[Info] The Retired Coat Gallery
Frustrated as its one I had bought in sales - that will teach me to perhaps wait a little longer in future when I miss them at release. This is happening way too often at the minute but not sure how it is combated really, why can't all creators just be honest! Everyone suffers because someone stole another's work as their own is what it boils down to.

I had two coats removed this morning. The second one may have been a GA? It really is frustrating that the coats are allowed to get through (some after years of use) and then pulled. It's the price and risk we pay for collecting coats. That's why I'm not as into it as I used to be.

Another coat was removed, this one from 2020. It was also one I didn't get myself, so I'm doubly devastated.

I really want to say this here in the hopes a dev will see this. But it shouldnt take a week *after* release for art theft to be removed from the game, it should have never got in. And is sure shouldnt be up to the player base to be reporting the coats.
Theres already been 1 coat falsely removed because someone thought it was fanart and reported it as such. At the end of the day only people that get the GAs suffer, the person that stole the art keep any passes they have left and dont even loose karma. CS is fundamentally broken at the moment. Check the coats *on submission* and dock/ban repeat offenders. I think I speak for all of us when I say we dont want stolen art in the game and would like to see a more clean CS. |
Last time i saw someone actually get punished for submitting plagiarised artwork was 2013/2014.

What bothers me so much is that this coat was actually a commission according to the artist, which means someone paid this artist to draw it. Not only was this theft of someone's art, it was theft of something that someone else paid for. I understand that Howrse can not know where every piece of art comes from, but more really does need to be done about this, even if it is just harsher sanctions for people that submit stolen work. I personally think that it would make a massive difference if the penalty for submitting stolen art was not only a harsh karma dock, but the person submitting it also losing the full pass payout they got, even if they spent some and had to use real money to pay it off and get their account back.

I lost both coats...they were both 200 uses. Thankfully I got them before they retired rather than buying them in sales. I really loved that older one!

I'm terrible with knowing what RCs are worth what so hopefully it was a good purchase. It was more like BIRB *buy* then actual thought

And now this one's been removed. This one is so frustrating, it got removed for fanart of jujutsu kaisen's gojo. Its literally a white horse with a mask but guess that was enough. If you are that fast and loose with what fanart is you could remove half of the coats in the game. |

I mean to be fair the coat was named 'strongest sorcerer' and that's what Gojo is known as, so that was clearly a fanart. If they'd named it something else or removed the mask there could have been more plausible deniability but as the coat was...yeah that one's pretty cut and dry.

And now this one's been removed. Adding as a response to this and the previous comments, I do find it a little silly that this was removed. Its a white horse with a black blindfold and no kind of emblem, even the name shouldnt be enough to have it removed unless "Strongest sorcerer" has copyright protection. There are much worse coats to go after so I'm baffled on its removal being due to "fanart" |

 Just had this one removed. It was in my sorting tab so no idea if active or retired or when it's from. It's the type I would choose so may well have been a GA.

It was an unlimited coat from the last release, and i was the first to use it and had a cute ray combo made with it...i'm so sad!
