I age past the foal's due date and I did not get this warning. Also, if this is what happened would she be immediately ready to breed without the required year of aging first? I am going to rebreed her after I get a screenshot of her now.
This includes a second post I am pasting ons post.

I moved this from a Sept post where I put it by accident.

I checked her history and it said she lost her foal. So it is my fault. I still did not get the warning message. This is the first time this has happened and I rely on the warning message. This could be a bug-or has the game been changed?

You would get a pop up to call the vet and then one that warns you before you age again. Are you saying you got one warning and then didn't notice the second one?

I'm still unable to log in from the Howrse.com homepage. I can only access it by going to my browser's history and entering through a previously visited page within the site. I'm also having issues with my progress reset in the current Chimera event - I've logged in each day, have the breeder's wealth notifications to prove it, but my daily progress is stalled at Day 1.

I would advise now that anyone still having issues should clear their cache and cookies (Admin always ask if you have done this) As far as I know the updates to clear issues have taken place but devices could be holding old information.

This topic is not regularly checked for new bugs, it was intended as more of an update/info topic.

If you have a new issue or clearing cache has not worked then you should open a ticket with Contact Us in the normal way. They need to see anything new but I would think by now they need updates on anything still not working since the end of May.

Are you on classic or mobile? Classic has a popup, but if you accidentally click off, it's possible to miss it. On mobile, you can't bed the horse down until she gives birth, but I think you can age her. I've never tried to age a mare ready to foal, unfortunately, so I don't know whether there's a further warning message.

This only happens on my Ipad which is frustrating since I mainly play on my Ipad. I cannot login.

Opened this account by sending my daughter all my info and she was able to start my account up for me. No issues logging in...except from my Ipad default smiley (o)

Is there a timeline for when the log in page for the international desktop version will be fixed? It's still unusable, I can't even go from the mobile version to the desktop version because it just makes the game crash. I have just been using the mobile version this entire time and it's making blupping/breeding almost impossible.
