Guessing that the golden apple is going to one of the few that cost more, considering how Howrse rarely offers them during promos, and when they are offered they're harder to get than other 1 pass items. As a collector I hope I'm wrong default smiley (lol)

I'm happy to be able to confirm that you are wrong default smiley :). The GA is exactly the same price as it is now.

They never have pushed buying APs on us. Unless you hit 0 Aps and if you clicked the "+" sign that appeared (that would lead you directly to the pass-Ap transaction page), some people do buy them with passes. I know very few of them, but since they cant AP farm or own divines that hand out APs, they decide yo buy them with passes. Yes,this rare people exist.

They just made the access to APs smoother. Right now you have to click on the little "+" sign (if you have 0 APs),or click on the aging button and click on the "Aging point"-link that leads you to the buying page. Its long, its annoying and not very user-friendly.

They didn't price them for more, the price is actually the same if they decided to release 150-AP buying option here today, right now. They made that pack so people who buy Aps can access them easier than they can do now. There are a lot of items one can buy for passes in the BMI store, but most of people don't because:

1) they already have the item
2) they think the item is overpriced
3) they dont need it
4) they dont have passes to buy it with

Nothing changes much with this AP pack. Its just a pack, nothing else. Currently, you can buy:

1 passes=20 AP
3 passes= 70 AP
10 passes= 300AP

Pretty sure it was mentioned at least once by some others in the past that an option of buying APs for 5 passes should be added.

If they were trying to make APs more valuable than they are they would remove all cheap options, make this pack, and price it for x2 or x5 their worth.. This is just a new option for those that don't think spending 10 passes is worth the AP. No selling them for equus is not profitable,but... why would you sell them in the first place? If we ever can gain this AP pack in a promo, and this pack becomes available for trading on the trading market, then you can gain better and more reasonable amount of equus for them.
Not that 5 passes for 150 is any better, but at least,it gives the customer an new option. If they use it or not is up to the customer.

Seriously, this AP pack is not even an issue. Glad to see they make this site easier to navigate trough, and go to (Ap buying page being an example) easier without the long "first click on the aging button ,then on the link saying "Aging point",THEN you will be able to buy them" route.

My guess is that the new pass change system will come at the same time the card promo comes out, with should be...sometimes in late November, maybe early December?

Wow. Most of these changes do not seem as bad as some players have been making them out to be.default smiley :) I am actually looking forward to some of them now.

I don't like the 10% sales tax or selling horses for just passes and just equus. I like mixing my sales sometimes. I do not mind the sales tax to much, but I think a sales tax of 5-7% would be more reasonable. I mean, it's hard enough to earn passes as it is. Taking away 10% is pretty high for players that use ingame methods to earn passes. And pass buyers to a certain extent.

Adding aging points to the Hera Pack is a great idea! So is the divine dust. Repricing BMI has been needed for so long. It looks like they are being reasonable about pricing as well.

I am starting to get excited about the changes now!default smiley :d Well done Howrse! You probably just need to rethink horse sales.default smiley ;)

I probably would have posted my thoughts on the changes in it's dedicated topic, but it was locked. Then again, this additional information was not publicly announced so I might not have been allowed to post there if it were open.default smiley (lol) I don't know. I am just a little excited to see Howrse making some real improvements. Even if it just be a few, it's a start.default smiley :)

Is there any mention of pass horse removal? yes this is an old topic but i have been working away from regular internet access for nearly 5 months and would rather get a direct answer then having to go back through this forum. Thanks

In the ambassadors (now locked) topic I believe a mod or admin answered that question and said that pass horses would stay the same. You would get 100 "new" passes for sending a horse over 30 to heaven, rules would stay the same as they are now. That's what I heard. But you could fact check me.

sorry to "repost" I guess, but I was curious and found the real answer. Cailow did answer the question of pass horses in the ambassadors topic:
"Q:When sending 30+ horses to heaven will you get 100 passes then?
Yes, each horse will bring 100 new passes"
So, yes, pass horses look to stay exactly the same!

I have been catching up on upcoming changes and I have a question...

I noticed that with the new pass currency system the Black Market Items have a slight change in value. What about employees? Will their value remain same like horn of plenty and titan challenges, or can they change in value? I am wondering because Farm-Hand is the least value to me versus the Instructor. Thanks

One thing I feel needs to be changed is the fee % and have it decrease with the higher the cost, as if you sell for 1 million you are going to lose 100k, which is an insane amount to lose on a "tax"

According to the ambassador test session, the ec employee prices remain the same. Although a feedback was sent, so who knows.

Honestly the reevaluating of the prices is pretty disappointing, most of them don't vary all that much (5 new passes is barely HALF a diamond), at least a 10% drop like the fee they want to impose would be more reasonable. Not to mention the Poseidon Pack, just a 5 new passes drop? I expected at least a 100 passes drop! Oh well...

In fact the Poseidon is 25 new passes drop (a quarter of a current pass), because its current price is 300 new passes. You will in any case pay less for almost all of the BMIs, as far as I can see. Less than you do now.

Not to mention that after the change all divines giving diamonds now will increase their value, since you will be able to use the divine dust on them to improve their skills, instead of using the passes they give you to do it (like you must use now the diamonds). This is in our advantage over the current system.

On another note, I remember reading something vague long time ago, so I'd like to ask

Is anyone aware of any changes that will come to the exchanges? Will we be able to trade BMIs for the new passes, just like we do now for equus?

Seeing the new BMI prizes came something to my mind: what will be the situation with Themis's Scale? With the Nyx pack costing less you cant trade it anymore to get 6 golden apples or 2 philosopher's stone/morpheus' arm or any valuable stuff. Will there be a solution to that or they just cancel this free way of getting cool items?

I agree the tax is too high. But have to disagree with the idea of making it less for people who sell at higher figures. Why should people who are richer pay less? Paying the same percentage at all levels is fairer.

I think you may have mistaken what I said, as I never said those that are richer should pay less, I said that sales that are priced higher should how a lower % the higher it goes to prevent such a massive hit like that.

Why do I hold this opinion? Because if this is to unlock offers as a community, why should those that sell for higher be expected to fund the majority? I feel the fee should be reduced if you are selling for a higher price or at least create a "max fee" to prevent frequent sellers getting ripped off constantly.

It's the same percentage, it's not a 'bigger hit' if you sell at a higher price. To me what you are suggesting is just the same as suggesting people earning more in big business should pay less tax than those earning less because it seems a lot. If you've got more, you can afford more. And if it's the same percentage, then it's actually not even more, it just seems a lot.

Think of it another way: should the person who's got two horses to sell for 25,000 each
give up more of their earnings from them than the person who's got 1 horse worth 50,000?
Should the sale of AP foals make Howrse a higher percentage than the sale of skillers?

I know many real-world selling sites give a discount to those who sell more. And in the real world that can be one more disadvantage for those that are poor. On the other hand, I live in a country where those who earn more pay a higher percentage in tax. If we see this as a 'tax' then making it the same percentage across the board is fair, and makes it less of a burden on poorer players.
